console games don't impress me anymore but there are still plenty of amazing looking pc games. imprezawrx500Pretty much this. One thing that annoys me about consoles is all the compromises that have to be made to put games on the systems.
Art direction is more important for me.
so graphics in games haven't stop impressing me.
Example
Okami
Folklore
Valkyria Chronicles

definitely, 3D Dot Heroes looks really cool as well
Graphics on console games doesn't impress me anymore. I didn't even think Uncharted 2 looked anywhere amazing as some other people claim.
After playing Crysis on ultra high settings, which provides photorealistic graphics at times, I don't think there will be any game that is going to be close at impressing me again due to their graphics. Specially not from Xbox 360 or PS3.

Do you even own a console? Thats sad because they impressed the entire video game industry last year.
Seriously, nobody is impressed by the graphics that consoles produce. It is just old, 1280x720 or 1024x600, very limited Anti-aliasing and Anisotropic filtering, poor lighting, shaders, physics, shadows, limited view distance, very low resolution on textures ect.
Graphics will never stop impressing me. Maybe if I became a rich enthusiast PC gamer and was always at the forefront of technology, never being able to experience what it is like not to have access to the best hardware available, maybe... but I play games for the feeling that I am entering into another world, a place that is different from my own... and the level of realism we have in games (i.e. that is, realism in the sense of aspects of a world being like ours, not a recreation of ours) is nowhere close to its maximum yet. We are still decades away.
Nah not really i recently got a new PC which can play Crysis on Ultra High with 8x AA and this game made my jaw drop almost the whole game.

Thats funny beause I play Crysis at Max settigns at 1080p with 2x AA and yes the graphics still impres me. UNC2 was the best looking game I played last year bar none inlcuding pc titles. It had amazing visuals , awesome lighting, great textures , awesome next gen effects such as motion blur and depth of field and the best animations i have ever seen in a game. It also impressed Gamespot, IGN , Gametrailers, VGA,s and the game designers themselves who all gave it the best graphics award. So go figure.
I've been wow'd playing Devil May Cry 4 on a SDTV for weeks now. And i still have yet to buy a PS3 for it's exclusives or play Gears of war or Assassin's Creed. If and when next gen comes along, my graphical needs will have been met.

gamespot also gave best graphics to MGS4 best technical graphics mind you.
none of those sites have any idea what the term graphics refers to and have no credibility in that field.

But not every website gave best graphics to MGS4 .It was split between MGS4, Gears 2 an Crysis Warhead while Uncharted 2 has won on every single publication. It was graphically the best looking game last year in most peoples opinion. And the reason why Warhead didnt winin 2008 was the fact that gamespot didnt feel most of its viewers would be able to view the game at the settigns that it was meant to be played , it was simply to demanding on the hardware at the time of its release.
