How is Halo overrated?

It's easly the best console developed FPS series on the market. It appeals to "hardcore" and "casual" gamers alike. It has fantastic online. The game controls so well that it rivals most PC FPS's, it even has a decent story for a FPS.

Using auto aim isn't the same as having a good control. It isn't even close too Keyboard and mouse.

Well seriously, the only overrated part about Halo is its campaign, its utter garbage. But the online is where it really shines. I would dare say its the best Multiplayer game of this gen.

The game controls so well on a pad compared to pretty much any other FPS on a console, it's controls are even good for a PC standard. Plus KB/M isn't the end all/be all. alot of people prefer using a controller.

Then why does it require auto aim? Plus your statement doesn't even make sense. It controls so well on a console it rivals PC FPSes? What exactly are you trying to say?

One its on xbox/360. ANy game that comes to the that platform as an exclsuive is consider overrated.

Two its a FPS which so PC guys will downplay it because it console gamers will put it on par with pc games.

Three it sells well and is a AAA franchise.

As for Halo being overrated, well I think since it's extremely popular, a lot of "non-conformist" types hate it simply because of that reason-it's very popular. I personally think it's an average shooter. While halo 3 does have a good lobby system, the gameplay is too simple for my tastes.

The fact that Halo is still being mentioned after all those years as a top FPS shows how overrated it is. STALKER, Crysis, Far Cry, FEAR, etc. pretty much make it outdated. It was "pretty decent" at best when compared to other FPS back in 2001, but I probably couldn't even play it today. It doesn't crack the top 30 FPS ever tbh (not an exaggeration).ReddestSkies

1. Review scores are garbage, reviewers have no clue, basically.

2. Even if they weren't garbage, they would be platform-dependent: you couldn't compare scores across platforms

3. You can't compare scores across long periods of time

If Halo came out today as a PC game, it would score around 6.

I've been playing PC FPS since Doom. I vastly prefer a gamepad over a keyboard and mouse. But hey, 14 years isn't "much time" with a keyboard and mouse, right? :roll:lowe0

Halo 2 - Great game

Halo 3 - Major disappointment could of been way better

Considering the impact Halo had, I wouldn't say it's particularly overated, espically if the majority seemed to like it. WasntAvailable

I prefer a gamepad too and I've been playing since I was 8 (so 10 years) since Wolfenstein 3D, Blake Stone, and Quake II.

I can tell you how Halo is overrated, coming from a guy who used to not like it... to a guy who actually enjoys the game quite a bit.

It's great, but it's overrated. How is it overrated??? People act like it's the best game ever made, the midnight launch was insane, I've literally read where people have called it the "most complete game ever" on here.

Halo is a console FPS, making it an amazing game. If it were on PC it would have scored lower because of higher standards. Hermits don't realise this, calling it overrated. Cows call it overrated/bad because it's not on their system, same witht the sheep. Lemmings highly praise it because it's one of the best games on the Xbox/Xbox 360.

I think if you were to compare the Halo franchise to PC FPS', then you would see it from that way it's overrated.

But as a console shooter, there really isn't anything that can top it frankly. Sure there's TOB and from the previous gen Timesplitters, but Halo is perfect for the ultimate console FPS experience IMO.
