yeah of course it changed, and honestly maybe the changes werent for the better because it gave people good reason to like Gears 1 better than 2, but even so at least epic made some efforts for changes there... should gears 3 fix what isnt broken, nah i dont think so, but there are some room for improvement of course and they should act on it....whether or not they do remains to be said, and maybe its too soon to call, but so far its hard to see how they are trying much. There are some subtle tweaks in there though, i will admit that haha

I loved Gears 1 and liked Gears 2. I don't think I'm getting Gears 3.

It was at least an improvement on the original's. You can't say Gears 1 had a better character development. While it wasn't that special in Gears 2, either, Epic seemed to try to shoot for a game not only with blood, gore and more blood.

Hell yes I am excited, but I need to spread the love. We got Battlefield 3 and Diablo 3 coming out around the same time Gears 3 will be out. My problem is which one to prioritize.

Dom's drama wasn't an improvement. It wasforced, exaggerated and completely out of the tone of the game. Doing something that doesn't fit is not an improvement; It's better to do nothing.

Other things were better done, though. Tai and Carmine dying (showed the crude side of war without out of place drama), the ending (mankind's last refuge destroyed) and even Anya and Marcus relationship was greatly executed (just a subtle gesture near the end that said it all).

Too bad that Dom's drama was so over the place and exaggerated that overshadowed all that.

I'm excited. I love TPS's like Gears and Uncharted. And to be honest, the problems with multiplayer in Gears 1 & 2 never bothered me. If the beta and extra dev time help to eliminate those problems in Gears 3 it will be amazing.

And lol at "Gears 2.5". Gears 3 already has morenew features added to differentiate it from its predecessor than Gears 2 did.

This. The terrible online at launch was the only thing that kept Gears 2 away from greatness. Beta + extra dev time + dedicated servers should fix that and improve greatly over Gears 1's MP.

Not excited at all. Gears 1 was great, Gears 2 was blah, and 3, I'll probably pick it up when it goes on sale for 20 bucks at BB but then again I may not.

Overall, I'm sick of FPS and 3PS. These games can't hold my attention for more than a few days. I've realized that downloading demos are adequate to get my FPS fix.

Main game I'm playing now is SC2, LBP2, GT5, and YDKJ. Only games on the horizon worth getting for me are UC3 and LA Noire. Passed on KZ3 and probably will pass on Gears 3

Just because Gears is a hardcore action game, doesn't mean it can't feature "sensitive scenes". In addition, it was only one of them. Get over it.

Just because Gears is a hardcore action game, doesn't mean it can't feature "sensitive scenes". In addition, it was only one of them. Get over it.SHR3DD3D

Gears being "hardcore" (whatever defintion of hardcore we are using) has nothing to do with being out of place. It's out of place bacause how the rest of the cast is treated (no one shows the same emotions, nor to the same degree), how the violence and death is taken lightly unless it's about Dom, and the general "let's kick ass" premise of the game and how the series simply isn't about people's emotions.

I am for sure. I don't think I can deal with another epic fail of a game like Gears 2 though. 6 title updates and the game is still laggy and the host always quits when he's losing. Takes forever to even find a game. They sold wayyy too much DLC when the game was still in shambles, have some respect for yourselves.

I think Gears suffers--or rather benefits--from the "so bad, it's good" syndrome. I love the series for that, lol.

Had they not been satisfied, I doubt they would have implemented female characters in the third chapter of the series.

I'm not excited for it at all. There's nothing that stands out to me in the game. At the end of the day it's just a alien shooter. I'm not particularly excited for UC3 or LA Noire either, infact the only game I'm actually really looking forward to is Deus Ex: HR.

That's not what we're talking about. We are not talking about if they were satisied with women getting attention, but howthat scene and whole drama was done.

In fact, how females are portrayed in Gears 3 (soldiers as capable as Gears), the exact opposite of how that scene on Geasr 2 was done, further proves they weren't satisfied with how the emotional content of Gears 2 was made.
