Again it's not silly to simulate time of day changes. You can do this in shortened time conditions. Assetto Corsa does this. The different here is that a simulation game will simulate the effects of temperature change and the relationship of the grip of your tire. Extending gameplay challenge. Where arcade will do just the aesthetics. If you truly want to push your standard of real let's be honest this game gt they are all silly and fake as shit. It's not real time simulation.

DC looks awful, deal with it. I was excited to play it (and it was free you idiot, I didn't pay a penny) but the game is bad and ugly. Need For Speed on 360 from a decade ago looks the same, and plays better. All the good screenshots are just from Photo Mode. The actual game is ass.

Btw, Forza 6 is the highest rated racer this gen, you unbelievably stupid fanboy.

@ermacness: please. I base my experience on actually playing Driveclub. The game is bad. It tries to be both a sim and an arcade racer and is stuck in terrible zone between the two. I guess if you don't actually really like racing games and only care about graphics you think Driveclub is good. But seriously it's pretty terrible you can't even drift in Driveclub.

They should have just made it a full on arcade racer I'd give it so props.

Funny, so have I and I disagree with some ( if not most) of your points (and in some cases, I highly disagree). I think it does a wonderful job of blending the 2 together. Most reviews aks agree. The major complaint comes from the condition of the game main feature "multiplayer" at launch. It was also lacking a bit in content, but not greatly. The last thing I saw reviews complain about this game was visuals and the gameplay.

I'm nowhere near a great (or even good) driver and even I was easily able to drift the cars not to mention that the game actually had "DRIFT CHALLENGES" for one to compete in against a friend or anyone. We must've been playing 2 separate games.

@Chutebox: yes. they have a facsimile of what is supposed to be drifting but in reality its a joke.

The problem with DriveClub its like 70-percent arcade and 30-percent sim, and the physics and controls in the game are bad. Yeah it has a 'drift' mode but the actual act of drifting has nothing to do with how a car actually drives. In Driveclub, the cars are far too sticky in high speed corners and the oversteering actually works the opposite of how it does when you are driving a real car. In short the game is terrible. Like I said they should have just made it 100-percent arcade and I would actually give it some props, but comparing DriveClub to Forza 6 is laughable. Forza 6 isnt 100-percent sim either its more like 70 sim 30 arcade, but its damn sure better than DC by miles and miles.

Things wrong with DC (not counting the network problems at launch which flopped the game)

1. game has a limited number of cars (75 versus Forza 6's 460) and no American or Japanese cars. This is a major fail in itself.

2. Wonky handling; cars are way too sticky in high speed corners (to be fair supercars in Forza 6 arent sticky enough imo)

3. If you drive off the track in DC in 3 seconds it resets you

4. No rewind

5. No customization

6. AI is terrible

7. No real tracks

8. Damage is only cosmetic

9. weather effects are cosmetic

10. Because it has no customization, the game doesnt really differentiate between things like front and rear wheel drive

11. 30 fps

Cows really are reaching even trying to put DriveClub in the same league as Forza 6. Its a BS smoke and mirrors tactic by cows in this forum even mentioning DC when you talk about Forza. DC is a huge flop and comparing a flop to a good game is doing the good game a disservice, trying to drag it down to the flop's level.

And that gif that cows keep posting is cherry picking at its finest. The Forza camera is on far follow to purposefully try and make it look bad.

Drive club has a great lighting engine and weather system, apart form that the rest of it meh.

I can literally circle the repeated vegetation and low resolution normal maps.

And that 'smeared in vaseline' look it has takes away any sharpness 1080p gives it and makes it looks muddy and hard to enjoy.

Night time races look damn near Real. Game is Amazing. Wish you guys would stop being fanboys for a day and give Forza 6 a try. The Demo build did not do the final game Justice.

Well , just got the F6 Bone so i will see for myself if this is good.

I strongly disagree with this one. The decision to put rewind in a racing game (and put it on an easy-to-reach bumper button) really breaks the flow of the game. It's also a bad crutch when you start playing multiplayer, where the feature is removed for obvious reasons. I know it's optional, but I wish there was a way to turn it off.

Weather isn't cosmetic, it absolutely affects car handling.

Front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive cars all handle completely differently in Driveclub, as they do in pretty much even the most arcade-style racing games.

There's no tuning in Driveclub, just as there was no tuning in the PGR series, and both have fun, though exaggerated, drifting mechanics.

Its not bad enough idiots comparing Driveclub at 30fps to Forza 6 at 60fps.

You are now using a 30fps YouTube video to compare the two and are complaining that from the video Forza looks less than 30fps.

Forza 6 is more simulation and the over effects of rain, night/day and tires is far more real than Driveclub, Drive club is arcade and at times looks better, the rain looks better.

Driveclub would look worse at 60fps, just like Forza 6 would look better at 30fps. YOU CANNOT COMPARE THE TWO.
