Halo 5 = 8, Gears 4 = 7. Is it end of an era for MS?

It's not a meltdown, it's you making stupid assertions, it's an 84.... 84 out of 100... that's only 1.6 points lower than a 10/10...

The only ones projecting that it matters or that this is some kind of low score are those like you who don't even own the game, relevant platform or even care, lay off the meth.

And no its not a stupid assertion, there franchises no longer push the boundries and they refuse to take any risk. Is Gears 4 a good game? I think so.. but do i want Gears 5 and Gears 6? Not really.. and thats a problem.

Exactly, New Zealand is a crap whole country, especially for gaming, so far from anyone, I don't play much Competitive online because of the massive ping, I have fun for a while but give up, I'm basically shooting air because the person I think is there isn't.

But that happened back in 2013, why are you trying to play it up now? Why is it so hard to accept they raised the series up a bit if you're going to bring up metacritic? Why does it hurt you?

@dynamitecop: Did i say its a bad game? I bought it and i enjoy it. Its not a bad game... but how much longer can it last? After Gears 1 and 2 i wanted more and i thought the third one ended it well. You dont think they need to mix things up a bit?

@trollhunter2: Sony gets credit for not just Bloodborne, but the entire Souls franchise. They funded Demon's Souls which is still a PS exclusive to this day. They made the mistake of not realizing what they had, but none of those games exist without them. Bloodborne was an excellent way to make amends though and I can't wait until they announce the sequel. Probably at E3 2017.

Its only out a few days and you're crying about its future. Enjoy the game you bought dude, and stop lying about it being lower than the previous releases because as I have shown it isn't. Yes I include a remaster as it was the first bit of work this new dev studio did and because the entire review industry includes it hence the reviewed the game. If it did not count for anything, why would it have a metascore? LOL

@dynamitecop: 84 is GOOD score and well within the acceptable range I would deem a day one purchase. In my eyes 90 and above is the gold standard though. You even predicted a 93 so you also place some value in higher scores as you expected that from an IP with such a decorated history.

Some games just have higher expectations. If The Last Of Us 2 is only an 85 I would call that a disappointment. I will be happy if games like The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2 and Resident Evil 7, FFXV, Horizon Zero Dawn etc manage an 85. If Zelda Breath Of The Wild scores less than a 90 Nintendo fans will lose their damn minds. That is just how it goes.

They need to mix it up and do something different.

But 4 is made by a different studio than Epic. Why did you expect it to be at Epic's level? I don't believe any person looking forward to Gears4 expected that because its the fifth game and third dev studio to be involved. But an 84/100 is a great score unless you play that retard way of thinking where anything below 8/10 is average and then bad.

Why worry about the franchise? There is nothing you can do about it. You're crying just to cry at this point. Its like running around screaming for attention. The franchise will go the way it goes, I live in the here and now, and right now there is a great NEW Gears game to play.

I can agree with this. Gears 4 is exceptional and if I'm not mistaken IGN gave it a 9 along with other sites. GS is not the end all be all. Gotta break away from that mentality....especially when the reviewer obviously does not like Gears. The guy gave UE a 7 as well. Hard to take that seriously.

You say you aren't worried about the game but are for the franchise. Like I said, what good does that do? You cant do anything about the direction it goes in. And you claim I'm dramatic? It's funny that Cows talk about sales, but I haven't found any PS4 exclusive that have sold over 5 million units. I think Uncharted 4 is the closest. The PS4 have over 40 million sold and the XB1 has probably over 21 million sold. How does Bloodborne not have over 5 million sold yet? Pretty sad. Salty cows everywhere in this thread.

Well, that was 5 million almost 11 months ago. I would guess that Halo 5 is probably closer to 7 million by now.

Gamespot only reviews the story, if you want reviews for gameplay of Halo and Gears, go to a competitive site where people actually play the two games you listed.

This. The major AAA studios are too afraid of failure so they are leaning heavily on what works. Hard to blame them after what happened to THQ.

The problem is fatigue sets it after so many formulamatic sequels and people look else for more exciting entertainment. I've felt this from Sony, M$, and Nintendo in the past few years.

Very few big devs are trying to shake their IPs and if they are, they aren't turning out well enough to justify the investment. It's a very bad situation. :(

And the current franchise's they have , have fallen off. That can be seen by the lower scoring average of there current games. I brought up UC4 because it is also the 4th installment of a game in the same genre on a competing platform and it has managed to improve upon its previous entries.

All you have focused on is the fact that Gears 4 scored higher then Judgement and the remaster and thats the your entire debate. Not only do you suck at coming up with a logical argument but you lack basic reading comprehension. This tends to happen when you blindly follow one company. My argument is that MS relies on the same IPs and lacks the ability to improve upon those IPs. So please come up with an argument that disputes that.

And I never stated otherwise in regards to MS. I merely pointed out you are wrong on where Gears 4 stands in regards to the previous releases as the previous 2 products scored lower.
