Better than Crysis?
GamePro has no credibility. That's not saying much, given the website I'm posting on, but I don't give a damn.

Crysis visually doesn't look much better.
Show me a female character in crysis with a close up that looks better and i'll shut up.
Show me a female character in Crysis, period.[QUOTE="Cedmln"][QUOTE="Kez1984"]It ain't no Crysis.Greatgone12

[QUOTE="hakanakumono"]Crysis doesn't look THAT much better. The character's faces (or at least the one I saw) are overtextured. Kez1984
Yea. yea. At least your bowing down (as you should) and admitting it looks better, it's a start.
Well, the PC is a lot more powerful than the PS3. I'm not some blind fanboy.
I do think heavy rain looks pretty good, but I'm worried about how playable it is or what exactly it plays like.
Cut-sceens, storyboard... *yawn* come back with gameplay.Angry_BosmerThat was gameplay and running in real time graphics.... Didn't you see the circle and triangle buttons appear? It's going to play like Indigo Prophecy where you don't have direct control but you are given many chances to alter the way the game is played depending on what actions you choose to do and what you choose to say. It's basically playing an interactive movie. Very interesting concept and should prove to be fun.
I thought it was pretty widely known that GamePro is just a little biased..TheRealMC01
yea towards the 360

Does this count? (Mass Effect btw)
And not quite a female, but...
[quote="gamepro]And the game hasn't been released yet!
explains why... like all things I recommend waiting till it's out.

What makes you say that? For every positive article towards the 360 or Wii there's 10 toward the ps3. They've always been biased toward Sony, since the days of the ps1.

Only if there's a female in that sandbox. There was a fat man who was seen. I beleave they were a screencap of the fat killer man.
Looks pretty good graphically. I knew crysis would have to be brought up too lol.
Thing is, and this is what consolites need to realise, crysis not only looks amazing but is technically amazing. The fact you are taking a game with tiny little game environments, virtually 0 special effects, a game that can use all the PS3's graphical power to render those tiny spaces, then comparing it to a game with massive environments with every effect in the book going on says alot about just how stunning crysis is.
Heavy rain still looks great though. All i can say is imagine how it would look on a PC lol.
I'm sorry but it looks like complete crap. The textures are so bland and low-res all throughout the game, not to mention that the rain effect that's supposed to cover up those textures looks horrible in itself. The best game graphically is Crysis, without a doubt, and no game is even close to matching it (besides Crysis: Warhead).
Edit: All throughout the scenes and pics that were shown.

I take it you've never played the game, much less see it in motion. It looks so far beyond anything and everything else.
"Best graphics ever", is pushing it. . . . . .
and the facial expressions looked better in the 2005 preview.

i was just kidding... but seriously its stupid when people think gamesites are biased.. everybody used to think GS was biased look what happened.. seriously dude just lay off biased stuff. i mean come on, gamepro gave too human a 4/5 a better score than GS, ign, 1up, and most gamesites.. so does that still make GP biased towards ps3

yeah I thought the same. when the rain fell on the girl,it didn't look right at all. quite blurry scene for the environments as well.

His face texturing is overdone. It looks like it was scrubbed with steel wool and then it healed over or something.
Either that or he had acne all over his face.
He actually looks worse than the close up of the fat man's face.

Looking for a closer pic now. I'll Probably just have to boot the game up.
(Dammit now I'm that guy that posts Crysis pics in forums)

It's called stylizing, it prevents uncanny valley, if you look at his eye's in the cut-scene they look slightly lit up. Heavy Rain is also stylized to aviod this. If you watch the Heavy Rain video when she talks to her little recorder it clearly gets dead eye syndrome and fails miserably like Mass Effect.

I'd have to disagree with this. Everything looks good, imo.

Heavy Rain has a better art direction, despite Crysis' technical superiority.

Art direction? Seriously? Both went for a realistic look, although Heavy Rain is in the suburbs, and Crysis is in a jungle. Please Log In to post.
