So far the Pre-Order sales for PS3 are about double that for the 360.
For those who have played it does it bother you? Does it make sense or have you even thought about it?

Who cares?
It won't be any different of a successor if they buy it on a different system all of a sudden
Why on bloody earth would anybody give a rats ass or be "bothered" by which console some random people on the internet buy a game for? Let alone a game I dont even care about. :? I hated demon souls so much I returned it the next day after I bought it.So far the Pre-Order sales for PS3 are about double that for the 360.

I think Dark Souls is a game that is supposed to be played on PS3. It's just a PS3 game really, just like mass effect 2 (lol) should've stayed 360 exclusiveSo far the Pre-Order sales for PS3 are about double that for the 360.

Why should I care which system someone chooses to play the game on? All I care about is that the game itself succeeds, so that From Software will continue to deliver more 'Souls' games. I am actually happy that it is on the 360, so that those who missed out on Demon's Souls because they don't own a PS3 can enjoy a similar experience for themselves. For that matter, I would love to see it go to PC as well.

it's not exactly that, it's simply that because of Dark Souls specific design makeup if you don't pay for XBL on xbox360 it will essentually be a gimped game. This is true forDark Souls more than any other game this gen because of it'salways online intergration focus that it had on Demon's Souls on PS3.
This is the main humor of anyone buying DS on xbox360, becaue it's instantly and foreverinferior to PS3 out the box and xbox360 fans are always going on about not wanting inferior ports.
Good for them I guess. Why would it bother me that someone's playing a game? I'm not a shareholder. So far the Pre-Order sales for PS3 are about double that for the 360.

Why should it bother anybody...? If you are so devoted to one console that you actually are bothered by somebody chosing the 360 over a ps3 version then that is pretty sad...

I am very happy this game is on 360 as well. It needs all the exposure it can get. Demon's Souls is one of the most amazing games ever made but not enough people played it, it should have been a multi-million selling mega hit, and the more people play it the more people will realize what a true quality is supposed to be like.
But honesty if anyone actually has a choice between getting it on PS3 or 360, choosing to get it on 360 would be ridiculous.
[QUOTE="MonsieurX"][QUOTE="Cow4ever"] I game better played on the PS3Cow4everAnd how is it better played on the PS3? It's a port to the 360, you use the dpad alot and most importantly it's a hardcore game not the average shooter the 360 kids are used to there will be no cross game chat for example. And also since the spiritual prequel is a PS3 exclusive. And what casharmy said. Nothing wrong with introducing the supposed "kids" to a game with actual challenge.

I am of course getting it on PS3, but don't think it is ridiculous at all for anyone to get it on the 360 instead. I mean, it is the same game and there will be a community established on the 360 in much the same way that there was one established for Demon's Souls on the PS3. Yes, I think staying within the Demon's Souls community is the way to go as well, but the experience is not going to be any less great for those on the 360. What is ridiculous is thinking that it will be.

lol, spoken like someone who doesn't own a PS3 and never played Demon's Souls to begin with. GG
Even most pro-xbox gamers who own both PS3 and xbox360 and played DS will admit that Demon's Souls is a far superior game and like no other and like no other that came out this generation, including the crap that is called Oblivion.
Skyrim looks like it will actually be a "good" game. But if Dark Souls is anything like Demon's Souls (Heven forbid if it's better) it will not only be a Phenomenon, it will be the greatest game ever made.
:) Some nice words from OXM The official xbox Mag.
"Unlike Bethesda's RPG beast, there doesn't appear to be much recycling in Dark Souls. Each area feels different, and enemies are rarely re-used for the sake of it. You're not just dealing with bigger knights with more health - every new foe you meet requires your utmost respect if you want to survive. If you've got the stomach to handle a game like Dark Souls, then this will be the only RPG you need to buy this Christmas. Forget about running around the hills collecting flowers to make potions - it's time to start preparing for a road trip straight to hell."

How does this affect me exactly?
Those who pre-ordered it on the 360 have their reasons. There is nothing wrong with getting the 360 version. People should play what they like and on what they like. If that is the 360 version, so be it. No issue really.
Maroxad
lol, there actually IS something wrong with getting the 360 version, but if that's your only option it's better than not being able to play the game at all.

It wouldn't surprise me either. The majority the game developers/publishers with large advertising budgets basically bribe reviewers into giving high scores. The game could actually be good. The game could be terrible. I wouldn't know if I only read professional reviews. Also, judging games by scores is a terrible way to determine if a game is worth playing. Actually READING a review would be a step in the right direction, though.

You really care that much about the scores?
There are plenty of games that out-scored DS including Oblivion but Demon's Souls was a god game that normal reviews couldn't even really quantify. if you are a gamer the score for Dark Souls won't even matter unless the game flawed enough to bring it down to a level comparible to that of something like Oblivion (and I'm honestly not being scarcastic).
:P but then again if you like running around the hills collecting flowers as opposed to a road trip to hell Skyrim might be the better route for you. as for me, I'll go to hell

1. won't have any diffrence in design based on system you buy, sorry.
2. If they own a PS3 and hate it's controls, there are many oprional controlers designed for the system exactly like xbox360 (I have 2)
3. Oh gawd, there will be NOTHING superior about playing Darks Souls on xbl over PSN, like what the hell are you even talking about here?
4. That's a rediclious reason at given the drawbacks to getting it on that platform (unless it's the only one you own)
5. lol ok (so not having a PS3)?
Seriously, it sounds like you never played demon's Souls. The things you are trying to bring up for arguments to get onxbox360 (other than simply not owning a PS3 ) all have no impact on the game at all.

My point is: I jumped ship. It was a tough decision since I love DS as much as I do. I'm still on the fence about it, but I have had friends get annoyed with me over it.
DS was really the best example of the PS3, deep beautiful and very distinctly Japanese. Many people complain that putting it on the American console is a bad fit, or awkward somehow. While others complain that there is a disloyalty either expressed by the game company or by the fans for owning both systems but getting the other platform.
Caring about something like this is completely insignificant. Unless a person worships Sony or is elitist only to the Playstation brand, I can't imagine this being any kind of problem.
It would be just as silly as when the PS3 fans were laughing at the 360 fans in line when FFXIII came out.

So people with different tastes are now stupid? They might you know keep the 360 because they prefer the 360 exclusives and multiplats, as well as older games on the console that might be replayed. Most people prefer to play with their friends, many of my friends main complaint about Demons Souls was the terrible online component.
