[QUOTE="Blackbond"]What do you define as success?success is how well the game comes off. And it will disappoint gamers and fans alike. :'(
I can guareentee you the game will not only score high but sell well. Xbox is Halo like Nintendo is Miyamoto.

Again, you assume that it will disappoint gamers, you don't speak for gamers. Unless you know what the markets wants or have a time machine. Please stop, your fanboyism is really starting to show itself with comments like that. Why do you still feel the need to defend your topic when you present us with only YOUR opinion and fanboy comments? Not only that but you completely ignored my other post.
[QUOTE="yo_foo"][QUOTE="JediMasterSheed"][QUOTE="yo_foo"][QUOTE="JediMasterSheed"][QUOTE="yo_foo"][QUOTE="JediMasterSheed"][QUOTE="yo_foo"]Halo: Combat Evolved. Or rather - Combat DeEvolved. JediMasterSheedoh roffles. w/ cleverness like that, u should cure AIDS. resistence isnt better than either halo from a gameplay standpoint. rocky sux. u dont sell near 7 million copies off and not consider it a hit. once again sales doesn't equal gameplay success. :'( while its tru h2 didnt play as well as h1 from a mechanical standpoint (hitboxes, autoaim, etc.), its still beats the outta the 'cant decide what it wants to be other than a mess' rfom. RFOM was original in its right that it combined all the great parts of FPS into a nice little package. And FPS are hard to do on consoles. Bungie got it absolutely right with Halo 1 and because of the higher expectations of games on the Playstation, RFOM fell short in expectation. :'(no, it the bad parts and mashed them together, or atleast the parts that dont belong together. u can carry more than 3 guns at once, guns are arcadey since they use a static reticle, yet u move like a slow bag of bricks. thats not winning combo. did you have a read of the review? Obviously not because it clearly states that all the best parts of FPS were used. It all comes under expectations anyhow. :'(i didn base my opinion off the reviews, i played the game (the mp portion asnyways). my opinions are strictly my own. exactly. I have played a little bit of it when i was overseas a few weeks ago and i thought it was well reviewed by Gamespot and I understand why it got a lower score than it deserved. :'(

Halo: Combat Evolved. Or rather - Combat DeEvolved. That should be the slogan that Microsoft should run with for the latest in its One Hit Wonder trilogy - Halo 3.
Now don't get me wrong. Halo was a good game, although a little over rated, and fulfilled itself as the only official X-Box game worth buying the console for (although it came out on PC! Bad move). It developed tactical shooting and developed a good fanbase for those interested in that kind of thing. It had satisfactory multiplayer content which was good solid fun but also applied the use of tactics like in the missions.
Then enter Halo 2. To increase Halo fanbase, they decided to dumb the game down for those who don't have the time for tactics and made the game just a full on shooter with limited tactics and cruddy weapons. Yes Halo 1s weapons were far superior.
And now Halo 3 which promises to be a rehash of Halo 2s style of gameplay to keep these gamers who don't like to think that much and just shoot (the types of gamers who thought Doom 3 and Prey were Gods Gift to Gaming) and still keep in pretty well the same style as Tribes only without the jetpacks. Plus the same repetitive nature of the game will drastically annoy fans of the original and soon enough people will just ignore Halo and remember it for what the series really is - A One Hit Wonder, much in the same vain as the Baha Men's "Who Let the Dogs Out" and the original Rocky film.
Resistance is the Halo killer for this generation of gaming. No doubt about it.

[QUOTE="lawlessx"][QUOTE="yo_foo"][QUOTE="the-very-best"]Well to be honest, I think it probably won't be able to match expectations set by gamers because Halo 2 was just that good. I think Halo 3 will be a great game but I don't see it surpassing the greatness of Halo 2.to me Halo 2 was very disappointing. It will score less than Halo 2 and will be unsuccessful in matching gmaers expectations :'(
I also think it will sell less than Halo 2, and I think it will score less too.
Despite all that it's one of my most anticipated games for this year.

Successful in sales? In score? In meeting expectations set by gamers?

Sadly, Halo could suck as bad as your reasoning and it would still sale incredibly well. There are simply just far too many people in the world that like that game. I personally didn't like Halo 2 that much, but it's just plain silly to assume that game won't sell...
I don't think H3 is going to flop, the franchise is still kind of fresh. H4 or 5 will be the ones to flop.Vax45

Yes Halo 3 the game itself will not be successful here's why. The combat and sound effects are the same for all Halo games and it gets old. People are only buying it because it has the name like when you buy a computer its Alienware. Halo is over rated and people don't buy it to support sequels good games sound only be made once or twice not 3 times excluding FF series, since role play games it doesn't matter. UT3 is better then Halo and was announced for Xbox 360 last week and of course was planned long ago for PC and PS3. Halo 3 vechiles are the same like Halo 2 and Halo ones. Also Gears of War is over rated, Microsoft bribes gamespot to over rate Xbox 360's First person shooters and other companies. Anyway I think Halo multiplayer is good for the first couple of days then it gets lame play other games like Resistance, Call of Duty, Unreal tornament they hold their grounds more so then halo. Beware of Xbox 360's over rated First Person shooters made by microsoft.Timmy123456789
[QUOTE="blacktorn"]blah blah HALO 3 will be the most important game relaesed this genyo_foooh because it LOOKS good? Please. They said its the same gameplay used last gen. How is that new? :'( Bungie said that?? link..
