Halo Killer is a stupid term. No FPS can beat Halo in popularity right now. Game companies use it for hype.
And yes, I think it will get to 10 million.
So i answered both questions :)

Halo killer?
Killzone 2 imo was just as good as halo 3, not really better but just as good imo.
But tbh nothing will beat the popularity of halo, at the end of the day when it came on the xbox it was a huge thing for console gamers and that will never wear off. As long as devs put halo and FPS toghether, sales like this will always happen...
I really want to know if bungie is good enough to make a game which has nothing to do with halo, and can make the same success out of it without even mentioning its by the same guys who made halo. It would be much harder today and if they did Id be impressed.
Ugh.....call of duty Actually, I forgot about that. I guess I should have said exclusive FPS. It's so sad, because Call of Duty requires absolutely no skill at all.[QUOTE="hockeyruler12"]

Ugh.....call of duty Multiplat fail. Exactly. Call of Duty has the benefeit of being on more than one console, where Halo;s success realies solely on the 360. Definetly reaching 10 million before ODST.I think reach is essentially halo 4.This may also inspire MS to make Halo 4.
Halo:CE - around 6 million
Halo 2 - around 8 million
Halo 3 - around 10 million.
The series just keeps on getting bigger and bigger (i dont expect Wars, ODST and Reach to sell near any of these).

Why not Reach? It is basically the next big Halo game, basically Halo 4.

ODST is gonna be huge. Halo Wars sold a lot and it wasn an RTS. Firefight will get really popular too, no doubt. Fans have been asking for bots since the first Halo, and finally they are answering many prayers.[QUOTE="imaps3fanboy"]Ugh.....call of duty Multiplat fail. he said most popular FPS and the most popular is cod[QUOTE="hockeyruler12"]

I bet Halo 3 has sold more. I think that SSBB sold a rather low amount, like only 8 or 9 million. If you really want to have nintendo take on Halo and get all the Halo fans really bent out of shape bring up Nintendogs or Mario Cart wii. As for the topic I would bet money that Halo 3 will sell over 12 million in its life time. As long as new people are buying 360s it will continue to sell because it is hands down the 360s killer app and is only 30 to 40 bucks. I am the only person I know that bought a 360 for RE5 instead of Halo.Nice. Does anyone know how much SSBB has sold now? I remember from 2006-2007 lems and sheep would go on and on about which would sell more.

Multiplat fail. he said most popular FPS and the most popular is cod I think Halo is much more popular. And like I said, it's only on one console. YOu gotta give it credit. There are more people playing Halo 3 then both Call of Duty's on LIVE.Yeah I'm with you on the last bit. I would like to see Valve and Bungie make a platformer, TPS, an RPG in 3d person. Try a different take on gaming guys. Like in film. Look at Ang Lee. Everything he does is different, not all great but he tries new stuff. Then look at Tarantino.....until this new film, it was all gangster movies on some level.Halo killer?

What are your thoughts on the "milking" of the MGS series, the Final Fantasy series, or Mario series?[QUOTE="Animal-Mother"]How would anyone be able to track 2nd hand sales? .... CoD is more popular than halo. Its just spread out over cod4, waw, ps3, 360 and PC. Add those up and CoD is easily more popular. But even that can't kill halo. Its still going strong and will get stronger with ODSTHalo Killer is a stupid term. No FPS can beat Halo in popularity right now. Game companies use it for hype.

If I'm not mistaken, Halo 3 sold around 20k in June so I think it could pass the 10 million mark either this month or next.

I think reach is essentially halo 4. i dont really think you can call a prequel the next installment like as it would go, Halo 4. but think itll sell well into the millions thoughThis may also inspire MS to make Halo 4.

Or wii fit, wii play, wii sports, I think that SMG's numbers are fairly close to this though, either way goood for Halo can't wait for ODST.

so far its only had 4 games 6 total by the series' end theres a lot of games you can call milkage on but i think youre saying that about halo jsut because you constantly see so many halo topics. try metal gear, ratchet and clank, sonic, mario, zelda........etc. anything that sells well, OF COURSE companies are going to wanna make sequels if they keep making money why not. i think its dumb NOT to milk it....thats how we get to experience other new franchises well in all fairness i guess youy can claim milkage wth...i cant even deny that! Please Log In to post.
