I think it's an awful feature =/ I don't want it in the game.
It's awful because it make the genre more accessible….:?
That's exactly why it's awful. We're playing on a PS3 not a Wii.
Besides GT doesn't need to be more accessible, millions and millions of people believe it's fine the way it is. The game has sold more than the Halo franchise, it doesn't need to have casual lazy crap put in it. If they do atleast have an option to turn it off completely I don't want it on my controller preset at all.

And the fact that you don't have to ever use it makes you fail for even mentioning it.

What's wrong with someone who wants to just get in their favorite car and drive around being able to enjoy a game? I'm pretty sure the game's biggest lure is the cars, not that it's the most realistic sim on the market (which it isn't). Not everyone want's their games to be unforgiving. Plus, more accessibility = more widely appealing game = more sales = better sequel. The feature does no harm to the game and I highly doubt you could come up with even a moderately decent argument as to why it would be best to exclude the feature.[QUOTE="masiisam"]

If your not going to use it and it's not intrusive. I still don't see how the feature affects you.
Its funny this quote was taken a few days after E3 and I find it funny simply because that's what it's seems like is happing
At E3 it seemed like you could rewind the race as far back as you wanted. Is that how it's going to be in the final game?
Dan Greenawalt: "Absolutely. That's what it comes down to. I've got the perspective having worked in racing games. I've heard people, and I know it's going to be the same thing that happened when restart race [was introduced]. I'm going to get people that say, "No, it's not hardcore enough, punish me more." Really what they're trying to say is, punish everyone else – not me, because I'm a really good racer, and I feel like if I don't have everyone else being punished, I'm not proving that I'm great.
Well guess what: great racers are still gonna win. Rewind race doesn't make you any better. It doesn't make you any faster. It doesn't make you any smarter. All it does is give you a proportional response to your mistake."
So to me it sounds like you're a hardcore SIM racer..Is that right?
I dont see why people complain about this feature. I mean why not? No ones making you use it. And everyone(who plays racing sims) knows how annoying it is to be doing great on a race. And then slip up on 1 turn and screw up the whole thing. SO ANNOYING. I like the feature. And for all those "hardcore racing gamers". DONT USE IT!!! Thats simple.
[QUOTE="W1NGMAN-"]I agree with this completely. I like competing in racers even less than competing in shooters. why is that.First off I buy Sim Racers for their Career mode, that's where I invest all my time into....is that hard to comprehend? Must every game be played online?
Jandurin
Haha i bet now all of a sudden this is a good feature for PS3 fanboys not a "major flaw in realism" like with Forza 3
For the people complaining about it: Its optional. You don't have to use it.

I agree...But now that GT is sporting the feature..I wounder what the fanboys have to say that threw it under the bus simply because it's in FM3...

Don't start name calling, over 9 pages over something probably taken out of context. GT5 has 400,000 polys per car, better lighting, and interiors while having more cars on track.... thats something concrete. Not only does forza have this(First?) but its such a chooch idea for a feature. WHY? If they want it more accessible, assuming forza did it for the same reasons, have a beginner difficulty to point of holding your hand and making turn assist stronger on it. Enough with the gimmicks in games.

I just like how it's all "concrete".....I guess if i had to sit on my hands for 6 months to play GT5 ..I would do the same..
I would laugh if the game doesn't actually have that feature. Though it most likely does with what he said. But it is just an assumption. Nothing wrong with it. People don't like it, three words - DONT USE IT. Simple, yet effective. Nothing to complain about. When asked about features that could make the game more accessible to new players, Yamauchi dropped an unexpected bombshell: "you can reverse your game". Assuming we can take this translation literally, Yamauchi must be referring to a "rewind" feature that has recently become popular in other racing series like DiRT, Need for Speed, and Forza. As you may expect, the rewind functionality allows you to "back-up" in time and resume play before you messed up a particular corner. This can come in particularly handy when learning a tough segment of a track, though it is controversial because some players believe having such an option makes it too easy to correct your mistakes.

As long as it's the "good" kind of copying, like Naughty Dog did on Gears 2, I won't complain. :PSo that's why they delayed the game. To copy all the features from Forza 3.

The point is that, what i said is concrete, this thread could be nine pages based on something taken out of context. Please Log In to post.
