What about games that don't use a second stick? The design is already cramped enough as it is. You can't shove anything else on it. I don't like the CPP, but it's better than making the entire thing cramped for a vast minority of games.

Gamespot has a bias? Where did you get that from? So far the 3DS has a bunch of ports, inferior versions of existing franchises, and games like bravely default.. I don't see how you can even say it has the best line up. The xbox has a better lineup this year, not to mention the vita has games like Soul Sacrifice, Gravity Rush and Sound shapes, new awesome unique IPs instead of the same rehashed stuff over and over.

Also it definitely doesn't have the best FE, and soul sacrifice is held up to a golden standard because it is that good, it's a new IP, that has great visuals, gameplay, sound and atmosphere. Bravely default is dismissed because it looks generic and has a very ugly chibi artstyle. Soul Sacrifice on the other hand is what japan should be doing more of and man don't even bring up RE:R that game is just average.

Well the 3D is a gimmick on it, no doubt there.
The younger audience is tied into the 3DS.
For those saying 'it has games'.. Better games equate to having better hardware too.

I think the second screen is great and useful of putting stuff that for examplewith one screen you have to pause for or give the top screen some more space. The use of 3D could be use better but it is really nice in some games like Super Mario 3D Land and Fire Emblem. I never have much issue with the one analog, through regarding Monster Hunter, the underwater fight in the demo was a pain in the ass.

I don't really like Phil Fish overall through even if Fez looks good. And it not like Vita doesn't have some gimmick too like the back touchpad. 

Part of me wishes they kept making the GameBoy with better hardware/controls.

Not really, the line up is mostly a bunch of low tier japanese games. It's one of the most overblown and overrated line ups for quite sometime.

Does the 3DS have a good library? Yes.  Is it an overrated library? Absolutely. 

Now about the OP, I agree with Phil Fish for the most part. I do like having a second screen though, it has benefited almost every DS and 3DS game I've played. The guy did make a lot of good points, but unfortunately it just comes off as an angry rant, and probably could have been written and worded better to reflect his opinions without coming off as an outspoken assh*le.

Truth is, both Vita and 3DS have quality games by handheld standards, both have gimmicks and both offer great experiences. Most people who own both and don't talk out of their asses, knows this. Preference is one thing, but the level of hatred and ignorance you show towards Nintendo products is nonsense.

And so was DS.  And I hate how since the DS the handhelds have been sharply square shaped, they feel awful, the gameboy advance was comfortable. 

GBA was the last great handheld and had some really great games.

Didn't think so. 3DS is just got ,castlevania, Fire Emblem, Luigi's mansion and a new Pokemon spin off, not to mention animal crossing coming in june, and pokemon x/y in october. The system is a beast.
