doctored photo lol i alreayd explained this. i just took it in game a few minutes ago. its on very high every thing dx10 at a res above 720p. the quality is lowered due to it being a resized low quality jpeg image but tahts crysis. and it still looks better than heavy rain trust me.

It does look pretty good.But something looks wrong with the character model.

I think the character model in Heavy Rain looks more realistic.

The character in Heavy Rain doesn't have HD textures though, like the character in Crysis.

actually they do add lines and a shade of color over her face. not to mention its indoors with poor lighting. and a low quality image thats been resized drastically.

edit: and polygons possibly but textures UMM NO!. have you played crysis? the ps3 i guarantee you could never even fully tapped render the kind of textures that are in crysis. the nanosuit textures in crysis make geow look like a muddy messy ass turd lol. the first time i put in crysis and watched the opening scene of prophet briefing you in the vtol my jaw F'ing dropped at how good the textures were on it. they are unmatched.

well i do know how many devs touch up pictures of games. well my crysis pics werent taken by a dev. remember the first kz2 pics and how the article came out shortly after about them being touched up and then a revealing from the industry that all devs do? this was like months ago like the beginning of 08 or even maybe last year. anyways i dont think heavy rain is going to be looking that good while youre playing it. unless its a really really small scale game.

well the only bad animation really in crysis would be the ragdolls and korean enemies. everything else is top notch and fluid as hell. crysis reigns on every graphical aspect. lighting = best in gaming, textures = best in gaming. shadows = best in gaming. water = best in gaming. explosions/fire = best in gaming. physics = best in gaming.....i could go on but you get the picture. its unrivaled

Technical feats =/= better graphics.

Crysis may very well have better looking visuals, but just because a game ist technically graphically more powerful doesn't mean it is visually superior. Case in point: RE0 still looks better than RE4. Prerendered backgrounds, despite their unpopularity, brought hte games' graphics to a higher level than the graphics of RE4.

Indeed. If you put the images hue/contrast/brightness to something kinda equal'ish (not exact of couse), it becomes even more apparent. And this is even with those scan-lines cutting through her face.

Other than the eye's, the textures look wishy washy.

i agree. i was all 360 this gen til i got a new pc for crysis recently. i always just took for granted that it was the best looking game but wasnt able to feel it like the people who played it had. well now i know. its unmatched and wont be by any of the consoles this gen. crysis probably wont be matched by a console game til mid next gen unless its linear as hell then the launch games can probably surpass it.

they are close but look at the detail on the eyebrows for crysis. and even the eye ball looks better. if heavy rain is so good why isnt the eyeball properly reflective and shiney. the hair also has a realistic gloss/shine in the crysis pic

There is shine in the eye of heavy rain. Its a small little dot like in real eyes.

The eye in Crysis is overly shiny. So is her skin.

I don't know why people are still comparing that girl from Crysis. She was the worst offender in the game that looked like some sort of walking, talking Barbie doll. It's interesting that no game released thus far has truly surpassed Half Life 2 in animation, especially facial animation.

I think Heavy Rain might be a favourite to usurp the throne.

look more impressive to be watching than playing. i played indigo prophecy and though it was great but there isnt a whole lot of playing. half the time i had to trick myself into thinking i was really enjoying it because the story was so good. it wont be crysis impressive but maybe to someone who just walks into a room and then out without seeing much

Actually when you watch the trailer the animations don't look as impressive as the demo proir. Particularly when the charecter speaks to the recording device. Mass Effect dead eye sydrome.

No. I'm the one who posted the messege asking for osmeone to show me a close up screenshot of a female character in crysis and it clearly doesn't look as good as the character in Heavy Rain. Thats why i said "I win".

way to spin. if you didnt read my reply to you if there are reasons you think it looks worse than the heavy rain close up i explained why. its the best close up you can get in the game cuz the only thing you can use is the binocs. and imo it still looks better and more lifelike than the heavy rain pics that were taken by devs and probably doctored like all pre-release game screenshots. but the fact is that crysis pic was taken on a pc moments ago during gameplay

Uh no. You can clearly see that she doesn't have nearly as many polygons and the textures on her face aren't nearly as good and her eyes look way blurry compared the Heavy Rain's character.

Indeed. If you put the images hue/contrast/brightness to something kinda equal'ish (not exact of couse), it becomes even more apparent. And this is even with those scan-lines cutting through her face.

Other than the eye's, the textures look wishy washy.

they are close but look at the detail on the eyebrows for crysis. and even the eye ball looks better. if heavy rain is so good why isnt the eyeball properly reflective and shiney. the hair also has a realistic gloss/shine in the crysis pic

The real world isn't that shiny.Real eyeballs aren't so white. Heavy Rain is more realistic.
