First PS3 screenshot of Crysis 2....I'm not floored, and my jaw is not dropped.

For the longest time, I've been hearing about how Crysis 2 is gonna be this be all end all, and prove once and for all that Multiplatform games can be every bit the tech. marvels as 1st Party exclusive games.

But I gotta tell you folks, to date, I've seen nothing super impressive about Crysis 2 for consoles. I mean, this pic and others look nice, but nothing that has made my eyes open wide. I've seen nothing nothing that has made me stop what I'm doing and say "holy spit...that is sick".

Killzone 3 has made me do that on many occasions....I mean the first time you see that Melee eye gouge kill animation, how can you not have your jaw dropped?

I'm sure Crysis 2 on consoles will be a nice game.....but so far....all I see is another shooter...something along the lines of Singularity. We'll see, I guess....but color me underwhelmed at this point.

So it's just another shooter because you think the graphics are poor? Crysis is the last thing before being "just another shooter".

Well, at least they got the lighting/atmospheric effects up and running. It doesn't seem to have that ugly bloom effect as much as it seems. Lord, bloom has got to be the worste thing to happen to console graphics this gen. The equivalent to fog in the N64/ps era.

Killzone 3 looks at least 3 times better. Seriously... :|

That's Crysis on Med-High minus the large environents. Pretty good for a console.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a gamer. My fav. shooter this year is BFBC2....it was great...well, the multiplayer was at least....the single player was a bit of a let down...but that's for another time.

The point is, I want my games to drop my jaw on the floor....I want that "oh spit" moment. I want games to be impressive.

What I'm saying is, is so far, Crysis 2 hasn't done that yet

I'm still patiently waiting on that moment out of Crysis 2.

That's all I'm saying...there's no bias here...just the truth.

I didn't expect them to go any higher than that, looks great for consoles' level though.

That looks absolutely fine, but it's also from a presentation in August, and probably actually taken well before that. The recent trailer is more representative of the graphics than that picture, though not necessarily of the PS3 version. Here're the screens I took:

The lighting is pretty good, but everything else is average.

People should look at the 360 beta footage. Its probably a good indication of wht the PS3 version will look like (in motion), and for the record it looks fantastic.

Consoles actually seem to be coping quite well. Granted, it'll likely be nowehere near the PC version, but i'm pleasantly surprised.

Nothing special. Poor draw distance and washed out textures. Even Resistance 3 looks better than this. Judging from the screenshots and videos from upcoming games, Rage>Uncharted 3>KillZone 3> Resistance3> Crysis 2> Infamous 2. But ofcourse fanboys will disagree with me.

The draw distance is laughable. I hope it's just 'cause it's a foggy morning or something.

But yeah, pretty good for a console, specially ii it's actually 720p and not sub-HD like most console titles now a days.

well... fanboys have to downplay crysis 2 if it may be the best looking console game, that happens to be on the 360, while looking worse on the ps3. Crytek better not let me down. Where's that darn ps3 footage?! :P

Crysis 2 on consoles will have it rough looking better than killzone 3 though.

the graphics look good, not great, but good.

Atleast the 360/PS3 gamers should consider themself lucky for having one of the PC's powerhouse on their console...

I am not floored either, but it certainly looks plenty good enough for me. No complaints here. Still going to get the PS3 version for the free online. (PC not being an option for me, of course.)
