It didn't look very hard at all :(Metroid_Time
With Wii controls it will be harder than Previous metroid. Unless you can still lock on.
[QUOTE="Japanese_Monk"][QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]XD It does remind me of Halo CE, but damn....it looks amazing.BioShockOwnz
I know in GS or even game circles this might be considered heresy but why are people so hyped for Bioshock. I played the demo and it was very uinderwhelming. The only good thing I have to say about it is that the "story" and atmosphere both are VERY GOOD. But that alone isn't enough. The actual gameplay sucked hard....it was mediocre at best.
Read one of many reviews. It's currently averaging a 99% after like 9 reviews. It tells a story in an innovative way with very intense moral choices. Rapture is a place of failed hopes and failed dreams. This is an emotional game that will be one of the best games ever and it is beautiful art. If you don't understand it, don't try. It's clear to those with open minds.
Haha. Obviously YOU did not read my post. I said the atmosphere and the "story" are both amazing. The game pulls you in to rapture quite well actually. There are different aspects to a game y'know. A game can be scary as all get out, have the best graphics, or even tell an amazing story. Which bioshock does em all. But whats missing from this formula? At least from what I saw, it seems to be actual gameplay. Nothing new, nothing innovative.
They say the AI is completely new and innovative but personally it felt like condemned with super-human powers and a better story-line. It felt mediocre. I have played so many games with the same gameplay that Bioshock brings...actually I'd say some of these games did it a little better. Doom (xbox), condemned, chronicles of riddick, Oblivion, ect.
Remember, im not saying the art, storyline, or graphics are bad. They are all superb. But the actual gameplay....eh, thats another story.
I'm glad they changed the admirl's look. He looked really silly back at the first federation ship demo, where he had that cone hat and that really weird outfit, someone find a picture of that first guy, he was hillarious and I can't find em anywhere
Anyays, nice to see some action and charecters mixed into the adventure... whenever metroid prime 1 nad 2 kicked up, it was 1 hell of a game, but until then, it felt like wandering a void of nothing.

The intro changes pretty drasticaly.
It's more of an referance to Starship Troopers.
But oh yeah the ignorent think that halo in vented Starship Troopers.
Here a hit just about ever outer space sci-fi with military action is based of starship troopers.
metroid
halo
warhammer 40k
just for starters.
wow that looks pretty cool ive always liked the prime seriesi'd get it but im not going to buy a wii just for that game
wow, even on a compressed small video you ca allredy see the big upgrade. granted it's not 360 or PS3 quality dretail, but it looks gorgeous!! the beginning is too much like Halo though...
must buy for me. i'm hearing lots of reporters LOVE the controls. can't wait.

Really? I can't see any upgrades from that video.
[QUOTE="tomarlyn"][QUOTE="cyprus646"]1st of all theres alot of thing wrong with what you said because they arent true read my list of why there different then comeback to me with a valid argument instead of saying " Poor me fanboys are jumping all over me   " You made a stupid statement just cop to it and admit that there not.
sexy_chimp
There is nothing stupid about my statement and your points were invalid. The direction of the intro is almost identical to two other games, it doesn't matter on the characters or setting. So what? Why is that worth bashing me for? Its pathetic.
Why was it worth bringing up in the first place?
Anyway who cares just shut up about it.
That's a stupid question. If someone looked like your dad, wouldn't you bring that up?
What's wrong with you people?
[QUOTE="sexy_chimp"][QUOTE="tomarlyn"][QUOTE="sexy_chimp"][QUOTE="tomarlyn"][QUOTE="sexy_chimp"]Halo didn't invent commanders, and Halo didn't invent bridges. tomarlyn
Whats that got to do with the direction of MP3's prologue?
Nothing, I'm just saying that the inventors of bridges and commanders should be upset right now because Halo stole their idea.
Thats the dumbest thing I've ever heard I'm sorry. It has nothing to do with the direction of MP3's intro, which is just a combination of those from Halo and Doom 3. It could be in an underwater cave for all it matters.
I don't get your logic. If Metroid is a knock off of Halo, how come Halo isn't a knock off of any other game that had bridges and commanders in it?
No I said MP3's intro was a knockoff of Halo and Doom 3's intro's, try to keep up.
It's a bloody generic intro no matter what game it was used it. It's a stock prologue! No one ripped it off; everyone who used it was equally uncreative in using it![QUOTE="furtherfan"]wow, even on a compressed small video you ca allredy see the big upgrade. granted it's not 360 or PS3 quality dretail, but it looks gorgeous!! the beginning is too much like Halo though...

seriously? I could tell within the first 5 minutes! There is a greater level of detail, and the effects are quite nice as well! Can't wait to see this on my widescreen! :D

I'm dead serious. If that video was an indication of anything, the game doesn't look that much better than the previous two. The improvements might be there, but they are too inconspicuous to easily notice.

hmm....
if anything... there is a LOT more going on... more enemies, larger environments, faster load times (check the doors, they don't take as long to open as the ones in Prime 1 and 2), and more detail (imo).

yeah i know !!!!!
anynoe, doesn't that mean that someone already did the copying? so doesn't that mean that it's already a "trend", if that were the case then even if these senarios are similar it doesn't mean metroid is copying anyone!, it's just following the trend :Dnintendo-4life
I know everyone takes inspiration from everywhere, I pointed this one out and the earth itself started to move like god was about to smite me. I just hope the people with flamethrowers weren't the same people that bash Halo for its shields, Gears Of War for its cover system or Sony for well.... everything, lol.
Its not even worth arguing over and you know I take my opinions to the grave with me. I don't expect anyone to agree with them, just respect the fact I have them :)

that's exactly why i like to argue with you (well not arguing arguing.... you know what i mean) because you actually have a point to prove, and yes i do see the halo influence on MP3 as a whole, not much but it's there.[QUOTE="Blackbond"]I understand the Suits but where does she keep getting all these new ships? The only one I can actually think of a reason for is this one:
Her previous ship had crashed into a belt of asteroids (to my memory,at least),and she needed a new one,so this one is her replacement. The rest...I'm not so sure.

This is just flat out wrong. You are misremembering the original game's image quality and level of detail to a staggering degree. Go back and actually play Metroid Prime again, Corruption's areas have easily five times the scope and size while also increasing the level of detail, image quality and number of active objects. There's so much more detail in the effects of scripted events that it's not even funny, and then there are a ton of general engine enhancements - improvements in the lighting model, stuff like the missile smoke trails and the enhanced visor reflection/refraction effects, etc. And the textures are far, far better than Prime's muddy and blurry ones. Start up Prime again, stand on the outer deck of the frigate, and look around - it's completely pants next to Corruption's opening. And the difference only becomes more dramatic from that point on.
Claiming that you can't see the difference is pretty much claiming that you have no eye for graphic fidelity.

You seem to be exaggerating the graphics of MP3. I never denied that there were improvements to the games, but for me to look hard in order to notices them says that the game is not a big improvement over the previous two. The stages seem larger and there are more scripted events, but the game still looks old. And how can you say the MP1 has muddy graphics? If anything, you're the one that seems to not remember how that game looked. Here, let me refresh your memory:

Enough with BS, you telling me from THAT crappy quality vid you can asess those differences? Stop being blind man. The difference between MP2 and MP3 is minor bar Controls. I've never seen someone talk so much crap. Prime had great graphics, huge environments. MP3 looks better than the previous two games thats a GIVEN but cmon, talk about exaggeration.
