Another year, another forza.
Well we have seen a decline in the series. From 9 down to 8 now. Real world concern.
A bunch of losers in the article crying about an 8.
A bunch of losers in this forum calling it a flop even tho it got an 8.
Some people are just too stupid.
Another year, another forza.
Be that as it may in name, but Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Horizon 2 are pretty different.
To be fair, it's not hard to squeeze out a game every two years when you outsource half the work to Vietnam.
yeah, just like driveclub. when did the online fail?
Was there even a hype thread. It should have been AAA but I don't remember seeing anything.
The best racer is even better.
There was no hype thread and nobody made one for it.
I think the review came too early, the game doesn't release for a week so maybe it would have happened in the next few days.
Either way this is a day one buy for me, the demo was fantastic.
Great review from The Verge
This is a better review of the game , but man does the SP sound easy.
A Zonda at level 10 by the spin system?
And linear progression.
which is by far the best point of the game... i don't have to grind if i don't want to...
Game looks great, but since this is System Wars let me put on that hat:
LOL scored worse than Forza 5 here on GameSpot, it's crap: confirmed. Cross one off the chalkboard!

Yeah , but the game is linear , so the Zonda is all you will need untill it forces you to go retro.

I think the reviewer of Forza 5 got sucked up into the hype of the game and a new console generation more than the actual game itself. Forza 5 should have been rated like a 7 or so, not because of its mechanics or anything but because of the content, or lack thereof at release. They overrated that game by a pretty large margin and just looking at metacritic they are underrating this game given the vast amount of improvements and lush content.
This game should be the 9, and Forza 5 a 7 or 8.
To be fair, it's not hard to squeeze out a game every two years when you outsource half the work to Vietnam.
yeah, just like driveclub. when did the online fail?
Are they making another Driveclub for release in a year?

the question to ask is, when will they release a decent one?

don't think they have finished the last one yet......have they?
It's a pretty complete game now, but it's also a month short of a year after release.
So I just read that 60/100 GamesRadar review and oh boy is that guy hoping for clicks, this is a 'simulation' racer where you start from the pits of nothing and work your way up just like every other simulation racer and he's bashing it for having to go through the hoops to get nice things and get to the exciting races with fast cars. On top of this he's bashing its "inconsistent" difficulty, or in other words the Drivatar system, something that reflects more realistically how a race actually is than any form of pathed and programmed AI.
Difficulty will vary, things will change, it's supposed to reflect human tendencies, mistakes, lack of mistakes and in other words a race that humans are in. This also ties into the payout system which he is also bashing, it's inconsistent because it's based upon your performance in the race, if you do bad, rewind, crash into a bunch of shit, you're going to get a lower payout, this isn't advanced physics here...
This is also the guy who gave Driveclub an 80/100, that in and of itself is a fucking joke, this to me is someone not being objective, someone not into simulation racers and more into the Need for Speed kind of game and someone hoping to garner attention to his website. I realize that a review is subjectivity, but when your basis for bashing aspects of a game are illogical given the context of the game, you have no business reviewing it.
the question to ask is, when will they release a decent one?
Current one is pretty good TBH.
Though I feel you're deflecting from the biennial, soulless nature of Forza now.
Solid score, but at this point the series is going to have to do something really radically new or exciting to bring it back to the AAA score. Just like sports games, racing games just stagnate. Having weather and night time races is a much needed addition to the core of Forza, but it's more expected of the series at this point rather than a really exciting new feature.
I plan on picking it up since I love the series.

you seem to have a soft spot for forza (or played both horizon and motorsport to know they're completely different) because normally a blind cow would've said "annual!!"
uhh.. the best racer of this gen
Nope.
well... what other sim?
Well , have you tried Dirt Rally?
Or the Moto GP games , or WRC?
Or the upcoming Loeb Rally game?
Night driving was done in Shift 2 and rain is in all Rally games , so this only offers a few tweaks and a better garage. Not best , but refined.

"offers only a few tweaks"
how many of them are actually finished games? they are games in progress...
Another goalpost move from the cows as usual. Now 8 means flop in these forums.
Xbox games might was well only be judged from 1-9 since they get an automatic -1 from being reviewed by PS4 fans and PS4 games need to be 2-11 since they get an automatic +1 like Journey for some reason.
Failza 6 just another annual trash like Ass Creed and COD. Sad how Lemmings rely on a racer... A Racer

annual trash? best racing sim in this gen by far.. what does PS4 have in racers? driveclub? lol
Wow, people were claiming this Forza 6 game set for a definite 10/10 by Gamespot.com in that other thread. 8/10 GS instead, eh?
The logic being that Forza 5 as half baked as it was got a 9/10 at Gamespot.com even though Forza 5 was a 79/100 metascoring game. I think GS just came to their senses and aren't overrating the series anymore.
This does seem to be the best Forza yet though, for fans of racing and Forza.
It's still early, but Forza 6 is sitting at a 89/100 metascore with 26 reviews. It seems GS is right on the money in comparison to Forza 5 which they overrated.
Fans should be happy another good racing game is here.
According to you, Forza 5 is overrated on Gamespot with a 9/10 but a 79/100 metascoring. If Forza 6 remains at 89/100 on meta score with a 8/10 on Gamespot, wouldn't you agree that this particular title is now being underrated? (again, that's a big IF but for the sake of argument, i'm talking hypothetically)
I'm basically speaking in reference to your statement that "GS just came to their senses and aren't overrating the series anymore".. If that metascore holds, that would stand to reason that they aren't "right on the money" since a 89/100 is basically 9/10 yet they "underrated" it with a 8/10.. Just curious
Other than that, you're right, this game looks amazing for fans of racing and fans of the series..
Well, remember too we should really look at the metascore in a month to see F6's real ranking since it's way too early. However, I've learned for years that metascores seem to go steady or down slightly before finally tapering off. I think based on years of looking at metascores, Forza 6 will probably land at a 87 (Halo 4, Batman Arkham Knight, Resistance 2, level). I would agree this title being very slightly underrated if I didn't know better to wait for more reviews for metacritic to compile which will be a month from now. Pretending that it's been a month and Forza 6 somehow mystically maintained a 89/100 (more reviews = greater chance of going down as I've seen over the decade), then yes, GS would be slightly underrating F6, but they super overrated F5 by comparison.
Of course, that is to say we have to completely throw out the opinion angle, which is every reviewer has their own opinion and not much we can do about that. Plus, it's been a few years and the competition and expectations of racing games have increased. I don't think anyone should point at Forza 5's terrible review as a reason for Forza 6's review. Forza 5's review was broken and we can all look back and see how much content the game was lacking since it was a rush job launch game.
Regarding 90+ metascores? It's incredibly hard to get a 90+ on metacritic which Bonnie Ross spoke about regarding 343's goal to make a 90+ game and haven't done so yet (they wanted to match or best Bungie's Halo games). It's a magical barrier that the industry, developers, and publishers strive for.
That said, GS typically underrates their titles about a point lower than metacritic, which is very, very, very typical for gamespot.com, making the Forza 5 super overrated case that much more peculiar. Then again, The Last of Us was a 95 on metacritic and it got an 8/10 at Gamespot.com. Then, The Last of Us was remastered and included all the DLC and it still got an 8/10 on GS again and the remastered TLOU got a super high 95/100 metascore as well. That's a game that went on to get 200 different Game of the Year awards at various websites and magazines, but was only a 8/10 at GS...
That's Gamespot.com's reviews for ya. Another year, another good Forza game for racing fanatics to enjoy.
Anti-XboxSpot. The demo is the best Forza I have ever seen or experienced so far. The full game will be a masterpiece to true racing game enthusiast. Forget this reviewer and his mom.

And when GT5 got an 8.. it was considered a flop.
lmao

yeah its funny Polyphony take years and years to put out a game and its still not to the quality of "annual trash" Forza
LOL
I just couldn't really get into the demo much...once you have played the past games, they just start to get repetitive. Much bigger fan of the Horizon spin offs! Might have to pick up Horizon 2 again with the DLC if that comes out
damn... that salt that forza always look after you...

Racers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Stealth games and RPG's.
Another high scoring addition to the Forza series which is the standard of the racing genre. I don't even think their competitors are trying anymore or maybe they're trying but Forza just set the bar so high it's tough to do anything spectacular like the award winning Forza. Forza remains king of racing.

And so is Pcars.
You can say it's the best Forza for now , but the best racer this gen? No.
