Was there even a hype thread. It should have been AAA but I don't remember seeing anything.
The best racer is even better.
There was no hype thread and nobody made one for it.
Which means it didn't flop?
But yes, the series needs to take a break.

Why? Reviews are very very positive, I don't see a reason to take a break... What's wrong with a 2 year development cycle?
At the moment there still isn't any racing game that comes close to its completeness
Ehh, more proof that I'm really not a fan of the whole integer rating system that Gamespot now employs.
Especially for higher rating games, I believe it ties the hands of reviewers too much.
For example, an 8.5, 9, and 9.5 all become 9's because of either being mathematically rounded up, or if there is a serious complaint, they feel like they can't give it a 10.
Oddly enough, Forza 6 scored lower on Gamespot yet, so far, has a 10-point higher score on Metacritic than Forza 5, which is an enormously higher rating given the nature of averages.
Probably not going to buy it anyway given my hearty backlog of games, and I think MGS 5 (and hopefully Arkham Knight if the PC patch comes out) will keep me busy until Halo 5 drops.
@FastRobby: Even though Horizon is a different game it is the same game in essence. No need to milk a franchise into oblivion. Take four years off and end the console with a great racing game.
Horizon is being developed by a different studio... You've got the brand name "Forza", and then different styles of racing games. If they would make shitty games like CoD, then I would understand when you say that they should take more development time. That isn't the case now. The game is amazing, so there is no need to wait.
To be fair, it's not hard to squeeze out a game every two years when you outsource half the work to Vietnam.
So it is better then 5 in many ways but gets a lower score? I guess it is because of the yearly Forza game release but that is still poor reviewing. If a game is better, their fatigue of the series should not be a factor for the score. MS should not have attached the Forza name to Horizon since different devs and style. Even though though the games are different seeing Forza yearly hurts them.
Sounds like a great game though but Horizon is more my cup of tea.
Awesome scores! Also 89 on Meta now with a 9 on IGN as well, sounds like the best racer released so far this gen as far as critics go. I didn't need reviews to tell me that though, the demo was such a blast.

I would have to agree.. either the game should be reviewed on it's own merits as a single title or they should include "not a huge leap from previous Forza titles" in the BAD section of the review..
In the end though, if you read the review, the game is virtually flawless.. So the 8/10 final score shouldn't deter a racing fan from picking up arguably the best racing game on the market.. It's just a shame that without the proper context, some more casual readers may see the review score and simply assume that Turn 10 dropped the ball somewhere when in fact, they turned in their best Forza to date..
THAT'S why the reviewer needs to properly explain his reservations about the game and/or series instead of leaving it up to interpretation.... ..
I'm not seeing how a 8 is a flop...it says, "great" under the number lol. So, another "great" game for the XB1?
Great score and good thing that it's doing better on Metacritic than Forza 5 as well, considering more content in this one than the last game.
Lower rating than F5 on Gamespot seems a bit odd though but still a great score. Wish we had Split/Second 2. Not a Sim but first one was a great arcade racer.
EDIT:
Read some comments... According to rules: No hype thread = No flop.
8 is a great score
No idea why people say that's a flop
Its a silly game they play here. If a game is "hyped" at a certain level, and does not reach said level, it is deemed a flop. Forza 6 was hyped AAA, I believe. Its a stupid thing fanboys do to make their existence seem less pathetic.
Wow, people were claiming this Forza 6 game set for a definite 10/10 by Gamespot.com in that other thread. 8/10 GS instead, eh?
The logic being that Forza 5 as half baked as it was got a 9/10 at Gamespot.com even though Forza 5 was a 79/100 metascoring game. I think GS just came to their senses and aren't overrating the series anymore.
This does seem to be the best Forza yet though, for fans of racing and Forza.
It's still early, but Forza 6 is sitting at a 89/100 metascore with 26 reviews. It seems GS is right on the money in comparison to Forza 5 which they overrated.
Fans should be happy another good racing game is here.
According to you, Forza 5 is overrated on Gamespot with a 9/10 but a 79/100 metascoring. If Forza 6 remains at 89/100 on meta score with a 8/10 on Gamespot, wouldn't you agree that this particular title is now being underrated? (again, that's a big IF but for the sake of argument, i'm talking hypothetically)
I'm basically speaking in reference to your statement that "GS just came to their senses and aren't overrating the series anymore".. If that metascore holds, that would stand to reason that they aren't "right on the money" since a 89/100 is basically 9/10 yet they "underrated" it with a 8/10.. Just curious
Other than that, you're right, this game looks amazing for fans of racing and fans of the series..
LOL,
Another flop for lemmings.
Anyway they're getting used to it now so I hope they can handle it.
Enjoy FLOPZA 6 though.
Was there a hype thread? what was the hype?
you know the rules , no hype thread NO flop.
Nice damage control.

@daious: No flop sorry. Thanks for playing.
I see you really can't read. I never said it flopped. I said the opposite. I said there are so many people talking about it flopping despite the game getting a great score...
you upset him with your b4x comment, since he is b4x.
The good news - Xbox One finally gets another great exclusive. The bad news - I hate racing games. Figures.

haha, not sure how a racing would ever make me butthurt. that said, i am suffering from chronic ring sting today. its either due to a vindaloo from the weekend or too much cajun chicken last night. definitely nothing to do with a clampit like you
Whatever helps your butthurt lemming.
Enjoy Flopza though.
Forza horizon 2 also scored 8/10 and forza 5 which scored 9/10
How do you not know this?
Killer line up, bruh
