Saying that it is is just not enough for me.
What makes Live better than psn?
What specific feature does Live have that warrants paying for it (whether $20 or $50, etc)?

More demos, more downloadable content, HD movies and shows. BioShockOwnz
It's been out longer then PSN.
Peer to Peer XBL = 50$ a year
Dedicated servers (some game) = Free online
It has feature that people only care about because the PS3 doesn't have them. :|

A better question is why do you think PSN is on par with Live?
They both let me "Play Multi-player online games online with other players around the world.
Except one charges me 50$ a year and the other has an unbeatable price.

I highly disagree. I really liked this feature when the 360 first came, and I had no idea that the ps3 wouldn't have it.

It doesn't take 30 minutes to download a 50 mb file from Live ;)
Just to get this out of the way- 50 bucks a YEAR is practically free, and it helps keep out more 10 year olds than free online would. Wanted to get that straight.musicalmac

The more expensive system would also keep more 10 year olds out of games. And there are still tons of little kids playing on XBL.

It's funny how Xbox live HD Movies and shows delete themselves after a week.
At least these won't suddenly delete themselves. :D

I don't know if I totally agree. Mommy and daddy buy it for them anyway (which is just fine). But Mommy and Daddy are going to be less willing to give up their credit card for online play. Just how I feel about it.Too bad those aren't your movies. It's funny how Xbox live HD Movies and shows delete themselves after a week.

psn has free online play and that is the #1 reason why I use psn: To play games online.
Chatting online is cool, but I did not spend money to chat. If I want to I can use the instant messenger on my PC.

If that happens on a pay service, imagine what happens on a free service with no reason to police.
Just think about that.

You just need a Sub-Card.
if your not adding in price XBL is better but how much those features are worth is up to individualsRagashahs
All those features for a few dollars a month seem like a pretty good deal to me. Don't get me wrong though, PSN is still great.
Fact remains:You don't need a Credit card now to play XBL.

I downloaded 650MB on around 45min via psn. I set several large (600-800MB) downloads the night before and woke up to find all 5 are downloaded and I just have to install them which took 5-10mins each.
The ONLY things PSN has better are dedicated servers and it's free. Pretty much anything else you can imagine, it's better on Xbox Live than PSN... if PSN even has it.Not-A-Stalker

As I write this, I find myself becoming even more annoyed, because Rampart is in my living room just waiting to be enjoyed, but I know that this particular version will only leave me empty inside. Boy, I sure am glad I put off watching the second season of "Entourage" for the half-hour it took to download the stupid thing.
That's right. What passes for "background downloading" on the PS3 is only valid in the loosest sense of the term. While background downloading, you really can't do anything except paw through your collection of saves in the media bar or look for more garbage to buy off of the PlayStation Network. You can't, say, watch a DVD or even play a videogame while background downloading. Um... I'm sorry, but that's stupid.
Sorry, this guy trumps you in believability. ;)

This is the best answer so far. Right now, I am not sure is XBL worth it, that I why I posted to find out. I use to be on XBL on my xbox but after 2-3 yrs, I discontinue it cause I was usually playing the single-player mode of the game.

What I don't understand is why are most PC games from like 4-5 years ago have FREE servers still running....
Like Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield and Counter Strike...... BF2.
