The fact that you can't use a third party wheel with Forza and you can with Gran Turismo automatically makes the gameplay experience much better on GranTurismo.

EmperorSupreme
Thats the silliest thing i've ever read here on GS (well nearly), a third party wheel doesnt fix the flaws in GT that makes it inferior (gameplay wise) to Forza 2 in the first place.
[QUOTE="Snugenz"][QUOTE="masiisam"]Yawnnn...same old thread...
Other than the car models...GT5P is garbage for a SIM....
Rikusaki
Agreed 100%, Polyphony need to forget about making the cars looking as good as possible and start making the game play as good as possible.:?
They also updated the physics... A LOT.
There is a huge difference. The cars handle more realistically and the tires feel like they are gripping to the ground more.
To me it feels much better. I can now tell when the over steer is coming on and even use it to my advantage. I think some of that is down to improved sound as I've noticed the sound of the wheels spinning is more easily discernible and dare I say it, more like the sound my cars make when they struggle for grip.
The brakes and accelerator also seem more analogue and easier to modulate.
With the sound improvements it certainly puts a smile back on my face. :D I never really liked the Spec I physics as I felt it was like driving on ice with poor feedback.
Well...the funny thing is...The physics needed an update...and I said this a 1000 times at launch..but all I heard from cows is....."Nope..they are perfect""BEST SIM EVERRS!!!" "ZOMAG!!! GT%P!!!!"....6 months later they did a very small update to the physics...It's not nearly as "big as you say they are"......It's just enough to make the set-ups I made completely useless... Again... I love how Poly can't even decide on a physics model and completely ruin the hard work "fans" put into the game...

I completely agree..... I just hope......just hope..... Nobody bought a G25 just to play GT5P....Biggest waste of resources...
That's like putting 108 octane race fuel in a 67 ford Pinto

Those are gorgeous pics and that is a very cool thing about Forza. One of my buddies here at work says thats all he does anymore is paint cars. His don't look nearly that good, but he enjoys it.
Personally I don't even paint the cars in Need For Speed, I just care about driving. That's probably why I like GranTurismo more. GT especially with a good wheel is amazing.
Rikusaki
I agree. And I think solid colors look better anyway.
That Fable car was ugly. I would never do that to my car in real life.
And I would never want to do it to my car in Gran Turismo.
Hey man, come on,
It's not right to say the livery/auction house system sucks becouse you don't like one weird themed paintjob.
It's actually an awesome system, theres a big community in that game that builds, and tunes, and sells/buys cars. It's a big part of it. go look at forzamotorsports.net.

I like the cars people paint with the racecar themed liverys, It's more race-like, and less showroom like. In my oppinion,
But I also agree, alot of the paints are overdone, or just kinda fugly. I'll get a picture of a few good ones here in a min.

Those pictures above are amazing, I don't think it's the car models that make it look so good, I think it's the lighting becouse if you haven't noticed it seems like some colors look alot more realistic than others. The lighting those pholphony guys have came up with is godlike.Tobin09
The lighing is very realistic in Gran Turismo. And the environments help add the realism.

I drive, been driving for 7 years now but I don't see how that helps any. I don't think I can compare driving my 85' buick riviera to school or to run erins to a corvette going full throttle on a racing track.
And I have noticed a major update in the physics engine:
Just some quick first impressions:
1. Cars feel a bit more connected to the road. Even less of the driving on ice feeling now. Takes a bit more provoking to get it sideways, but once your there it feels like its for a reason.
2. No more creep across the pavement! Drive onto the banking at daytona and apply the brakes. The car plants itself......finally.
3. Could be my imagination, but it feels as though low speed physics have slightly improved.
4. Turn off abs. At daytona where you first come back onto the banking after the infield section apply heavy braking without locking up. The tires sound like they're skipping along the bumps in that section now. Never noticed that before.
Thats from about 30mins. driving.
Conclusion: Yes.....something is different:DRikusaki
Try the Ferrari California, Pro Physics, no ABS no TCS, with the new update, its a wheel spinning beast! heavy on the front and tough to drive, but its one of the most fun in the game
Haven't driven the GT, but the Evora was too slidy, too limp on acceleration and sounds like a hoover!, but knock it round a corner on the correct Apex and you know its a Lotus

WHAT? Are you kidding me? The California is one of the most easy to drive super cars in the game. lol Sure it whips around corners often, but it grip is great for corrections.
And by teh way. YOU need to get that 1.000.000 GT because it is the most insane car you will drive in the game.

You should call the car manufacturers and let them know. I don't see anyone running to Microsoft or EA. Car manufacturers themselves work with the GranTurismo team and even use GranTurismo technology to demo their cars, but yeh it must be garbage.

GT5 isn't going to be so realistic that once you get hit you'll fly off your couch into your T.V, if your not wearing sometype of seat belt. GT5 will be fun... Forza 2 is fun... there are certain things you can't stop gamers from doing in your game unless you want to make it not fun. Forza 2 is every much a bumper car sim as GT5....by your logic.
