tons of fun just passed the part with REPCONN facility its a wee bit slow but im enjoying it a lot.Just finding it harder to get me some ammo and stimpacks and getting used to some of the changes ah well thats life deserves higher than a 7.5 imo.
My main gripe with Fallout New Vegas is the stupid INVISIBLE WALLS!!! Seriously, why in the nine hells can't I walk up the mountain that's right in front of me.wizardwdOh god yes I agree. I'm trying to get to Ranger Station Foxtrot and these freaking invisible walls on the mountains make it impossible. I can not find a way up there.I had the same issues. Fallout 3 didn't have this non-sense... did it? Yeah, actually, FO3 has a LOT more invisible walls. Especially in DC itself.
I'm loving the game so far, but you really do have to have patience. It's sloooooooooooow as hell.angelkimne
People said the same thing about the show in your sig.. THE WIRE and some are saying it about Boardwalk Empire because there isnt enough killing they say.
To me when shows or games take time to work on characters and dialgoue that is perfect to me. I want to know about these characters and whats going on, I like good dialogue also. I would rather have a great story and good character development then just alot of excitement or violence all the time.
Its wierd, what some people think is slow I think is perfect :P
Tons of missions to do, interesting characters, story and dialogue... I am in heaven here with this game and Boardwalk Empire every week (My new show now that The Wire is done) :P

I'm okay with something that takes its time, but New Vegas just feels a tad... tedious to me. I don't remember feeling that about F3. Luckily, the writing is leagues better, which easily makes up for it.I'm definitely gonna get Boardwalk when it releases on DVD here in the UK, shame I can't watch it on TV. :(

I feel the same way. Halo reach has ZERO character development and yet im still seeing people talk like it had a great story.

Glad im not the only one.
How did you get xfire to record your fallout new vegas time? For some reason me and all my buds cant get xfire to show that we are playing it or add up our time played ):
I miss the old xfire.. the new owners still dont have Amnesia or Elemental recognized as games on there :|

Yup, Bungie do great cutscenes and the writing's fine imho, they just need to take more time with things... much more time. I knew from the start that bungie were going to disappoint me when it can to the game's "human" story. I don't see why they couldn't take some time and talk about each member of noble team. Why did they even bother including the tibit about your character being a replacement to a spartan that has died if they didn't even feel the need to talk about him/her?[QUOTE="lawlessx"]I feel the same way. Im glad bungie are finished with the halo series since now we might start seeing halo titles with storylines that could match the novels.

With 343 studios handling the show, I'm sure Frank O'Connor will do some wonders with the storyline if he feels the need. He did do a lot of of writing for some backstory elements of Halo, such as the Covenant book of conversations in the Halo 2 limited edition (great read). I agree though, but the fact that they made Noble 6 a nameless soldier with less personality than the Chief (is that even possible?) I could tell they weren't going to do much with Halo's story... as usual. Then again, Halo games have always been about the story happening around you, and picking up the points happening across the campaign over radio and whatnot.I'm okay with something that takes its time, but New Vegas just feels a tad... tedious to me. I think the game is pretty slow too, but only because of the load times. I fast travel somewhere, wait at a load screen, and I'm outside the place rather than inside it. That means I have to enter it and wait through another load screen.
Regardless, I'm really enjoying the game.
I've ran into a few bugs and glitches though. Most notably with companions, but also a few freezes.
[QUOTE="Desmonic"]Hey guys, quick question for those who have finished the game already: Are there any story/character connections to Fallout 3? Just answer with a simple yes or no, please :P Thanks!Stevo_the_gamerI've noticed one, and he was the doctor in jacobstown. He was part of the Enclave in D.C. before the Rig was destroyed by the player during Broken Steel DLC.
are you sure? Im pretty sure he was refering to the events of Fallout 2.
Edit: I looked it up. Not only was he refering to Fallout 2, but he was apparently a character in the actual game.

I said that I wanted an yes or no answer :P lol Btw is it part of the main story or some other quest? Or is it just random ( as in, you only find that out if you talk to the guy)?
its random and has nothing to do with the story. But this isnt a refrence to Fallout 3. He was talking about the oil rig from Fallout 2. And was apparently an actual character in the game.
Oh, well, I stand corrected. lol I don't remember him saying oil, but if he did. Then that would make sense. :Pare you sure? Im pretty sure he was refering to the events of Fallout 2.

which is kinda funny since Van Buren seems to be refered to on a regular basis, despite never coming out.
I think I have a mental cap at 20hrs for my games, I played NV to hell and back this weekend, have 22 hrs played. I have not been able to get back into it since I went back to work, then I looked at my steam games time played and all of them are about 20 to 26hrs and some of them not finished. I may get back into it this weekend but right now It is alittle boring, yesterday I played alittle, me and boone went into vault3 and killed everyone in there no problem , alittle boring. Great game but I need a break I think.

Start a new game/character and play again, there is so many quests in this game that you most likely wont do em all your first time.

So far yes id say that's right... mention of the brotherhood of steel going east is made but that's about it.Skittles_McGee
