Only if you like variety in it's games, which is mainly why I have a Wii.
For many here, it's hard to see past the obvious shovelware, last gen hardware, not that great online and has more bad games than both 360 and PS3.
At least it has Super Mario Galaxy and some other great games.
No. I like racing sims, rts, mature rpg games(so no zelda) and fps games. The Wii doesn't have much in the way of those type of games and what they do have is nothing compared to whats available for the PC. It really depends on the gamer. Wii maybe if you have kids, or trying to get your technophobic grandparents to play a game or you just like they type of games the wii offers but no it is not mandatory no system is mandatory except PC and thats just because of all the other capabilities it has outside of gaming.
That and Dragon Quest X... DQ X is the sole reason I'm gonna buy another Wii.i think i could survive on a wii and monster hunter 3.. (dont have either one tho lol)
ps3 is really the best choice

just wanted to say some facts: Has anyone tried the wii motion plus? it is worth your money.
when did motion sensing really start? i am curious to know
anyone tried Madworld for wii?
not taking sides, OK?
I dont fancey wasting 4x £17 on little extentions of something thats not in the majority of games and should of been there from the start. Wii remotes + chuck cost too much as it was... pure nintendo milkage.just wanted to say some facts: Has anyone tried the wii motion plus? it is worth your money.

Zelda isn't an RPG. Not trying to be a prick just saying.No. I like racing sims, rts, mature rpg games(so no zelda) and fps games. anyone who has not at leasttried the wii motion plus should. only then will i accept comments.
really guys, back up your comments.
not taking sides, OK?
Why should an expansion periperal be the determining factor of the system? or are you forgetting the other major points of gaming that Wii lacks in? I would take: 1) Graphics/Physics over cheap looking games, which is the majority of the Wii's library, even attempts such as the conduit are becoming failures. 2) The 3rd Party support that the PC/360/PS3 gets ... with all the heavy hitting blockbusters of the same rehashed first party with not even 1:1 motion controls. 3) Online that is actually DECENT... which is non existant on the Wii outside of Mario Kart... even that is questionable. 4) The Media functionality and Features offered by the other 3 systems. Other than a new nowhere near perfect control method... the Wii has nothing over the other systems, absolutely nothing.anyone who has not at leasttried the wii motion plus should. only then will i accept comments.

I used the motion plus at friends house who just got Wii sports Resort, and I gotta say I didn't see a difference. We play Ping Pong and Fencing, and The ping pong was the same as either tennis or Wii play Ping pong, and the fencing was basically "who can waggle fastest"anyone who has not at leasttried the wii motion plus should. only then will i accept comments.

I agree butI've actually heardpeople say it is because of the light rpg elements.

So because he doesnt have the same opinion you do you are calling him a liar?has everyone tried/rented/bought some ofthe greats for each console? hope everyone has. some examples: super mario galaxy for wii. Halo for xbox 360, GTA4 for the ps3.
not taking sides, OK?
^There are great titles for every console, but people like to speculate and argue over which is the best overall.

So because he doesnt have the same opinion you do you are calling him a liar?well i gave him two options
and anyone who plays it knows that if you waggle...your gonna get owned
my guess is if he DID play it, he was just so use to waggling that he didn't know what else to do
wiimotion plus IS 1:1...and anyone who says otherwise and really HAS played it...then they are just ignorant
Ive owned a Wii, or rather still kinda do, sold it to my mate whos living with me this year (students). I owned Mario Galaxy, thought it was a shallow game with little replayablity, far too easy, just pretty and nice music. Twilight Princess was a gamecube port with incredible bad Waggle controls, Smash Bros was ... just more smahs bros, only the one aspect where it could of been amazing they slacked on, ONLINE, which was utterly pathetic and killed the entire thing for me.has everyone tried/rented/bought some ofthe greats for each console? hope everyone has. some examples: super mario galaxy for wii. Halo for xbox 360, GTA4 for the ps3.

Fine thats all i wanted to know. thats just your opinion, it isn't mine, and you be just a tad less agressive, but u backed up your argument.
Welll it's more mandatory than psp 360 and ps3, but less than ds and pc. Simply based on how many memorable great titles they have. The pc ps3 360 share most their games, but pc actually has a huge flash/mod base and bc.
Btw it's also more expensive than 360/ps3 if You buy some controllers :P
I think the Wii is a pretty poor console, it's just not worth my time.
The Wii has been the least enjoyable console I've ever owned. Its only purpose thus far has been to play GameCube games and Ocarina of Time.subrosian
Games like MadWorld are just not upto the standards of the offerings on any of the other systems (including the DS, which is god-like. New GoldenSun wil be awesome)
Only if really Nintendo games.
There's not much besides that.IronBass
It's mandatory for females and the casual fanbase since that's what it's intended for. There is nothing revolutionary about the Wi''s controls (my mother has one) and not eeven Galaxy is a good game.I bought the game for my mother's Wii and never touched it since that same day.
