GT5 Will Outsell any 360 Exclusive

Total fanboy wishful thinking. First GT5 has the largest buget of any video game EVER. Which was a dumb move and a waste of money. Most of that money has gone to paying salaries over the last 198 years its been in production.

Second why would you put that much money into a racing title? There is only a select type of gamer out there who plays them so no matter how good it is, youcant really sway nerds from RPGs.

Halo has had its time at the top multiple times and even though GT5 looks like it will be really good (when its released in Fall of 2048), it just aint happening.

I'll give you a hint. The list is only 3 games long. halo 3, gears of war 3, left for dead 2, mass effect . gears of war 2 , fable 2 we could do this ALL day if youd like?

The answer is Halo 3, Gears of War 1, Gears of War 2. Those are the only exclusive games that outsold Grand Turismo 5 PROLOGUE.

GT5: Prologue outsold all the other already released games on your list. No shame in that or anything, as it's outsold pretty much everything else on PS3 as well.

I dont think it will simply because halo reach comes out in september and GT5 comes out in november, thats 2 more months of sales for halo reach. but i will definetely be picking up both games.

We'll just have to wait and see, but in that time frame i'm very doubtful.

Fanboys? Historically GT sells HUGE amounts. More then even the largest exclusives (Including Halo)

Who's the say it wont outsell the current 360 exclusives? GT is a HUGE series, especially with people who many around here wouldnt consider real gamers. It has appeal many other games don't.

I just dont see how any of this would matter. None of the money goes to us. All it will do if it sells well is give bragging rights to the cows

GT Gamers are mostly adults, my dad and most of his mates Played it all the time back in the day of PS1/2

GT is kinda targeted at a Mature Casual gaming crowd, when FPS is targeted more at Kids

Brand name means alot ... More then you think. If Forza 3 was named Gran Turismo it would have sold twice as much as it did.

It won't.

It will sell well. But Gran Turismo games build up their sales over time due to generally having good legs saleswise, iirc.

GT5 may be more frontloaded due to the long development time, but it will probably still follow the pattern.

^this. gt games arent as front loaded but have great sales through legs/bundles and for the people talking about install base compare mgs 3 sales to mgs 4 vs their install base.

What is the accumulated sales for GT5Prologue? Maybe that can indicate any thing for GT5.

There is no way GT5 outsells Reach....360 has a larger market share (unlike last gen) than the PS3. GT on the PS2 was that sucessful because of the 100mill+ sold consoles...Sony is in last place this gen.

I believe Gears of War 2 hit the 6 million mark as of last year. And Halo 3 hit the 8 million mark in early 2008. By now, those numbers will reflect differently. Anyone have the exact numbers?Elian2530

as far as I know both GT 1 and GT 4 stopped at 10 million.

According to VG chartz Halo 3 is at 11 million

I don't know how much GT 2 and 3 sold, but I do know that they far surpassed Halo 3

EDIT: nevermind, GT 2 sold 9 million, so if Vgchartz is correct GT 2 did not surpass Halo 3

GT5 will be a system seller, people are waiting for a proper GT game to buy a ps3...a lot of people
