343 says the builds they have shown are months old even before E3. Would not surprise me if it's very close to 720p Native when its done.

It's also running TWO Engines at the same time + Halo:CEA looks awesome already. It would not suprise me if it's one of the better looking games this year.

Maybe on consoles, but definitly is not THAT good looking. I say it's rather lacking in the visual department (even though it was on purpose, reviewers should not let them get away with that.)

It definitly does look great by Console standards (watch the recent demo the water WOW).

It looks very average by PC standards. Why would i be comparing it with PC Games?

seems to me that it means nothing considering they've created an up to par engine overlay that can be switched on the fly at any time during the game that wouldn't exactly allow for hd and 60 fps unless they did some major changes to the original game it self it wouldn't be very good to have the overlay and original running at different resolutions and fps.

most of the games that achieve high resolution and fps are either hd remakes or hd releases this is an hd remaster which does not fit into those catagories.

lolwut. fps concerns are legit, but resolution? lol.

Halo CE can be played on 720p on the PC 10 years ago. there's no such thing as 'original' resolution on PC games. what nonsense is this.

they just can't do it with the 360. that's all there is to it. also, this is not an hd remaster. it's a sub-hd remaster.

You can play it higher than 720p on PC lol. Don't forget better textures, framerate and AA/AF. I think i'd prefer to go back to the PC version.

You understand 30 frames is not "choppy", right?

Than Halo:CEA?

I've had CE PC and they are nowhere near this remake in terms of textures...

Or did you mean in comparison to the Xbox Version? If so Carry on :P

They are just adding new textures and upping the resolution a bit?

delta3074

no, they are using the reach engine complete with the newer marine models and weapon models, the reason it's sub-HD is becasue it is running the reach engine and the original Halo engine at the same time so you can switch between the two at a push of a button

The multiplayer uses the Reach engine. The campaign which is being talked about in this thread uses a graphical engine crafted by Saber Interactiveon top of the original Halo code.

I wish they would improve the textures a bit. Looks a little shoddy.

I didn't think a HD upgrade would be sub-HD. Kind of ironic.

What's the point of this though?
