So much for Halo being a dying franchise like so many people here tried to make people believe.
Thank you 343.

I don't have a 360, but I played the online today, and it was very fun.

It has made me fall in love with Halo all over again after Reach broke my heart.
Definitely better advertised than any MP FPS on PS3, that's for sure.nervmeister**fixed**
Nah man you just broke it.
Even the biggest cows know the PS3's multiplayer FPS is lacking. Killzone 2 was the only one I spent decent time on
Definitely better advertised than any MP FPS on PS3, that's for sure.nervmeister**fixed** That's true too. Sony has been terrible at marketing this gen. The recent trailer for PS All Stars was pretty cool and did get me excited for the game, but that is a rare occurance. Sony should definitely look into these outrageous marketing campaigns like MS does. It seems to work well.

I didn't break anything. We all know that MS is a marketing juggernaut when it comes to games, as the TV ads kept reminding us.

**fixed**nervmeister

I didn't break anything. We all know that MS is a marketing juggernaut when it comes to games, as the TV ads kept reminding us. Halo 4 is still an awesome game though. This isn't a case like Homefront where THQ markets the hell out of it and has an entire campaign based around "The CoD Killer" and then the game comes out and sucks ass. Halo 4 would sell millions even without the heavy marketing campaign because it is a good game that has added a lot to the FPS genre over the past decade.another casual game appealing to casuals drawn in by kinectPressXtoJumpCasual? Halo 4? Wut? Kinect? Halo 4? Wut?
Just buy it, man. We won't judge you. No. F*ck 'em.F*cking casuals. F*cking 343.

with the exception of some fanboys/haters I think nobody expects a Halo (fps) game to have bad sales...
I'll probably get the game round xmas holidays since right now on 360 am focused on Forza Horizon :)
Another casual mainstream game sold millions. ShockingSNIPER4321
Another dumb post from SNIPER. Shocking
normal took me 6 and a half hours, heroic and legendary probably significantly longer depending on your skill, the new enemies are nails and you'll need to carefull with your ammo. the campaign is very tight, there isn't a dull moment. How long is the single-player campaign?

Nice, I think this will be my first Halo.

Dont believe me? Just look at RE6. Crappy game which sold a ton (even cracking the million mark on 360 and PS3 individually) thanks to strong marketing. Then there's games like STALKER, Okami and Psychonauts, awesome games that totally got the shaft in the sales department, due to slim (if any) marketing/advertising.
Those others you named are niche games.

FPS's, platformers, and adventure games aren't niche. Try again.normal took me 6 and a half hours, heroic and legendary probably significantly longer depending on your skill, the new enemies are nails and you'll need to carefull with your ammo. the campaign is very tight, there isn't a dull moment.

Nice, I think this will be my first Halo.
One of the best things about Halo is that while playing you can find hidden skulls, and if you choose so you can turn the skulls on to change certain aspects of the game.
These are the ones from Halo 4
So when you finish the campaign you can replay through, and challenge yourself by turning on some skulls, or all of them, and it gets incredibly difficult.
Also, my friend mentioned something about 343 adding 50 (yes, 50) of these mini Spartan Ops missions over the next ten weeks. They're small, 15 minute scenarios that you play through as a normal soldier. They will also be free.
The game is glorious. The campaign is awesome, the community features are awesome, and the multiplayer is one of the most fully-fledged multiplayers to date.
The Halo series has always been the standard when it comes to console FPS games (it also rivals, if not surpasses, most PC greats as well), and Halo 4 seems to be continuing that trend.
And I tell you this as someone who would be considered a diehard hermit by anyone who knows me
I'm hoping to play a ton more in the coming weeks.

Stringerboy
About as long as your typical COD campaign. In other words, way too short.
Nah, it's twice as long as a CoD campaign.

It has made me fall in love with Halo all over again after Reach broke my heart.
Why does everyone hate Reach? I think I still like Reach more than 4....they took so much out of reach that halo 4 feels downgraded. Armor sucks now, the ranking system is even worse(not even a picture, just numbers).F*cking casuals. F*cking 343.

FPS's, platformers, and adventure games aren't niche. Try again. It has nothing to do with the genre. Those games flatout don't have any appeal to most people. The first Borderlands had no problem selling without much advertising and being a new IP.

3's multiplayer was my favorite of the entire series. The change to gameplay that equipment brought was awesome, but sadly that went away with armor abilities. I felt equipment, and the aspect of understanding how to use it as well as controlling the map for it, added much more to the multiplayer than armor abilities.
