In any case, I've seen the concept used, and just because you can't see it in LoTR, doesn't mean others can't as well. You're the only one arguing this point.

It's a Q&A session with Guerilla; in which a fan points out that the storyline seems an awful lot like World War 2, with Helghast instead of Nazis. The response is that the game is indeed inspired by that, and takes key battles from ww1, 2 and vietnamn and implements them into their own universe.

The fact that the Nazis come from another planet, rather than germany, is irrelevant.

You might wish to keep your Halo-hatin' fanboy side to you, pal. You obviously have no place in this conversation, since you frankly have no idea of what you're talking about. Paraphrasing from pulp fiction... you're not in the same ballpark, league, or even sport.

It's not a droppable item. Grunts live in a methane-filled atmosphere, and need that gas to live. So, they always have a breather (imagine a scuba tank) when in other atmospheres. The grunt in question does not have the breather, which is in the ground. The whole thread is speculation regarding why is a living grunt without the breather. Can you somehow take it off without otherwise harming the grunt, like with a well placed shot? What effect will it have? Will it die a painful, slow death? Morale in enemies, especially grunts, has been modelled rather nicely since Halo 1 (bet you didn't know this!), so the TC is basically speculating how will this affect morale.

World war 2: Germany felt somewhat screwed over after the signing of the Treaty of Versailles which basically crippled them as a nation in Europe. Germany was put down and pretty much made into an outcast as a nation. This was unfair, and after many years of poverty and depression caused by this Treaty, Germany grew resentful of the way the nation had been treated as a whole. Step in Hitler who shoves cash into arms production, and there you have it. War breaks out as the nation seeks to rebuild what it once was.

Killzone is pretty much identical to that concept, only the invaders are coming from another planet rather than another country. It is, as they said, world war 2 in space.

There's nothing wrong with that. So dont be so defensive. Its still a good story.
