How can anybody say that the PS3 is winning?

Ok, I know we are all very happy, because reportedly, the PS3 topped hardware charts this month (keep in mind that we have no official numbers yet, and therefore, no concrete proof). Be that as it may, we can safely declare that the PS3 is buoyed by an optimism that it was lacking since its launch.

However, it's only been a month, and cows have (as usual) pounced upon the opportunity, already declaring that the 'Ps3 has won,' or that 'Sony is winning.' How? Last I checked, the PS3 had a nigh insurmountable sales gap seperating it from the other two systems, and its software sales were in the gutter. How can anybody who is even slightly rational claim in their right mind that Sony or the PS3 are at the top?

I know we are all excited at the PS3 finally getting its due. But we'd do well to stay calm, and see if this success at the very least sustains itself.

It's done a lot of great things this year. Sure it's not ahead by all it's sales, but winning is such a loose term in the system wars who really gives a damn, all we need to know is it really pushd forward as a system this year./

Even though GoW, FF, and GT5 are still not out, atleast PS3 fans finally have SOMETHING to be happy about.

Yea, but they're down with AAE compared to the 360, and the 360 has more multiplats than the PS3 because it shares them with PC. And there's no way MGS4 should be considered the game that keeps PS3 ahead of 360. It's a pretty terrible AAAA game.

I honestly haven't heard anybody say that it is winning, save for a very few ridiculous fanboys. I think that in terms of exclusive games, the PS3 definitely (at least as of this fall) has the upper hand, but that is just an opinion. A lot of people like Halo and PGR better than Killzone and Motorstorm 2, for instance.

As far as sales, attach rates, and install base goes, the 360 is still definitely on top.

Of course not. It has less exclusives, less multiplats, inferior looking games (in most cases), less sales etc....

Anyway, the poll dont surprise me all all :?

that doesn't change the fact that the 360 still has more high scoring exclusives than the ps3 does.

I'm not sure if Sony is winning on paper just yet, but imoPS3 should be the system to win.
360 people like paying extra for everything, and don't want blu-ray.And there's no talking them out of it. I don't get it, but I better shut up before a 360 loving mod comes along and shuts me down for speaking ill of theirbeloved360. Because I wouldn't be giving my opinion, that would be "trolling" right? Yeah, whaever.

Games are all a matter of opinion. Remove the games from the equation and the PS3 is OBVIOUSLY the smarter decision.
Add the games back in, and (imo of course) PS3 is a more than worthy adversary against the 360.
Wii...doesn't count. Far as I'm concerned they opted out of the competition when they released a GCN with a pointing device.
