How do you feel about Demon's Souls players buying Dark Souls for the 360?

I will NEVER support games like this. The only reason this is, is because that the freakin PS3 CAN'T DO PARTY CHAT! Thanks again Sony, for making an inferior console. I am so angry about this. Not getting this game anymore and I highly recommend to anyone considering buying this on the 360 not to and show these companies you aren't willing to pay for something and not be able to use it.

it's not exactly that, it's simply that because of Dark Souls specific design makeup if you don't pay for XBL on xbox360 it will essentually be a gimped game. This is true forDark Souls more than any other game this gen because of it'salways online intergration focus that it had on Demon's Souls on PS3.

This is the main humor of anyone buying DS on xbox360, becaue it's instantly and foreverinferior to PS3 out the box and xbox360 fans are always going on about not wanting inferior ports.

It annoys me that people who have both systems may choose to buy DS for 360 because it'll lessen the player pool for it on PS3, I admit it. Dark Souls shouldnt have gone multi-plat, Lemms will hate it because there aren't any guns in it and its not played from a first person perspective...

360 owner here, just thought i would chime in and say, there is only skyrim on my radar. having read a preview of this game, i have zero interest in it. if dying loads of times is something you enjoy, Dark souls is the game for you!sts106mat

You won't die loads of times as long as you aren't button mashing and treating it like a hack and slash. Take your time, be aware of your surroundings and a bit of a common sense and you'll get through most stages with minimal deaths if Dark Souls plays like Demon Souls. I played Demon Souls cautiously and it wasnt until my 4th boss fight that I died.

The only thing that bothers me is that not enough people have preordered. I want Dark Souls to be extremely successful. Developers like From Software need to be rewarded. They are the best that the video game industry has to offer.

I...really don't care what version they get. Let them buy it for the 360 if they want to. I would I feel anything about that?

The idea that Dark Souls is inherently worse on the 360 is stupid. If you truly believe this then why don't you say this in every other topic? Most 360 owners who actively purchase games on the system likely subscribes to live. I seriously doubt there are many people getting Dark Souls without Live. vashkey

Does it bother 360 owners that PS3 payers bought Dead Rising 2?...I doubt it

The publisher has said they used the PS3 as the lead platform so I wouldn't be so sure about buying it for the 360, and the whole XBL interface is not suited for this game IMO

Buying it as a EXTRA copy in additon to the PS3 copy to own in support of the company (From Software) who made this game to expand the franchise, boost the sales and help the game be an over-all sucess.

I played Demon's Souls but I have absolutely no reason to get Dark Souls on PS3 now that its is available on 360. I play all multiplats on my 360 because it's my preferred platform. The online is superior, the controller is superior (for me), and it's the platform that all of my friends are on. Let me turn this around on you and say there's absolutely no good reasons to get it on PS3. We've been given no indication that either version will be objectively superior. All it ultimately comes down to is which platform you prefer.

First of all i've gotta to say that it's good that Dark Souls will be on the 360 as well, developer likewise, but honestly in my opinion if the original Demon Souls was released on the 360 it was going to be an epic flop.Simply, when the game was released, 360 owners had plently of FPS and TPS to play.So it was gonna stay unnoticed!!!

Secondly, i'm pretty sure the game will have more success on the ps3. And that's mainly because of the Demon Souls fan base that already exists.

Third Oblivion sucked so i'm assuming Skyrim will follow.Who knows ?!?

Actually I didn't use rose tented glesses wrong.

He has never had any problems with xbox360 fanboys doing this and I have seen him in enough threads to know he will go along with them. even more obvious because he doesn't own a PS3 (self admitted) and he wants to point to one of the few examples of PS3 fans doing this to try to make some kind of point, I don't think so.

Kinda sad that you not only have to ignore points that kill your arguement,but you also have to lie about other posters. I've stated many times that i own all the consoles and a gaming PC so you can quit calling me a lemming;)

I don't know, it's their choice. I won't be buying Dark Souls on launch day since I'm buying Yugioh cards instead (Yeah, I duel, come at me bro!).

I loved Demon's Souls for my PS3 but the day I heard Dark Souls was coming out for the 360 I ended up selling my PS3. That guy that keeps going on about XBL is funny. Demon's Souls isn't some 16-player type of game where you have to join matchmaking. You meet each other through messages in bloodstains or ghostly apparitions, and only every so often. It isn't a persistent thing. A bloodstain found in my world may be found in the worlds of many other players.

I'm confident that the 360 community of Dark Souls would be large enough even if it was some 16-player PvP kind of game, let alone for the type of game it is. It could have a small community & you wouldn't be able to tell. Also, there are very, very few multiplat games with a smaller community of the 360 than on the PS3. With that in mind, of course I'd choose the version with the better controller, achievements & interface (dashboard, cross-game & party chat, better account/profile customization etc).

The entire point of Demon's/Dark Souls is that of delayed gratification, as opposed to the usual instant gratification you get with most games today, or even empty gratification ("You did nothing! Have 10 points!").

You start off a level not knowing the layout. You have some tough fights and get killed repeatedly. The reward is the feeling you get when you finally manage to kill those bastards and finish the level. The finishing of a level is usually the result of much hard work and frustration, and is (in my opinion) more of a reward than any medal, rank or golden weapon. You finally showed that bully of a level who was boss.

I don't understand this thinking when it's Final Fantasy (which was never a Sony franchise anyways) and I don't get it in this case.

From Software has been a big supporter of MS. They've made several exclusives with them.

Even if they hadn't, if anything getting a chance to play a game on a system not usually seen as its home is something of a novelty, certainly not something to be shunned. It would've been neater in the olden days when the machines and licensing forced more differences between the versions (a la NES vs. Master System versions), nowadays we all know it's going to be essentially the same game regardless of what version you play.

I mean in the end, what is being said here? PS3 owners shouldn't play Ninja Gaiden, or the next Dead or Alive, or Dead Rising?

• Controls can make or break a purchase on something. While there are PS3 controllers that are similar to the 360 controller, they are not as well supported or well known.
• Why not play on the system with the superior online?
• While I always try to get the best version of everything, some people like having all the multiplats for one system. Dont ask me why. I am not one of htem.

Dark Souls is only superior on the PS3 if you don't have Xbox live. If you are considering getting dark souls between the 2 systems you obviously have xbox live otherwise the CHOICE IS SIMPLE.
