Review
I'm still picking it up, but I didn't expect it to go like this. Thoughts? This change your mind?

Not liking your new avatar and sig freedom.
Man WTF !
All other websites are like 10 9.5 9 , but Kevin 7 :|
I take Kevin as one of the best reviewers out there but .....dunno.... it got me messed up!
TBH I'm willing to give Kevin the benefit of the doubt here as this is a high profile title that I can see every other site loosing their shit over without really giving it a critical once over. The same thing happened with Skyward Sword on Gamespot... then a month after the game came out legions of people appearing voicing the same criticisms that (non-Gamespot) reviewers mysteriously never addressed.
never letting a review decide for me. I liked what I saw and it looks like an improvement over Arkham City in every way. So the annoyances like batmobile he talked about look like a no issue to me.
Hopefully Rocksteady takes on TMNT or some new IP next. I look forward to playing Arkham knight and see if it meets my expectations.
I can see the seven. I enjoy playing Batman games enough to really enjoy both City and Origins, and I still like Asylum. But it's easy to see someone being worn out on these games due to the simpler nature of a lot of their gameplay. Review makes sense too, the dissonance that Batman doesn't kill people running over them with the Batmobile is hilarious and that last negative sounds a whole lot like the flaws of Asylum. So I guess I'll wait and see.
I was hoping the batmobile wouldn't bring the game down. Hopefully it was just Kevin who didn't enjoy it. Still getting it Wednesday.
Now to wait and see if GS is an outlier
But I guess that is one down for the GS GOTY possibilities
GS usually is an outlier....
A 7 isn't a bad score. You can only make the same game so many times before people grow weary of it.
Called it.
It's called The Dark Knight Rises Syndrome.
I've been saying this game would disappoint since last year, and no one would listen.
Luckily it's still pulling a 91/100 on MetaCritic despite the GameSpot score dragging the average down.

However most other sites have this game higher rated. I don't get why GS scores are so important here.
@LJS9502_basic: I get the feeling that might be because we *are* on Gamespot, but don't quote me on that.
EDIT: Dark Knight Rises mostly got great reviews too. It's easy to be blinded by the hype.
what a crock of Shit

I'm not totally surprised. Hell I was afraid that RS was going to shoehorn the Batmobile into places where it didn't belong, and VanOrd more or less "confirms" that. Also, there's no way you expect me to believe that Batman isn't killing anyone by shooting or running someone over with that thing.
I'm still getting this game sooner or later, but in all honesty I would have preferred them ending it after Arkham City.
I'm not worried, no offense to the reviewer but I almost never agree with any of his non-RPG reviews. His specialty is reviewing RPG games, he seems to overanalyze action adventure titles....so a 7 from him reads like a 9 from someone else, as far as these kind of games are concerned, imo anyways.
Maybe the game isn't that amazing, I have not played it yet but I somehow doubt its worse than the previous Batman title, and that is all I am looking for, except on next Gen.
This generation truly is a prick. One of the only games I've been looking forward to for two years, gets a 7.
@freedomfreak: watched the video review, felt it was sloppy. A lot of things were skipped and not actually explained

7 is still "good."

He isn't a critic. he is a videogames reviewer.
While I am here, i would also like to say, that games reviewers aren't jouranlists either.
For the first thing, are you actually serious in saying that? The objective of video game reviews, hell all reviews in general is to form a critique.
And while you're still here, nobody is saying critics are journalists. I agree that they're not one and the same. But in the industry it's usual for one to take on both roles.
