I can't remember seeing so much damage control from cows (or any fanboy for that matter) towards any title months out from release like this before. Every Halo title produced by Bungie has been a deserving AAA title, ODST included. I'd go as far to say ODST is my favourite campaign of any of the Halo titles (though it may be because I've played the others to death). Firefight was a blast, especially if you have friends, & it was coupled with the entire Halo 3 multiplayer, map packs included.
ODST:
Gamespot: 9
IGN: 9
Game Informer: 9.25
I'd guess most the lesser known review sites bought into the 'lol expansion' rumours. ODST, without the multiplayer disk, is still larger than most games these days. Halo Reach looks to improve in every aspect. It will most likely score, & be deserving of, an AAA rating, based off of it's almost perfect gameplay, not off the name. The name is only regarded so highly because everything with it, developed by Bungie, is gold. As I said earlier, had Bungie kept all the details for E3 & not released the Beta yet, it would have blown the socks off everything there. Instead, Bungie gave us the beta, hyping us from our first hand experience with it, so we know it's good, instead of scripted demos & trailers to trick us into buying it.
To say Halo is trash is absolutely stupid. You don't like it (or are jealous because it isn't on your console), that doesn't mean it isn't an amazing game. I don't like Half Life 2 or MGS series near as much as others, but I know they are deserving of the praise they get.
