Doesn't bother me one bit. I don't care how powerful any system is.BuryMe
But do you care about which has the best games?
PC has the most AAA and AA games

[QUOTE="Painballz"][QUOTE="Riki101"]i do think the tc is over exagerating about consoles having awful fps
but console gamers come on
you all have a pc, how can you post if not? that means alot of your parts are already covered, case, monitor, ram ect
if your telling the tc to make a full system from scratch, then let me post this to see the REAL price of console gaming
ps3 500
HDTV 1000
games +20
other accesories (hd cables) 60+
as you can see it is much over 1600 dollars for console gaming,
pc games are 20 bucks ceahper, it adds up, and by the year end if you compare pc vs console, the pc gamer can save up to 200-300 dollars in terms of buying games, and pc gamers will spend that in a video card once every 2-3 years,
i really think consoles are more expensive if you want the full experience vs pc full experienceRiki101
agreed
most 360 games run 600p and some 720p all with 30fps
PC's run at way higher res with double the frames
PC's don't require that much maintence if your not a nub, and whats so bad about putting settings on high? It takes 2 seconds and will gave you much better graphics than any console can do
Painballz
Again though; there's the kicker. It isn't much better. And i say this as an owner of a gaming PC; if you dont believe me, see "Crysis RULES!" thread, or even the thread on this very page from earlier where i told the guy he'd be better off buying orange box on his PC if it will run it nicely enough.
Unlike you, i also own consoles too however. So i have the benefit of being able to read "the PC will have graphics WAY better than any console out there" while knowing "that's nonsense."
I'll say quite happily that there is no noticeable difference in graphical quality between PS3 and PC versions of Unreal Tournament 3. Doom 3 looked nicer on PCs than on the XBox, but hardly by any great margin, and the tech which was out when that game hit stores was waaaay beyond the stuff in the 'box.
PCs are better than consoles in graphics. Everyone knows that. I dont know who you're trying to convince. Trying to tell us they're MILES ahead of consoles wont work though, as they're not.

I think I have at least some idea of how to maintain a PC, thank you.
And no, you can't just throw the settings on high. Not all of us have $450 graphics cards. An 8800 GT will not play Crysis on high at a solid 30fps; you have to experiment to find out which settings have to be turned down to medium. And games are only going to get more demanding, not less, so it's not like that's going to go away.
Lastly, you don't seem to be grasping what we enjoy. It's not "2 seconds" of messing with settings, it's ZERO seconds. Nothing. You don't have to think about it at all. Which is exactly what I want. No configuring resolution or graphics options. No looking for drivers to cure weird glitches. No googling to figure out why the game gets stuck at a certain point (someone needs to tell Crytek to fire their game script developers; I'm sick of having to use devmode just to unstick the objectives script). NOTHING. No effort whatsoever. Is any of this getting through to you?

So you're ignoring the rest of that large post and just picking up on that, huh? :| Despite the fact that there are many more examples of games not looking significantly better on the PC. In fact; when was the last time any game came out on the 360 and PC, and the review pointed out "WOWSERS this game looks so much better on the PC!"

'Funny how you bring Crysis into this, when 360 runs COD 4 with a mix of Med-high settings at 600p

You're replying with a completely irrelevent point. He said most game run at 600p. In fact, i'm not aware of any that run that low. Halo 3 is at least 640. I can think of two which run at less than 720p - and even if there are more, the fact is that these are in the tiny minority of games, not "most of them" at all.

60fps at 640p looks just fine to me. The PC version has better lighting. That's all i noticed. :| Again; really proving the point that PCs are annihilating those console owners here. :|

'Funny how you bring Crysis into this, when 360 runs COD 4 with a mix of Med-high settings at 600pPainballzWhat, is Crysis off limits now? Funny how it wasn't a couple months ago when we had to sit through an endless parade of screenshot threads yelling "can your console do THIS?!?!" No, my console can't - but neither can my PC that cost more than my 360 and PS3 put together. If PC fans are going to trumpet screenshots of Crysis on its highest detail levels, then they should be ready to provide hard numbers on their minimum FPS at that level of detail.
And you still haven't answered my question: what makes CoD 4 (a game that you trashed as being CoD 2 with new skins) more fun at PC resolutions than at 600p? I have a clear answer for why I enjoy it more on my console - I can play it against my friends, none of whom have gaming PCs but all of whom know how to pick up a controller (and drink every frickin' beer in my fridge while they're at it).

Has custom maps (hundreds, while you wait for your 3 coming sometime this spring)
Custom game modes

That is hands-down, flat-out, no-debate incorrect. COD4 is 60fps. You're wrong right there. If all 360 games ran at 600p, every review would mention noticeable aliasing. They dont however; the only example i can think of is halo 3.
Please buy into this; constant exaggerations dont help your arguements.
PC COD4Yes, as I've made clear, I'm well aware of all that. And even if I wasn't, it's not like I couldn't have found all that in 30 seconds on Google. My point is, there are advantages to console gaming that are well worth giving all that up. It's easier. It's what my friends are playing on, letting me play with and against them. It's much easier to allow multiple people to play on (3 controllers are a lot cheaper, and take up much less space, than 3 more gaming PCs).Has custom maps (hundreds, while you wait for your 3 coming sometime this spring)

Oh, and I need to grab your "how gay is tevlin" screenshot for the next thread where people complain that Xbox Live is nothing but little kids calling everyone gay Here's proof that it's not the technology, but the halfwits it gets handed to.

Yes i played it regularly. I've beaten it on veteran including the crazy time-test at the end. I stopped playing about a month ago and went back to my usual counter strike/rainbow six/halo addictions.
My point is simple: everyone knows PC graphics are better. You're preaching to the choir. To overcome that, you're trying to argue that PC graphics way, WAY better. And sorry, but they're just not. 90% of the time they'll be sharper due to the higher resolutions, with some nice additions here and there. Nothing that jumps out at you. Nothing jaw-droppingly different.
So please, stop acting like PC graphics blow consoles away. They're better, but not leagues better.

Have you heard of Project Offset?
Its a PC exclusive now, since Intel bought them
[QUOTE="sSubZerOo"][QUOTE="expanded"]512mb.. that wouldn't be amazing in 5 months.. its still a good deal though..expanded
 What are you talking about.. I have yet to see any game being released in the next 2 years rivaling Crysis in visuals for the PC. And the 8800 GT plays the game quite well.
From what we have seen no game is even coming remotely close to the visuals or demands of Crysis in the next 2years.. The 8800 GT runs it quite well, and the 512mb is not a bottle neck for it in that game... It will be fine.
[Why did I build my own? Force of habit - like I said, I've been doing this since 1994. Nice try calling me a liar, though. Please go into the other room now, borrow your parents' firearms (PLEASE tell me they have one), and blow your brains out. Be considerate; lay a tarp down first. Again; see Crysis. I said that already. Why you think you can dismiss entire points by naming one or two exceptions is beyond me. :?
PC graphics do not annihilate console graphics. They are better. They always have been. But they are better in generally minor ways. That is a fact. And i say this as someone who tells people that PCs are better than consoles for crying out loud.
I simply dont understand why you're exaggerating how godly PCs are.

Why'd I REALLY do it? Honest answer? I had a huge bonus check this year, I'd already bought my wife a car (the bonus check didn't cover the whole car, but it was a nice down payment), I'd already bought myself an entirely new paintball gun (X7, eGrip, 36 stock), I cleared my credit cards off, and I still wanted something new to play with.
