That is the major problem with Gamerankings, it doesn't really take into account the number of reviews. 31 reviewers gave the 360 GTA a 100%. Zelda: OoT only has 32 reviews.

Although the game's immensely fun and it certaily deserver a very high score, it's no 10 game since a 10 implies perfection and there are minor (graphical) flaws here and there. Still, it'll be hard for any game to beat it for goty imo. NielsNL

Sorry, we are comparing a 1998 game to a 2008 game. There weren't as many legit reviewers back then, and therefore OoTs not going to have as many scores.

And there is no rule that says "More reviews = lower rating." Again, what if some of the lower reviews, like gamecritics, were the first to come in, and then the massive wave of 100%s came in after 32 people had reviewed, everyone would be saying "thank god for more reviews."

Need I also point you to the tons of professional reviews that agree with me? There are very few stories in games out now that rival the story in GTA IV. I would suggest actually watching the cutscenes and paying attention to the game.

I actually dislike this story more than the others cause all of the characters in my opinion are very very annoying.

That what the problem is, and no game will ever keep OoT off the number 1 spot because of it. If it is the same number of reivews back when OoT came out as today OoT would be no where near the top of the list (not saying it is a bad game)

I disagree with you on the greatest franchise ever. I would say Zelda or FF is a greater franchise but that my opinion.

I gave my opinion on it. I am stating that people who get paid to professionally critique games do agree with my assessment. And no, Titanic was the highest grossing film of all time, but I can think of very few credible movie reviewers who called it the greatest movie ever, although I am sure that there were a few less prestigious ones who did.

As for who cares, reviews matter to lots of people, in any form of entertainment, gaming included.

And I make my own opinions on games, thank you.

First you didn't read what I said about taking the 32 lowest reviews...

Second, what is gamerankings? It measures, at any given point in time, how critically acclaimed at game was. Assuming GTA4 for the ps3 will drop below OoT aswell, OoT will be the most critically acclaimed game for its time period. That's all it measures.

Gamerankings is not a greatest game of all time list because you can't specifically name a greatest game of all time. Can you name the best song ever? It's impossible.

Yes there are songs, movies, games that mostly everyone can agree are better than others but at every level you can't say that this specific game (movie, song, etc) is better than this other game to everyone.

Think of GTA IV as two basketball teams, GTA IV West (360) and GTA IV East (ps3). The average team scores depends on how many games are played. GTA IV (360) just played more games which means lower or higher averages. This assumption that the 360 score lower than the PS3 version is just redonkalous. And also it seems like more reviewers play the 360 version and not even touch the PS3 version.
