Halo Great FPS or Greatest FPS?

Fact: American Games > Everyone Else
Opinion: Halo 3 deserves less than 9.5

Fact: Halo looks like CGI (look above)
Opinion: Crysis looks better than Halo

Fact: Halo has sold over 20 million copies, all of them 4-6 million in one day.
Opinion: Halo is hype

Fact: I am Halo (and so can you)
Opinion: Halo is lame compard to PC shooters.

J/K, I've never played it but some of "YOUR FACTS" are only opinions if you haven't realized.

My opinion of the Halo games -

Halo - 90/100 - good shooter but unless u had friends round alot lacked replayablilty

Halo 2 - 94/100 - best of the trilogy, great online multiplayer.

Halo 3 - 92/100 - overhyped, not on the same level as 2, but multiplayer makes it better than 1.

Halo: Combat Evolved (Good) > Halo 2 (Ok) > Halo 3 (Average)... Not near greatest, not great, but overall good, clean, fun :D

Edit: And yes I've played all 3 and own CE (PC), spent a lot of time on 2, and after 30 minutes of 3 me and my friends switched back to COD4...

Two weapons standard. The grenade toss on the left trigger as opposed to it being a cycled weapon. Vehicles actually implemented WELL for a change. Cover and recharge system as opposed to health packs.

And obviously i'm not saying Halo did all of those first. I'm sure they cropped up earlier, but it did all of them in a way which was fun, intuitive, controlled brilliantly and actually felt like a genuine, proper FPS experience on a console as opposed to the lame husks of PC games which console owners had had to put up with.

I wouldn't say anything you stated is evolutionary but they did a good job of refining a lot of things. Halo was solid but not my favorite game. I hated Halo 2 and I have no experiance with Halo 3. Usually I think sequels suck but Halo 3 could be good though several hardcore lemmings I know hate Halo 3 as well.

I wouldn't say anything you stated is evolutionary but they did a good job of refining a lot of things. Halo was solid but not my favorite game. I hated Halo 2 and I have no experiance with Halo 3. Halo 2's single player was very poor indeed. I think it still would have been a AAA game if it was released as the first game, if you get me. But after following the original, and then going to that. Man did they mess it up.

Mediocre fps? Online is fun, but I'd call single player online with Doom 3

Halo does nothing that other FPS haven't done in the past. It's your average run of the mill FPS. If you want an example of a so called "GODLY" FPS, it would have to be Half-life 2.

Deus Ex is at the top of my list of my favorite FPS ever. Halo doesn't even touch it, not even with a 100 foot pole.

Two things...

Rechargable health

Intigration of Vehicles

Those the the two that stick out the most. But there are a lot of minor things that halo has capitalized on.

The importance of melee combat

The intigration of gernades and how you deploy gernades

The pacing and controls of console shooters.

Out of those, how many sold 6 million in a single day with little to no hype? None. But nation, Halo has done this. Halo is as American as Football, and I'm not talking about that gay European sport that's threatening hetrosexual love.

Those are all good games. Not godly masterpieces so amazing that they render Halo "average". :| You could easily put Halo on that list as a comparatively quality game. You also had to refer to generic "quake, doom, unreal" as in the entire franchises, i assume?

and if football isn't threatening to heterosexual love, then nothing is. foot ball is the most threatening, even more so than soccer or in fact, any other sport.
