Yeah, I said it, Heavy Rain is the best game this generation for me, I'd give this game 10/10.

Yeah I know, if we're talking about graphics, Uncharted 2 is better. And if we're talking about story and gameplay, MGS 4 is better. Talking about voice acting, Mass Effect 2 is also better. Talking about fun? Mario Galaxy 2 is more fun. Online multiplayer? No, the game didn't have one. Talking about challenge? It's not like Demon's Souls, there's no Game Over. Talking about level designs? Mario Galaxy 2 triumph all level designs. So why did I said Heavy Rain is the best game this gen?

It's all about experience....that you can't feel it on another game......

I know Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a very good game, but when you think about it, it still the same FPS COD: MW 2 was, so too Halo 3

I know Gears of War is a good game, but you can feel the similiar experience when you played Mass Effect 2 or Uncharted

I know God of War III is a very good game, but you can feel the similiar experience when you played Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno

I know Mario Galaxy 2 is absolute fun, but you can feel the similiar experience when you played Mario Galaxy 1 of course...

But you can't feel the experience Heavy Rain give you on the other game this generation.......

People said Heavy Rain is much more like interactive movie than a game, for me it's not a problem. It gave us a very cinematic experience no other game can give us. It also played differently with other game, the one thing that make Heavy Rain really good is the character. You feel as you are the main character itself, not just some character you controlled.

Really I can't understand why GS only gave this game score 8.5. I think Heavy Rain is even better than MGS 4 and SMG 2... For me, Heavy Rain is the best game this generation.

Probably the best single play through experience, but compared as a game to other games then no.

I applaud Heavy Rain for it's unique take on narrative and gameplay, but so far my favorite games this generation are all RPGs (Oblivion, Mass Effect 2) or Stealth titles (MGS4, Assassin's Creed 2).

Heavy Rain is a great game. But ME2 has it beat on nearly all counts. I do think Heavy Rain is better than MGS4, it has a strong emotional impact and I honestly was taken back by the twist. For better or worse I finished the game with all my people surviving and I think I would have been more impacted by some of the more somber endings. The idea that my characters could die was amazing too since it really made tough spots in the game feel very tense.

..

However if Heavy Rain was watching a great movie, ME2 was watching an amazing one. The characters were very fleshed out, the world developed. The combat visceral and fun and as far as a "game" goes it just had more that appealed to me. Basically Heavy Rain is great, but its more of an experience than a game.

I have not played it, so I can't comment directly. But it's nowhere close to the top-rated games this generation, and is not exactly a unique experience (Indigo Prophecy says hi, and many adventure games on the PC). But of course, I repect your opinion.

You know what TC, kudos to you for at least giving the people the option to disagree AND for making it clear that in your opinion HR is the best game this generation... too many threads now a days try shoving ones opinion down our throat. I know I'm guilty of this as well :P

With that said, I'll have to disagree :( ... I thought it was a great experience, very unique but it didn't quite grasp me like it did some people, I would give it a solid 8.3. Back in June of 08 there was a title released, I'm not sure you'ved heard of it before not sure many have to be quite honest but it was called Metal Gear Solid 4 and to this day I still stick by as that being my favorite game released this gen.

I'm going to have to say no. I'm playing it and Lego Harry Potter right now and Harry Potter is about 5x as much fun for me. Heavy Rain is still a pretty good game though.

The Mass Effect and Mario Galaxy series are on a whole different level. A level above to be concise.

It wasn't even February 2010's best game.

Don't get me wrong it was a good game, just not best game of this generation, or this year, or Feb. 2010

Although Heavy Rain is a great game with an awesome story for me personally the best games I have played this gen are the PC versions of Mass Effect 1 and 2. The story in those games is just pure epicness and better looking graphics and controls compared to the 360 versions are a bonus too.

ok i will try it again.

in a choose your own adventure book you can lose. get it?

as opposed to HR where you can't lose. see it was a shot at hr because it's not a game because in you can't lose, but really that kind of an exaggeration because towards the end.... y'know what forget it.

No,I don 't even consider it a game. Before I get flamed,YES I played it.I enjoyed it,and It was well done...as an interactive movie. There's just not enough actual gameplay to justify a second playthrough.I just watched all the other possible endings on Youtube.

I am one of the very few who agrees..

When I first got this game, I played through it with my family three times in one night.

It was extremely fun because it got the whole family involved.

Can't say that about any other game I've played. Ever.

Plenty of different games deserve praise for innovation this generation...its hard to point of one game and claim it is the best.

Mass Effect did great things for RPG storytelling and dialogue as well.

No, its one of the best but not the best. My favorite game this gen is Demons Souls.
