Most people would rather get the Xbox 360 version, because it's not only cheaper, but looks almost as good as the PC version. Even if the game looks 10% better, that huge price margin makes the difference.Stevo_the_gamer

I like how you use quantified statistics that you don't even back up. I never knew 2048x1536 with 8-16xMSAA and 16xAF is only "10% better" and is "almost as good." I also find it humorous you cite a "huge price margin" when PC gaming is not that much expensive than console gaming on average.

It's not Vista that's crazy. it's that it's x64 AND with SP1! You'll obviously need a supercomputer like that to get playable framerates! And don't a lot of applications/games have issues with 64-bit? It's for graphics designers, not games.

Really? Last I checked, Cod4 PC is $10-$20 cheaper than the 360 version.

Why count consoles or PC price?

Besides, Cod4 is so much better on the PC anyway.

At what, being bloatware?

*sigh* Another Vista hater.

Bloatware? What bull.

Seriously, the lack of information people have is stunning.

Of course, every single new OS is treated like this, so it is to be expected.

At my school, everyone talks about COD4 which is the most overrated trash I've ever played. They all have a 360 and when I said I got it for PC they were like why? The graphics suck, i lol'd.

These graphics suck? (Not my PC in the pic)

Looks so much better than the console versions.

Says alot about the general publics knowledge on PC.

Err, wrong, wrong wrong. Sorry, but you are no offense.

There aren't as many problems with 64 bit things now a days. I hope you were being sarcastic with the supercomputer part lol.

people still buy pc games?? i havent bought a pc game for about 5 years, guess where they all come from now? same place everyone else gets them. pc gaming is a joke anymore, and overall costs more than console gaming, since you have to upgrade every single year to keep up.

Guess you missed my post about how I have bought 12 PC games since January. PC gaming is as expensive as you make it, if you want, it can be cheaper than console gaming.

Knowing how to use a OS that I dislike doesn't have anything to do with my knowledge of games. If I could, I would use Linux exclusively.

Yeah, I'm truly sure a lot of people have PCs capable of running Call of Duty 4 at that resolution with a monitor which supports that very resolution. Regardless, Call of Duty 4 looks better on the PC - but who would honestly want to spend twice to three times as much when you could buy a $280 Xbox 360? Even if the Xbox 360 version looks inferior, the game still looks fantastic. And I was just stating an example, thus why I said "even if" - I was not stating the PC version looks 10% better.

i cant believe youd actually pay for something that a 30 minute download could save you 50 bucks on. thats why most pc games dont sell very well. and last i checked, to play every game that comes out at its max you have to upgrade constantly.

Vista does have bloatware, Dell and Sony give you the choice to remove it all before they ship it to you.

ah, no. things such as graphics cards and what not are quite expensive. Id rather save the couple hundred bucks from buying a top of the line card and spend it on the games that look basically the same on a console. or buy other stuff, for that matter. And as far as piracy goes, i dont condone it, but yet i cant resist getting something for free if it is offered to me. I dont do pc games anymore, but i have done pc apps.

Oh Vandal, you should know installing the OS can take some time, whether it be 15 to 20 minutes, it's still a hassle regardless. Not only that, but installing software such as computer games can take some time as well - such as, for example, installing Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms takes forever - well, not really - but you get what I mean.

Once my computer was built and ready to go, installing a lot of games was quite the hassle - well worth the effort but installing software can be time consuming. Especially if they ask you to "Restart your computer".

Installing the OS? Its funny you're just nitpicking the most minute, single time things. If you really have such a problem installing the operating system, which is just as easy as letting it run for an hour, then have a third party like a computer store asssemble and install your OS. Thats what I do with most of my rigs because I can't take the time to isntall the operating system. Casuitic at best. Unless you have an extremely old CD drive, most installations take about 3-4 minutes. But again, since you're nitpicking two can play at that game. On average I play atleast two-three different games a day. Whenever I'm switching discs I have to scrounge around for it. It usually takes anywhere between 30 seconds to one minute to find a disc, insert, and wait for the game to load up. Thats about 3 minutes daily spent on finding and inserting discs into my console. Add that up over 364.5 days and you're looking at a HUGE number. PC games cap out once you install them and (if necessary) spend a minute looking for a no cd crack. Time consumption increases exponentially on consoles because of this clear fact.

Time consumption increases exponentially on consoles because of this clear fact.Vandalvideo

Haha. Of course not, why would I do such a thing? Such stating the steps one would have to take once their computer is assembled. Or if you have games like Half-Life 2, Doom 3, and Sims 2 whichyou have four CDs to install. (Thank God for DVDs - even though still, some developers use the cheaper CD method). Either way, it's a hassle for me Vandal. I just wish you could play the game, from the disk, WHILE IT's installing. Halo 2 Vista anyone? Now that's a start in the right direction. :P

You're netpicking. Plain and simple. These aren't your grandaddy twenty minute long installations like you find on consoles. These are simple, two to three minute installations. We're talking about modern gaming rigs are we not? The average gaming rig should have ATLEAST a 16X drive. Any less and you're just not modern. With something like that it won't take very long at all for a game to install. If you have the gaul to complain about a short three minute installation you should check your pergoatives. As I've shown, consoles can be extremely time consuming as well if you nitpick. I spend far more time switching discs on consoles than I do worrying about OMG the installations. You're not taking into considerating the BENEFIT of installations. The lack of having to worry about cds. I leave my computer on, like you're supposed to, and If I want to switch from WoW to COD4 its as easy as double clicking an icon. If I want to switch from GTA4 to Crackdown I have to open the drive, find the case for crackdown, switch the disc, and wait for the bios to load up for the system. Over al onger period of time it is just as time consuming as "installations". People who complain about installations are merely digging. Can't stand 3 minutes? Go make a bloody sandwhich.

Clean up your house. ------- Anyway, yes, drivers are a *****. Any hermit can vouch for that. Not only do you have to find the drivers, you have to find the one that personally works for your setup. It can potentially take up to 30 minutes, maybe more if you didn't read the fine print. Even more if you're still running 56k. No I'm not kidding. I've personally compared the time it took to set up software/hardware between my OS X and Windows systems, just to prove to someone a point. But I don't even know if it will get into your head. I mean, you even tried to argue a point with subrosian concerning Assassin's Creed, and that guy is truly manticore, not to mention he had the right idea concerning that topic. So I'm not gonna fret if you don't accept this one. But just remember, there's pros and cons to everything. There is no perfect specimen. Yet the way you talk about the PC, it may as well just be one.

Drivers are not a *****. Wanna know the last time I had to update a driver? I haven't since I bought my PC. IT IS OPTIONAL.Not to mention some games come with the beta drivers you need anyway. PS: I was right about Asassin's Creed. THe PC version is better.

Guess it's a pet-peeve of mine then - I for one absolutely loath downloading and then installing updates, demos and games on my Blu-Ray player(PS3). Xbox 360 isn't plagued with such issue, and as for the Wii - I am unaware of how downloading is. Again, I personally think it's a hassle - with my Xbox 360, I can just open the box and throw in the game and it'll start playing. (Hopefully, I guess one could say the inevitable RRoD may come). And, as long as you're organized, your games should be easy to find and easy to get. Unless you count the time from getting out of your bed, out of your chair/couch ect to change out the disk, I guess it could be time consuming. But hey, if that bothered you that much - devise a plan to make an automatic disk changer.

For the record, I love PC gaming and very much prefer it over the consoles in which I own.

Put it into perspective before you bash something so mundane. A three minute installation is NOTHING., not to mention updates are both infrequent, mostly automatically, and HARDLY REQUIRED.

It's nothing to you; time multiplies, it adds up - each to their own Vandal, some think it may be a nuisance, other don't. Subjectivity Vandal.

Objectivity stevo. Its a universial static. Its not something that adds up over time. If you install a game, its there for you to use whenever you want to. Updates are not required at all, and are option. Besides, if you worry about installations so much use xfire. It looks at the games you have, pre-caches patches for future use, and installs them if you want them. I NEVER update the vast majority of my games because you don't have to. Let me repeat that for emphasis. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO UPDATE. You got that? Great.

Wanna know how cunning I can be using the Hermit Bible? Check this out. PCs are anything you want them to be. With that, comes a whole host of different experiences. A different experience for you, a different experience for me, and a different experience for someone else. So what you experience is not necessarily what I experience. That being said, you can grab a sample population and deduce a mutual agreement between all. What's that mutual agreement? Drivers are a pain in the ballz. Do not even try come up with an argument sourcing internet forums or whatever. You live in cyberspace full of PC Geeks. Only about 10% of PC Owners are geeks that know a thing or two about running computers. Ask lame friends and you'll come to realize they don't like it as well. It's a bloody nuisance. But never fear, you are the master of your domain. And thus in your little bubble sphere, you may embrace drivers as a gift from God, and Assassin's Creed as the Second Coming of Christ, whilst the rest of the world outside whines and moans about those very same things.

Oh, so one's view upon whether or not something is a nuisance or not is not subjective? Interesting idea. Sure they can buy the game, they don't have to install it - they could just let it sit there on their desk for looks, eh? Oh well. Even if they do install it; let's say BF2, for example, let's see them try to play online - nope, can't. Need that dere' update. Again, could be considered a nuisance to some, may not be for YOU, but for some - it may. Again, subjectivity.

Once again, drivers are optional. They are not a pain in the balls unless you WANT them to be a pain in the balls. I've never updated my drivers and all my games run vanilla and work perfectly fine. Welcome to why the PC is so great, OPTIONS. You have the option of updating or not. isn't that great? Once again, you're just like stevo, you're nitpicking something that isn't required. If you want to complain about the process of drivers, then simply don't try to stay up to date. Works fine for me, works fine for you.
