[QUOTE="PS2_ROCKS"]I think Call of Duty 4 sucks, but not quite as much as Halo 1 or 2. What did these overrated games bring to the industry? Overhauled physics, gameplay, AI, story? No, just better graphics and an online experience people go crazy for. Compare Half Life 2's campaign to either of these games and it easily stomps them. But I'm certain you haven't beat Half Life 2 and is probably the kind of gamer who skips all the cutescenes of a game so you can get on with the killing. So what you probably meant to say is you think Half Life 2 is overrated because it doesn't have a multiplayer feature.super_mario_128
Did you originally intend to make your post as ironic as it is?
Half Life 2 doesn't have cut-scenes.
Half Life 2: Deathmatch and Counter Strike Source are both online and come bundled with HL2.
I'd played through Half-life 2 multiples times since I first bought it many years ago, I'm actually playing through it right now again to kill some time. I can honestly, without a doubt, say that I would choose Halo: Combat Evolved's single player over Half-Life 2s. But, this is all subjective of course.
To my knowledge, Half-life 2 has two cutscenes - the beginning, and the end. :P
Deathmatch didn't ship with Half-Life 2 - Counter Strike Source is a seperate game and thus cannot be compared to any other game with Half-Life 2.
[QUOTE="ninjaxams"][QUOTE="KrazyKev26"]ok what do you think is better? Halo?.gecko_hawaii13
my favorite FPSs don't matter here. i don't want this thread to become a bunch of fanboys knocking my favorite titles because i pointed out several flaws in their favorite game. this thread is about hl2... Translation: I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
Actually - this isn't about what his favorite shooter is - this is about Half-life 2 not being the greatest First Person Shooter ever made. For the sake of what you were trying to do - I'll tell you mine, Halo: Combat Evolved for the original Xbox. No game comes close to that game and the experience it brought me. Sure, I've played Quake, Unreal, Half-Life, Battlefield, Stalker, Fear, Marathon, Doom - none of those franchises or games really gave me the experience I had with Halo. Sure, you can find many faults in Halo - I recognize its unbalanced weaponry and vehicles, and it's linear gameplay. But I can always lash back at what it excels in.
