[QUOTE="SNIPER4321"] LOL. IGN give every big game a 9. wait a min... they gave Hitman 2 and Blood Money 8?? no way it is better than Hitman 2. that game was masterpiece. Stringerboy

GS review:
+ Beautiful environments
+ Terrific voice-acting
+ Point shooting is visually stimulating
+ High replay value due to various ways to approach missions
+ Great sound effects
- Some anitclimactic missions
- Enemy AI problems
- Some missions are linear
- Sometimes characters seem to try too hard to be edgyStringerboy
Really? Sounds like they trying to nitpick it to death. The game looks pretty awesome in my opinion.
This IS Gamespot we're talking about here.
Best one: Sometimes characters seem to try too hard to be edgy...
I mean, really? How does that really affect gameplay enough to be a -? It's irrelevant. I cannot stand this guys reviews.
Anticlimatic linear missions and bad A.I are pretty big complaints.I cannot stand Kavin VanOrd as a reviewer. Have never taken his reviews seriously. They always have too much good things to say with very very few bad things to say and then mysteriously, the game always ends up in the 7's or close.
Puckhog04
There may not be that much which is bad but what is bad is BAD.
I'm still looking foward to the game. The previous Hitman games didn't get that high reviews and it's one of my favourite games franchises ever. If this is just as half as good as Blood money or Hitman 2 then it will still be worth it (disapointing but worth it).
RPS pinpoints aptly the issues with what IO has done here.
Seems to be a bit worse than I expected.
Remarkably, most levels dont have a target - theyre about getting from one place to another instead of hitting a man, usually while being hunted or trespassing.
And this, people, is why you try to consider reviews within their context. Try to figure out where the writer is coming from. Just by reading what Adam Smith has written here you can tell that he liked Blood Money, why he liked it, and consequently why he doesn't like a great part of Absolution. I honestly don't care in the slightest about what some guy who did not play Blood Money and loves Uncharted and Splinter Cell or whatever has to say. Reviews like that are worth nothing to me.
I still need to get it. Couldn't cancel anyway since GMG are being dicks.
Doesn't talk at all about how significant chunks of the game forego the typical Hitman design of open-ended sandbox missions for more generic stealth sections, linearity, cutscenes and whatever else storydriven design there is. Only brings up the scripted couple of kills in there and says there's "about a dozen" Hitmany assassinations. Giving the impression that this game is all about what Blood Money was all about. Misleading, I would say.IGN gave it a 9:D
Cheleman
Seems linear. :(
No purchase then. I can remember playing Hitman 2, it's better than this new garbage.
Really, all games should be PC exclusive so they can utilise the RAM more, so we could see higher number of better and open world games.

A great review, very informative, and confirms many of my fears and suspicions about the game!
Sad how Absolution didn't manage to live up to the expectations. Will still probably play it when it gets discounted, since it's not a priority anymore...
The gametrailers review is one of the worst reviews i have ever seen.....
http://www.gametrailers.com/reviews/1s3exv/hitman--absolution-review
Seriously.. they show footage of the guy constantly going commando everywhere... and then just doing stupid stuff like hiding from cover to cover back and forth, constantly switching weapons or shooting birds... It's ok to complain about some anoying bugs or glitches, but this is ridiculous. Also the reviewer complained that if you kill other people that are not the target, it takes away points... seriously???!?! I mean isnt that the entire objectice.. get to the target, kill him and get out without anyone knowing?
Another complaint is that it's boring to play the stealth way.. i am pretty sure that who reviewed this, probably reviewed the trigger happy cod games.
There are legitimit complaints about this game.. but don't go by this review.
That review showed the worst of the game. I have to agree with the review. The gametrailers review is one of the worst reviews i have ever seen.....

Hermit? Trying to fit in? What is this?
Yes, Uncharted is very linear and I started to get bored of games being designed like that. At the end of the day, I'm a PC gamer. Deal with it.
So adam sessler (of rev3games) just reviewed it. He seemed to like it quite a bit.kris9031998
sounds like he's describing a very different game. from what im reading in other reviews alot of the levels are pretty much "Point A-Point " with most not even having a target.
Why couldn't they just leave it the way it was in the past games? I really wanted to hope they wouldn't destory this series, but it looks like the hitman series has truly ended with blood money. :(

My taste have changed slightly over the years. In my console gaming days, I was fine with linear games. Now I prefer to play open world games, but I'm still happy to play linear games, it's just that I would like to see more open world games. Too bad, consoles aren't gonna let that to happen often due to hardware limitations.
This is why I said in my previous post saying "all games should be exclusive to PC".

This is the main thing I care about, and has always been the main aspect of what has made Hitman what it is. The only thing else mentioned that may affect that is the A.I., but tbh I've always found the A.I. in previous games to be either too strict or lax. It was never realistic and barely competent. As long as it's passable I'm fine. And the criticism, "sometimes characters seem to try too hard to be edgy". Honestly, is this such a negative that it detracts from the overall experience and score? That seems like a ridiculous nitpick that could be leveled at 95% of games today.
The only way I'll be dissapointed is if there's barely any different ways to kill a mark, and if mostly all of the levels are linear corridors. From many of the promotional videos I've seen this does not seem to be the case. Not having a large selection of sandbox levels would be a bummer, but if there's at least a handful I think this will be alright as they can be modified with contracts mode for much replayability.
It also amazes me to see how many people are coming out and saying, "sorry, I'm cancelling my preorder", "I'll pick it up later when it's cheaper", etc etc. Do all of you let GS dictate what you play? While I'm sure the game will have flaws as all games do, I also am sure they will not be enough to detract from it to the extent that it's not worth picking up.
I am still very excited for this, and am eagerly awaiting Tuesday.
New garbage, seems linear...have you played the game first to come to those conclusions? Or again are you basing **** off others opinions? Do me a favor, rent the game...find out yourself and then consider a purchase.Seems linear. :(

Because you make it was like it was so long ago that you played on consoles, yet a moth ago you dang a completely different tune when it came to consoles. You go from defending PS3 with our life from saying every game should be PC exclusives, essentially meaning consoles should not exist. Quite a chane of heart in the spam on one month.+ High replay value due to various ways to approach missions
Thats all I really need, along with fun gameplay in a hitman game, cant wait to try the game this upcomign week.
Its gotten alot of good reviews also, not just the few bad ones. IGN, GameInformer, GamesRadar, Joystick and Playstation magazine all seemed to really like it.
The GS review seemed very positive and a 7.5 is still a good score.

But you continued to show strong bias towards PS3. Now you think it should no longer exist. It's fine to address the flaws of consoles compared to PC, but consoles definitely have their place in the games industry. To say otherwise is nonsense.ehh I guess thats fine.
from the gameplay it still looks pretty fun to play.
