How do you say "this is pointless flamebait threat" without sounding insulting, hmmm....

[QUOTE="Bansheesdie"][QUOTE="BlazeDragon132"][QUOTE="Bansheesdie"][QUOTE="TrueReligion_"]It might. If Zelda flopped, anything is possible.BlazeDragon132Bungie isn't releasing Halo 3 with the same charachters, weapons, and story, that was why TP flopped. Tell me one character in TP that was reused besides the ones with the triforce. Also tell me one weapon that was the same... Master Sword, Iron boots, all tunics, your bow, boomerang, you name a weapon or character from OoT and its in TP. Wrong about tunics, Iron boots weren't magnatized in OOT. Boomerang and bow has been in plenty of Zelda games, same with Master Sword. 3 recycled weapons are in Halo also: Needler, Plasma Grenades, Energy Pistol. so there, Zelda and Halo recycle weapons. Owned much?
Okay, Bungie [and Microsoft] isn't going to let their huge franshise go out without a bang, as Marty O'Donnel [Music Composer for Bungie Studios] stated that Halo 3 is going to be like 'The Return of the King'. Frankie [Bungie.net Content Monkey] stated that in Halo 3, 'you're going to finish all the fights that you started in Halo 1'. They sound pretty confident that their game is going to kick some serious ass, right?
Not to mention due to the fact that Joseph Staten [Director of cinematics for Bungie(And wrote the story for Halo)] also stated that three levels were cut due to not enough time and he was dissapointed because of this. However, with Halo 3 been in development for quite some time now[It'll be three years on November 9th], and they know about their mistakes as well from Halo 2, I can not see Halo 3 getting less then AAA or less than a 9.6 for that matter. I could be wrong, but Bungie Studios won't dissapoint their fans this time around.
 halo 3 a flop?i think not,the massive amount of pre-orders say otherwise.

The Plasma Rifle was toned down hugely, and the paralyzing effect was removed, and with the Plasma Pistol, its homing in was increased hugely and was toned down as well. The Carbine was a new Covenant Rifle that was put in the game to counter the Battle Rifle, the Fuel-Rod Cannon which you couldn't use in Halo, you can use in Halo 2. Same with the Plasma Sword, which was feared in Halo. The Rocket Launcher in Halo 2 was toned down a littler bit, had a faster delay of firing and had a auto-lock on vehicles, which was a huge improvement. The Brute Plasma Rifle is similiar to the Plasma Rifle but has a more rarid fire and is a bit more powerful than the Plasma rifle.
The Brute Grenade Launcher is also a new weapon in Halo 2 which combined the explosive power of grenades and added a blade on the gun which is lethal for melee attacks. The Sniper Rifle in Halo 2 nearly the same but has a better scope, the Covenant were given a Sniper Rifle, named teh Beam Rifle, which was to counter the Sniper Rifle.
The Needler was toned down but had a more rapid and faster fire which made it more useful in multiplayer and single player. And the shotgun was given a shorter barrel which gave it a shorter firing distance but also made it more lethal in close quarters. Just wanted to show you the improvements that were made from Halo to Halo 2. But hey, if you think they're recycled, fine, you are entitled to your opinion.

[QUOTE="amtentori"]This is not flamebait but rather consider it motivation for an intelligent discussion.
i believe that other FPS will overshadow whatever halo 3 brings to the table in terms of gameplay. even rfom will make it harder for rfom to get a higher score. i have yet to play rfom and i havent obviously played halo 3 but im sure that they are both great.
lets begin with the good and the bad about rfom. the game has good graphics, detailed and varied environments, diverse weapons, good ai, good online mp with up to 40 ppl and no lag, etc. what score did it get? 8.6 why? it was a generic fps.. a good one that did everything well but failed to bring anything new. another example is zelda tp, the best zelda game ever made in many ways but its familiarity with previous zelda games and a cookie cutter formula got it a score of 8.8.
other games on the 360 will also hurt halos score. gears is an awesome as is rainbow six vegas. how good do halos graphics have to be to give us the wow factor that gears gave us? will halo have better team tactics than vegas? will halo 3 be as interactive as bioshock? will it be as vast as mass effect?
halo 3 is not an original ip anymore... how much can it satisfy us apart from the fact that its halo and we are finishing the fight?
tell me.. what will halo 3 bring to the table apart from possibly slightly superior graphics? how much can it bring to the fps genre that has been done before or that will be done this year before it? how good can fps multiplayer get?
a part of me wants halo to be a great game because i plan on playing it someday and hopefully further justify a purchase of a 360, another part of me wants halo to get a low score to behold the chaos that would ensue in system wars.
what do you think?

Halo 3 isn't the only sequel that hasn't brought much new stuff to the table. Heck, there's quite a few games out there like that and they still score reasonably well.
You mean Halo 2... unless you have played Halo 3?Halo 3 isn't the only sequel that hasn't brought much new stuff to the table. Heck, there's quite a few games out there like that and they still score reasonably well.

I didn't say I did. And from what I can infer from Halo 2, Halo 3 won't change drastically. Not many sequels do if the previous game(s) has/have been successful.
[QUOTE="-GeordiLaForge-"]Halo 3 will not flop. Common sense ought to tell people this. Anyone who thinks otherwise will get proved wrong soon enough...CaseyWegner
how does common sense say that halo 3 can't score below a 9 here?
I didn't say that. I said that it won't flop. But considering the recent gamespot interview with Bungie, I'm pretty certain that they're putting forth the effort to assure that it will indeed be AAA...[QUOTE="lawlessx"][QUOTE="Ptolemaueus"]oh so you have already played halo3 then?Halo 3 isn't the only sequel that hasn't brought much new stuff to the table. It might. If Zelda flopped, anything is possible.TrueReligion_Just because Gamespot gave it a flopping score of an 8.8, it doesn't mean it sucks, nor should you listen to just one editor. But if you must, at least listen to more then just one gamepsot editor, you'd realize overall it got a AAA score. Zelda: TP is hardly a flop in my book.
