Halo Reach great game=Check

Halo Reach Great online play=Check

Halo Reach great graphics for open world style=Check

Halo Reach great sound=Check

Ok here is the problem after about 2 weeks it is totally boring. The reason for this is we are so used to games having a good upgrade system and Reach falls short of this. You see it is all cosmetic. Once you find the style you like you will most likely keep the look and not even worry about buying other armor cosmetic upgrades.

You really have no desire to try and keep upgrading. If you could mod you weapons with better power aim or gernades or stuff like that then this would have great staying power as an online shooter. It just offers far to little in comparison to games like COD in this aspect.

I think people are already getting bored of the Halo Reach online and when COD BO drops it's going to take over and be the game that has the staying power.

"Players (24H): 1,977,671" That's nearly 2 million unique players within the past twenty-four hours. Already getting bored, eh? Doesn't look like it.

Oh I know Halo will always have a big online community it will not be dead like games like KZ 2 or anything. What i'm saying is the games like COD have the better staying power especially over the long haul.

do you play the 1977671 players all at the same time? No... you're in a multilayer match with different people but the experience is the same thing no matter who you're playing

Yeah, the past Halo titles have had pretty unbelievable staying power in their online communities. Hard to believe Reach bucks that trend.

Halo is renowned for longevity. Halo 3 had an enormous fanbase all throughout the years, it will shrink over time as does every game but it will still be exceedingly popular.

it all cpomes down to oppinion.

for example i dont think it has staying power becouse the game felt identical to halo 3

the halo formula has shown its flaws now

the online hasnt changed at all since 2

and firfight has been overused so much in every game ever(survival games).

it realy was a pure 5/10 for me.

Why don't we wait and see? The only game that will give it competition will be BO, and it's likely Reach will still keep a very large and loyal fanbase.

I think it will stay because it felt nothing like Halo 3. Substantially improved, amazing gameplay and online features and has some awesome game modes. It is an 11/10 for me.

I wouldn't be so harsh as to say it was a 5/10, but your points are the same as mine. Reach felt very, "Been there, done that" in a lot of way. I'd at least give it a 8/10 at it's lowest, though...

strangely enough i will never play an online shooter where some guy that does nothing but play the game gets perks that other people don't get.

just because i don't play some game 24/7 i get hobbled while trying to play?

if they want to punish me because i have other stuff to do then screw 'em.

Well, $200 million in revenue can come from 3.3 million $60 standard copies being sold. But we all know that limited editions, and legendary editions come into play changing that number considering.

Well, I'm not too sure about that. Core Halo fans will stick to like crazy glue. It has a very dedicated fanbase. It most likely wont be played as much as COD, but it will be the second most played game on Live.

Personally, I'm not gonna be playing it online anymore after my 1 month of free Live runs out. It doesn't have that "holy **** this is awesome" feel to it that Halo 2 did for me (which I created a clan for called 'The Greater Reach' by the way :)). Damn I loved Halo 2 lol. Reach alone is not worth the $50-60 for Live IMO.

I think it has more staying power than all these gimmicky "gives you a super power that you can use in mp" games. First it's a more balanced game than the other games which become more about how much you play, than how well you play. 2 it's Bungie. They'll update, adjust, and alter things till it's finally hit a sweet spot. After that the maps, forge, and the community stuff will carry it for years. The staying power isn't even in question.

If you read his post correctly, the number was over 1.9 million players. If you estimate the amount of players from the $200 million worth of copies, you get around 2.2 million games sold. (3 different versions of the game plus xboxs)

300 000 players not playing compared to almost 2 million playing, is pretty significant in one day.

I just thought there would be more playing teh game in general no matter what the sales are. I thought if u got a 360 this is the game to get atleast that is what everyone making it out to be. And if this is the case there should be alot more online.

though a lot of people played, when I had halo 3 and cod4, I would always play cod because to me, it was more fun, fast pace action online. Also, it was during "modern times" if you will with weapons of my interest. It was just, better. Halo was slow and boring. Lastly, this is my opinion.

Yeah. The MP is a little rough around the edges right now (****ed up playlists, questionable map selection, some unused game modes), but once Bungie gets the October update(s) out everything should be hunky-dory.

I can see your point, but not every person who bough Reach are going to play everyday. I didnt play it for 3 days this past week because of school, so there can be reasons.

Reach still has alot of players no matter what is said.

Numbers from bungie.net just now.

Invasion mode is fantastic, best ONLINE FPS since TF2 on pc imo.

Halo Reach, NHL11, NBAk11 and Grand Turismo5 are getting me back on my consoles again :P

Only thing that Halo Reach online needs??? MORE MAPS FOR INVASION!! Seriously! This mode has made Halo's online awesome.. WE NEED MORE MAPS THOUGH for this wicked mode! :P

I've noticed that during off hours so far there have been insanely low amounts of players at times. Like I can't find a game to play in certain play lists bad. I don't think I've had that problem with any other shooter this early after launch.

So for different reasons from TC I agree it doesn't have H3 staying power from the looks of it but its still pretty damn awesome. Daily challenges are a great addition and make it so I go back to the campaign after beating it on Legendary Solo and FF mode.

So it lacks the longetivity because there is no way I can have an advantage over another player because I have played the game for longer.

Imo perks are one of the worst things to happen to the online multiplayer scene. If a game lacks longetivity because of no perks, then why is CS still played today? Also why is every Halo game except for 2 (because MS shut it down) still played online?

I 'm not to crazy about the maps in Reach. Several of them are remade from Halo's past. The one I played snipers on the other night was way to big. It took forever to find someone to kill. I hate unloading a whole clip into someone, and not getting a kill. Those are just a few of my gripes, and overall I am not really impressed with the multiplayer. I will be selling my copy of Reach to help pay for COD BO.
