Halo is massively popular and there is def no shortage of games in the series for fans to enjoy. My concern is that like with many other games there is a such thing as too much.

Who thinks Halo will go overboard with additions?
Who thinks Halo will needs as many additions as they can make?

There is already: Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 2 Map pack, Halo Triple Pack, Halo 3, Halo Zero, and Halo: Custom Edition. They are already planning on Halo Wars, Halo: Chronicles, and Halo 3: Recon.

How many Final Fantasy's are enough? How many Metal Gears are enough? How many Guitar Heros are enough? It's all profit uinfournatly, if the game has profit and sells they'll milk it till the day it dies.

I couldnt agree with you more. Unfortunately this is where good series go downhill and start to fail because after spin 38742387 it seems to lose its luster and appeal.

The original Halo on the X-Box was the only one I thought was a top notch title. It's not surprising Microsoft would start milking Halo after the trilogy though because it is their bread & butter and the face of the X-Box brand to a degree.

What is Halo Zero?

It a Free Halo side-scrolling shooter game. I also don't see the reason to count Map pack and Ports. Right now there is just Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo: ODST, Halo wars. Halo: Chronicles had been missing in action.

That isn't that bad.

There's only been 3 official Halo games released. Map packs do not count. that's nothing when you look at other franchises like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy.

As you may have comprehended, Halo is prosperous to a high level. Apart from Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV, no game has hammered Halo 2's day-one sales record, $125 million. For what reason would they stop?

It is Final Fantasy VII, the most miled Final Fantasy at the moment. I love FFVII, but I have to admit it is getting milked.

FFVII, Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, Advent Children, Last Order, and possible a remake. EDIT: There is also a Dirge of Cerberus on Cell Phones.

Halo Zero is a free, fan-made game. Ports don't count as milkage, it's just economics. Neither should the triple pack. There have only been Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3 and now Halo: ODST and Halo Wars. Hardly milkage. Bungie has stated themselves that they're moving on from Halo after ODST.

What additions? Bungie is only making ODST so they can tell the story for someone else's standpoint rather than just the MC's... The packs are just multiplayer maps... The Halo story is truly amazing, read the novels. I hope Bungie, Peter Jackson, etc make more games involving and showing different parts of the story similar to what Bungie is doing with ODST. The story is not just as simple as what you saw from the MC's perspective.

Yes, OVER 9000 Halo games would be good. :p

I liked Halo 3 the best.

I think one Halo per five years for the next little while should be good.

We shouldn't worry about the well-being of the game until it has more games than there are Pokemon movies.

Halo 2 sold about 7-8 million (guessing) in its lifetime on the Xbox with only 20 million Xbox's sold... Thats pretty amazing seeing how the PS2 struggled to sell that much of one title and the PS2 was owned by nearly 80 million customers

I'd argue the biggest difference between most FF games is how feminine the main character looks - the stories certainly don't change much. What's really odd is that FFXIII's main character doesn't top the femininity chart...

Yes, they do.

If a game can sell more than 2.5 million copies in its first hour on the shelves, then you know that this game is in demand and has a trememdous fanbase. The only other game to do this is GTA4 but only because it was on two major consoles, while Halo 3 was only on one...

This is exactly my point. Im not saying its been "milked" or over done yet, but i feel that Microsoft and Bungie will push it to that level. I really dont want to walk into a game store and see "Halo: Cooking Party"

they wont the odst team is only a small team we know theres a new Ip likely being unveiled at E3, as a source you will need to listen to the bungie podcast.

This isnt Mario or MGS now... Bungie wouldnt let this happen. But then again, MS owns Halo now, so they may likely get some other dev team to make new Halos

Way to take it out of proportion. Halo Triple Pack, Halo 2 Map Pack & Halo: Custom Edition? Halo Zero is fan made by the way.

Anyway, aslong as they're all quality games, I don't see any problem at all. It's like saying they should stop making Zelda or Mario platformers.

[QUOTE="Shafftehr"][QUOTE="Ragnarok1051"] At least the Final Fantasy games are different.

I'd argue the biggest difference between most FF games is how feminine the main character looks - the stories certainly don't change much. What's really odd is that FFXIII's main character doesn't top the femininity chart...

exactly ever since 7 they made all the main characters look like que#rs cept ff8 with squall looked kinda decent and zidane in ff9 but cloud tidus and vaan all looked like f@gs

There is already: Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 2 Map pack, Halo Triple Pack, Halo 3, Halo Zero, and Halo: Custom Edition. They are already planning on Halo Wars, Halo: Chronicles, and Halo 3: Recon.

Do you honestly not think that too many spin-offs and additions can lower the value of the series?

[QUOTE="TheAnnihilation"][QUOTE="comstrikeiscool"] One day sales mean nothing. Take sales over an item's entire life how about.krp008

Yes, they do.

If a game can sell more than 2.5 million copies in its first hour on the shelves, then you know that this game is in demand and has a trememdous fanbase. The only other game to do this is GTA4 but only because it was on two major consoles, while Halo 3 was only on one...

Three games. Grand Theft Auto IV, Halo 3 and World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Burning Cusade.

As long as they're good games, then no.
