DR3 mattered and KI mattered. I'll admit, i'm damage controlling with KI, because it got docked for a lack of content... Even though it's a free-to-play game and we all know the content will come.
I care about KI and Forza 5.
Most of the threads I saw about Ryse were about the graphics. I really don't see cows ruffling any feathers, with this ownage to be honest. Even the previews were saying the gameplay wasn't great.

I said that because they sound like they have pretty much the same problems (shallow gameplay, crappy plot, etc) and they got the same score. tried to optimistic by thinking perhaps there was more to the game than what met the eye. I guess I was sorely mistaken. I wonder how Crytek will respond to this and if Ryse will get a sequel...
Hyping off launch games alone is stupid. anyone buying one of these systems should know what they are buying into as a whole system not just 1 or 2 games that are available at launch.

Interesting point, I thought of it myself, it definetly looks like it. Gamespot used to be a lot more severe and their reviews differed wildly from other media outlets in the 1990s too.
I'm pretty disappointed because I was really looking forward to this game. I'm still getting it, I want to see for myself. A bad Gamespot review is not the end of it, I've disagreed with them many times in the past, and the Metacritic score now sits at 60 with 22 reviews.
@kuu2: I'll still be playing it during my marathon starting at midnight. I gotta see for myself. Plus the visuals still have me curious. Still got that launch megaton coming soon:). What could it be????

Both line-ups are sh*t, I've said it a thousand times here but it was the only (weak) argument lemmings had to counter the PS4.
PS4 launch is still a big success though so TLHBO a LOT more than cows.
How? At least the X1 has a high scoring game on it. You can damage control all you like. Also Indie games are not held to the same standard in reviews. It wouldn't be fair, they are made by small teams with low budgets and sell for a lot less.
The biggest success with the PS4 is the pre-order sales numbers, but you should also consider the PS4 costs less, so it will sell more until MS can bring the price of the X1 down.
After about 9 months of listening to the cows brag and give the competition a shit kicking, it's more than fair to say, TCHBO with the launch big time.

Agreed, it's excellent, it shows they are trying to use the whole scale. I am especially glad to see super pretty next gen games like Ryse get hammered if they aren't up to snuff in gameplay. Bravo GS, keep up the tough reviews!

Brb every game is mediocre or flopped on GS except for Forza and when we look at metacritic (the more objective view) we see that the Xbone launch games flopped completely. Als indie game or not, Resogun > Xbone games on metacritic, so by your logic PS4 wins the launch games war when you look at metacritic

Bad score. Though not surprising. I personally would rather have Shadowfall than Forza 5. That's just me though. Racing games are a dime a dozen and NFS Rivals has enough speed for me. I have preferred the NFS titles over the sim racers for the past few years so...
