Nope, i was untill Uncharted 3 was announceddvalo9You never even were, dude.

I'm excited for the story but i couldnt care less about the multiplayer, it's gonna be the same laggy, buggy inconsistant crap as Gears 2
[QUOTE="SHR3DD3D"]Dom's drama was the first step in giving females attention in the Gears saga.IronBass
That's not what we're talking about. We are not talking about if they were satisied with women getting attention, but howthat scene and whole drama was done.
In fact, how females are portrayed in Gears 3 (soldiers as capable as Gears), the exact opposite of how that scene on Geasr 2 was done, further proves they weren't satisfied with how the emotional content of Gears 2 was made.
Doubt you ever touched Gears 2.
People are excited for gears 3 just because of it's graphics lol.johny300That's not even close to be true. While indeed, graphics tend to increase the hype of a game (it happens all the time, Killzone 3, Uncharted 3, Crysis 2, LA Noire, etc), the hype of neither is founded only on it's graphics.

that may be true for gamers, but here on system wars fanboys hype up games for graphics all the time.
I'm also curious to see how gears 3 turns out graphically, since it'll basically be the 360's limit.

Until gears 4 comes out.:Pno, they could make a hypothetical gears 4 *look* better, but it wouldn't be any better technically.
basically Uncharted 2 was the last of the advancements on the consoles without having to make compromises on graphics. I saw it in killzone 3, it's better technically than killzone 2 but it also uses more visual tricks as well.
but hey, if tricks and compromises make a game look better than I don't care one bit, it still looks better :)
[QUOTE="johny300"]People are excited for gears 3 just because of it's graphics lol.SHR3DD3D
Its graphics are nothing special. It seems like it's a smaller improvement over Gears 2, than Gears 2 was over Gears 1 (and that was a minimal one).
are you blind? gears of war 3 already looks on par with uncharted 2. I'm sure uncharted 3 and gears of war 3 will be super close in graphics, the only edge uncharted 3 may have is character models.
oh and sand :P uncharted 3 the sand king
[QUOTE="SHR3DD3D"]It definitely wasn't exaggerated. I know a lot of friends that IRL cried at that scene.IronBass
Now that's interesting.
But it's still one ofthe most ridiculed scenes this generation, that kinda proves how exaggerated it was.
tbh the only game to get me emotional connected was bioshock 1 and 2...yes i liked BS2....
i mean there are other games but bioshock... especially the end of the 2nd got me hooked

eboyishere
I loved BioShock 2 =D
I can't really decide which of the two I like more, and yeah, I was really hooked into their world and characters.
Especially on BS2, because the main character gives a much bigger sense of purpose.

yes this is the limit...gears 2 was 80-90 percent of the 360 so this will be the full potential
yes this is the limit...gears 2 was 80-90 percent of the 360 so this will be the full potentialeboyishere
It's way more complicated than that. Not even devs know what exactly a console can do (its 100%), it's a process of learning and improving over the years.
If not even the devs know what the 100% is(fitting enough, that's something Gears of War's lead designer itself Cliffy B said), I doubt we can calculate that.

i thought there was something out there that proved that gears used the 360 to it's full potential...idk but yes i love the bioshock series it's sad that the director couldnt come up with the budget for it...since it's a R rated movie

Wasn't Gears 2 supposed to be the 360's limit? Then Reach? Devs will likely continue to find ways to push the hardware. Shadow of the Colossus looked like some well beyond the PS2's capabilities.Yeah, I liked Gears of War 2 and I Pre-Ordered The Epic Edition and Will play the Beta when it comes out.
Not really to be honest. Much less thenI thought i'd be.
Your complaints are odd though. Uncharted hasn't changed at all either, it just looks prettier each time. Fair enough the second added multiplayer, but Gears had that from day one.
uncharted is a different case, its a third person adventure game and a strong part of what makes uncharted special is the story and environments and scenarios, so i know naughty dog is going to top all that in the next and that is what will make it worthwhile.....but games like gears are different....fps games need to do more than change settings to make them look impressive, and they need new mechanics and cool ideas to integrate. Gears 3 doesnt have enough of that as of yet, its the same thing with one or two tweaks. I don't understand how people are impressed by UC2's story...I mean it was just a means to an end. Its got a better story than Gears, but that isn't saying much. Orcs with flying machines coming out of the ground? They better somehow be related to mankind...Yeah, should be fun. New modes look like a lot of fun, maps and guns look cool, and hopefully they will return to the shotgun fest that made Gears 1 fun.
I'll buy it... but I, like you, am not all that excited for it, not sure why... maybe it's because I'm more excited for games like Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, RAGE, Zelda: SS, etc. so my "hypedness" for Gears 3 is waning because of other titles I want more.

that looks awesome imo
[QUOTE="theuncharted34"]yes.IronBassBased on?
alot. since epic is the most technically competent developer on the 360, and has made the best looking game on the system (which still is) since 2008, and the fact that they're using the latest version of unreal engine 3 and also they know the 360 inside and out at this point. it will max it out, and it will look fantastic.

actually at a certain point, consoles can no longer push more and more. there is a wall, and when developers hit that wall, the rely on tricks and compromises to make a game look better. sure, it may still look better, but technically it's not pushing much more than the previous game, example - god of war to god of war 2. sure god of war 2 looks better, but santa monica studios used tons of tricks to achieve it.
that's not a very good example, yes it does look stunning and around gamecube/xbox level, but the ps2 just couldn't handle it. it had tons of framerate issues. thankfully I waited and haven't played either ico or shadow of the colossus and now I can play them in Hd, and play shadow of the collossus the way it was meant to be played :)
EDIT: just so you know, I am not singling out the 360 in this matter, it applies to all consoles.

It is in my top 5 most anticipated games of 2011 at least, if not top 3. Can't wait. Don't know why everyone is comparing it to UC, but I might as well do the same. Gears 2 > UC2, in my opinion.
of course im excited. its one of 2011's biggest games Bar none.
it also concludes the series that put HD gaming on the map and defined this generation.
the recent NPD numbers of xbox 360's sold in february are only indicative that people are gearing up for this game.
let the haters hate.

I don't really see what the 360 selling well has to do with a game 8 months away. If anything, Kinect has more to do with it.of course im excited. its one of 2011's biggest games Bar none.
