I still don't get it why do you guys (PC gamers) care if Halo 3 comes on PC?

There are x better shooters on PC.
Everyone knows it'll be just another crappy port by Microsoft.

Xbox 360 is clearly the most worthless console that there ever was for a PC gamer.

Halo 2 PC was the superior version.:|Oh, come on dude.
I mean, it came THREE years after the Xbox version. PC version recieved better textures. YAY:roll:
Who gives a crap?
Microsoft invested over 10 million bucks into a marketing campaign for Halo 3.
Halo 3 PC announcement will be something like a bunch of PR crap where Microsoft says they're incredibly excited about the PC version which will offer THREE (YEAH! T-H-R-E-E) exclusive multiplayer maps!!!1
I' certainly not going to dig this kind of treatment.

Halo 2 PC was the superior version.:|Spybot_9
a slight graphical improvement? um...okay.
How does it make a game a luckluster port if it is all that the console version had and more?:|Well, the PC version of Halo 2 supported pc/mouse and 360 controller. While that not somthing to complain about, how they handeled it was. If you used the 360 controller you got aim assist, so those using a game pad hillariously got an advantage. Also, the adition maps were just recycled pieces of old maps meshed together, which is ridiculously half assed. Then there was the picture of the naked butt in the game if you hacked it, Microsoft was to lazzy to actually just take it out, so they slapped on partial nudity on to the ratig lable and released it as is.
Considering the wait, PC owners deserved better. And considering the reception you think they would even bother.
Im not going to say the port was bad, but wasnt near as good as the combat Evolved port.

Which is why I said 'I disagree'.Its opinion V opinion.
Personally I think its singleplayer is simply average compared to other offerings for a variety of reasons, and the multiplayer is exellent. Other features like forge and replays are just features, they hardly make the package much better in making up for the questionable singleplayer quality.
Its like me saying 'Crysis's sandbox editor, Singleplayer and Multiplayer make it the best package'.
On paper it would, reality is, the sandbox editor while amazing doesent make up for the fact that the multiplayer is lacking the final quater of the singlelpayer was flawed.
Overral Halo 3 is a decent game. Its far from bad, and its far from average in total (much thanks to the amazing mp), however far from amazing and not 'the best package' in my eyes, at all. Primarily because, by saying that 'best package' line you are valuing the features over a game over the game design itself.

not at all. but claiming superiority on a port that isn't even technically confirmed is just silly. remember, you started this whole thing by saying that Halo 2 was the superior version. my contention is that a 2 year old game with a slightly prettier paint job does not constitute "superior." and with some of the control decisions and somewhat tepid response from the PC community, i will go so far as to say lackluster port. people want the latest, greatest thing. Halo 3 is no longer that thing.

I think its a more complete console MP experience then any game this gen to be honest.....I hope I can always be as sure and couldn't be happier you took it for what it was - good humor. :)SecretPoliceYeah I didn't see it as a blatant attack, but it does admittedly stike a chord, hence why I took the photo in the first place, so admittedly you kick me in the shins if you were inkling for such a reaction :)
I think its a more complete console MP experience then any game this gen to be honest.....Yeah I completely agree, features like 4 player coop werent properly designed into the singleplayer campaign, it felt like 'a feature', the campaign and story felt like it went way ward.
the only glaring flaw with 1 feature is that 4 player coop is just there to be "ZOMG 4 player coop" and is never used in a productive manor(unlike Gears of War which is built around 2 dudes playing, and the core gameplay lends itself to coop)
That said 4p COOP is a blast on legendary, and good spits and giggles fun. So it was a complete package game....most of the flaws came from 2 real areas
The campaign(design overall)
The story(Story telling, sudden change of complexity, and bad story telling)
oh and that Cortona Mission go F itself.....what D-bag designed that mission?jg4xchamp
However it does feel like the best, most complete console MP experience, and in its own right its multiplayer is excellent.
Honestly I was shocked at the MP quality compared to the SP. It really felt like MP was the primary to Bungie, and Halo had become much more of a MP series since no.2....

For co-op I read that it was practically the last part added to the game. It wasnt confirmed till August or July(just a month or two prior to release), and just shortly before then they were saying they might not get it in. So the campaign was obviously not originally built with it in mind. I did find it fun though.
As for the story mode, I really do think they made some cuts towards the end. If you ever read Halo Uprising when was a graphic novel made shortly before the release of Halo 3 there were some plot devices in it that werent in the game such as the "key of Osanalan". And the series has yet to be finished due to, "last minute changes in Halo 3's plot. And if you read the Halo 3 special issue from Gamepro you'll notice they said Tsavo Highway was the fifth level in the camapaign although it's actually the third. They night have cut some levels.
It's possible that in order to meet the fan demand of co-op they had to trim some edges in the campaign, but thats just an assumption, there could be any number of reason why content could have been cut(if there was indeed).

In that case I kind of get the feeling the coop was implemented to make up for such design changes. PRoblem is while you can argue its good that its there, you could counter argue, was it worth implementing it if it didnt rub off well on the game design - which I guess raises the whole issue of it being rushed when implemented, as you said, as indeed it was announced late. For co-op I read that it was practically the last part added to the game. While I havent properly read Halo graphic novels - aside from the (great) compolation one, with various short stories, I really did get the feeling that the campaign was cut and mashed here and there, and not nearly as well thought out, planned and executed for a game of such high calibre. It was a major dissapointment to me, because prior to its release the amount of information bungie were putting in the tubes about its design was phenominal, and it sounded exellent, however on release many design ideas were absent, and it didnt feel like the epic conclusion that I was supposed to 'Beleive' in.
It seems plot wise Bungie may of been 'doing it as they go', as they probably had a vareity of ways to execute the singleplayer, however totally messed up the ideas in order to create a weird hybrid that was supposed to have a conclusion, that really doesent adress some of the plot or plot holes (for follow ups and spinoffs), and a campaign design that was mixed and matched according to the messy story. Maybe im being too critical, but I was that exited for it at the time, it was all a bit crushing.
I mean does Halo really sell that well on PC? I'm not saying that in a bad way btw, just curious. I mean because if they don't why do they bother when they have sold millions upon millions on the 360?xscrapzxWell if they ported them sooner I'm sure they would do better.
Halo 1 prolly sold some units with online and all.
Halo 2 was just a sad attempt to boost Vista and GFWL.
