I really don't get americans, pre-crisis the comments would have been ''Good, they're cutting down the fat.'' now it's "That's horible, I will pray for the fired people." It's like empathy for other countries only exists if a crisis or financial hard times hit america too. That aside,

It's indeed a shame they got layed off. Here's to hoping they can find another job soon.

You don't get Americans because you have us wrong.

Americans Collectively are the some of the most generous people in the world. Making Donations to charitable organizations and taking time to help out people struggling in the community. Most Americans don't find joy in other peoples misery. That being said there are always rotten apples in every culture. Generalizing Americans because a few silly fanboys is also silly.

The problem is not the economy. And it's not the gaming division. That just is one division of several.

With TV, many TV markers, not just Sony, have lost tens of million of dollars. Why? Market saturation, falling prices, shipping declines, falling profit margins, cheaper competition, and the flop of 3DTV.

With music, the market has changed, Apple has taken over, and Sony has failed to keep pace.

With home media, DVD business is declining, and while BD is growing, it's clear it has not been the runaway monster hit many were hoping it would be.

With computer, again, the market has changed. People are buying less desktops/laptops, and more tablets/smartphones, and Sony has failed to keep pace.

Also, let's face it. While Sony has been in trouble for a few years now, and again, it has bigger issues than the gaming division, the fact that Vita is doing really poor, so far, is not exactly helping,.

I've been long around to see a lot of topics and layoffs that people were actually saying that. Also, students trying to make it in life by getting a loan to afford educations...were simply scolded with "Your own fault, you shouldn't have gotten a loan/education." America is really generous by destroying two whole countries in the middle east, only to "rebuild" them by putting their own businessmen to buy up land and properties. Divide and con uer. Now that the americans have had a taste of karma, only then empathy shows.

It's also funny how Apple and Microsoft are outsourcing more and more of their jobs and factories to China.

If the war on terror is "destroying 2 whole countries in the Middle East" then you sir are confused.

Also I would like a Link to a CREDIBLE source reporting about American business men who are buying up land and property in these same countries.

Manufacturing for almost all electronics companies happens in China. Its the only way to keep costs down.

Again just because a select few fanboys make silly comments doesn't mean they represent the entire U.S. population. To add to that you should already know they are being silly because they are posting in a Videogame Fanboy Forum. That alone means everything on here should be taken lightly.

they already downsized quite a bit in their games department between 2011 and 2012, isn't it enough already?

Many of those companies were closed but i know they definitely scavenged some of the workers for other projects. The Liverpool team in particular is part of a different team now i think.

I want the revolution of the proletariat for Microsoft employees to take over Microsoft headquarters and give CEOs a good spanking while ridding the world of Windows.

I sure do dammit. I hope Sony dies and the executives get so down and out that they are living under a bridge high as hell on street meth and eating beans with a stick and possibly drinking their own urine.

LMFAO lems don't even need cows or sheep to make them look lame they do it themselves

[QUOTE="mems_1224"][QUOTE="jsmoke03"][QUOTE="mems_1224"] how is it milkage if they completely redo the graphics on a 10 year old game and add online multiplayer? dont most people want games they love released with better graphics? there are a ton of games i want released with better graphics and online play. since its halo though its milkage

milkage cuz its a re-release. if you wanted online mp for halo 1, they should have just made the maps on halo 3 or halo reach, or halo odst or all the other games that have released this gen...halo has had 5 releases in one gen....yea thats milkage imo...it doesn't matter if its good or bad because as much as cod gets bashed for milking...it hasn't released a bad game on a 360 or a ps3 system (i know they score decent or bad on the wii and 3ds)

so you agree that god of war and uncharted are getting milked? btw, the clasic map pack was available on halo reach as well.

if i see one more uncharted on ps3 then yea....i don't concern myself with handhelds.... god of war....yea...they are going on their third compilation.... oh and since halo reach had the map pack...what was the point of bringing up halo 1 ce having mp....thats more milkage... and im curious....did you bring up those 2 titles because you think im a fanboy or i would be offended because i do most of my gaming on the ps3? theres a lot of milking going on with all companies...not just one. don't try to justify it because you don't want to be associated liking a franchise thats being milked. Who the fvck cares....if you like a game then be milked....ive given in to buying compilations, dlc's, retro re-releases and cod....and i enjoy it....

[QUOTE="spiderluck"] I dont think there are that many Japanese Lemmings :P

DarthClark

But plenty of English ones, most of which are good people and respectful gamers, but... there are quite a few here on SW that constantly hate any and all things Japanese (and not all of them are lemmings btw).

I cant forgive Japan for pearl harbor. It just rubbed me the wrong way.

Only just forgiven America for that. Man Ben Affleck has made some questionable choices. :P

No lem said that, it's funny cows seem to enjoy it the most as proved by the cow king PinnacleGamingP's comment on the first page. And I quote "finally, filtering the crap so now the games will be even more quality will real devs only remaining".

Cows should just voluntarily pony up about 20 - 25 bucks a month for PSN and help'em out for crying out loud. :o I mean, PSN is at least worth that right ?

Anyhoo, I'm thinking with the right leadership, things around the world will improve a great deal and hopefully people losing jobs for the past four years will find even better, higher paying work just around the corner or at least that's my hope.

Hang in there Sony.

What does this have to do with gaming? The lay-offs were all from the cellphone division (even the chemical plant was likely just making cellphone batteries). Sony has been taking a beating in the cellphone market, but the company is fairly insulated and what happens in one division doesn't have much effect on the other divisions (ie just because the cellphone division takes a hit doesn't mean the entertainment or gaming division takes one).
