That was scored before GameSpot dropped the decimal from their scores, so let's be honest here - it would get a 9/10 by today's scoring. And for the record, it scored 9.4.

I don't believe any Gran Turismo game "beat" a Forza Motorsport game from a score standpoint when looking at version vs version in the same generation and time frame (like Gran Turismo 4 Vs Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo 5 vs Forza Motorsport 2); but the difference is quite small. They are on par with each other, IMO.

8 is great but I’m sticking with Forza.

If it has been built from the ground up for this gen hardware - why is it on the PS4?

you know whats worse about this 8/10 score?? This is literally cowspot, where they gave ff7 remake, and intergrade a 10/10, deathloop (which was thought to be sony exclusive) a 10/10, then demon souls remake a 10/10, and lastly, the sony owned game elden ring a 10/10. They give out 10s like nothing to the cows, because this is cowspot. Which is why we've always had a rule for ps games, deduct 1 for ps5 games, add 1 for the xbox games.

If gt scored an 8, that means its really a 7 :D

Yes no doubt, unless Forza magically appears on PS5, GT is the best racing game to play on that console.

You sound really salty. FF7 is not a Sony game. Deathloop is not a Sony game. Sony doesn't own Elden Ring, but I'm sure they wish they did.

Do you know what Sony games have scored in the recent past? GT7: 8. Horizon FW: 8. Returnal: 9. Miles Morales: 7. R&C 9.

The only one they gave a 10 to was Demon's Souls.

the cows just can't catch a break. First the activision buyout news in january..honestly I never seen cows so quiet on GS for a week when that news hit. Its like the cows just dissapeared off the website. Then in february when horizon forbidden west flopped, and finally now GT7.

no, GS is still cowspot and always will be. Sony sends them the truck full of cash every year. But regardless of that, they still have to maintain their "professional integrity". They literally gave away 5 10s to playstation games in a span of a month, many of those were suspect. They need to maintain an image to keep their credibility.

I didn't really care for Gran Turismo back in the day, but my sim-tolerance is a fair amount higher now (As in I'm willing to play racing games with no "turbo" button). May check this out when it comes to PC.

If you're on PC then you don't need to wait for GT7 to go there. There are plenty of really good sims on PC. Assetto Corsa, iRacing, and rFactor are a few notable ones.

@Zero_epyon: . Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried Assetto Corsa and it is good, but a bit too sim for me. Plus, people on Steam say it's best played with a wheel. I think GT is supposed to be more sim-cade and built for gamepads.

Honestly, I might just be better off playing Grid.

Yeah if you don't want to go the wheel route then GT is a good start. I will be using a wheel for GT and the PC sims.

Excellent tech demo so can't wait to see if Sony's rumored Motorstorm resurgence will get half as much care in crafting then we'll be in for a treat.

Sony has delivered on the full and easy utilization of their Kraken tech, meanwhile some other entity only use it to resume games.🙄

Bit of an anti-climax. Cows were really talking up their big three games this year. Two of them have had their 8s so one left now.

Sony are odd. First they release HFW next to Elden Ring, now they're releasing GT7 so soon... I thought they'd save that for the summer or something and release GoW 2 in the Winter.
