Guild Wars 2 would be dead in a year if it had a subscription fee

Clearly Arenanet knew this, the game has barely any lasting appeal and is a huge massive grind with generic mmo gameplay.

Just because the game is done a bit differently doesn't mean it's better, heart quest are nothing more but NPC's replaced by a heart shaped icon on the map saying go collect 10 eggs, go kill 10 rabbits, and so on.

Once the lower level zones become empty due to everyone leveling up, it's going to be a tough ride for any new players trying to level up in barren zones.

Pretty much if this game had a subcritpion fee, it'd be dead already.

I have never played a Korean game before. I would like to play their games but MMO's like WOW are not games in my book so I cannot play it.

If this game is different from WOW then I might try it because it is free.

I'm still early on in the game and enjoying it, but no way would I pay 15 dollars a month to play, even if I won the lottery.

This was after having a civil and level-headed discussion with a moderator on a political/social topic in a thread in the Off-Topic forum that was discussing said topic.
