One of the few reasons I was interested in the Wii U was the possible for strategy games and mmos. The Smartglass announcement just eliminated that advantage the Wii U possible had.

It's the other way around, man.

N64 was far superior to PS1 in terms of games *and* graphics.

It's only advantages were the racing games (Gran Turismo series), fighters (Tekken, Soul Blade) and JRPGs (which I personally don't care about).

Also, I found GC more fun than PS2 and SNES was arguably superior to Genesis (minus the Sonic games).

There's no $599 in the case of Wii U though.

A console doesn't magically flop, there's a reason, and given current mass market trends, Wii U is a safe bet due to its social angle and the touch screen interface.

No, it didn't. It has its exclusives (few and far between) but it completely missed out on the majority of multiplats which have been some of the biggest games this gen. Zombi U is the only game in the list I'm not sold on yet so you may have a point.

I haven't seen much media of Zombi U but from what I've seen it's not narrative heavy, it's not serious in tone, the game seems kid-friendly, it's light-hearted.

The game isn't backed up with a hollywood voice acting cast, its story isn't something a "mature adult" would enjoy, the game isn't about the atmosphere. You feel scared in the "ahhh!! that was exciting!" way, not "I can't sleep tonight"... you get the idea.

It's kiddy/nerdy/happy. Not serious/mature/adult.

Because simultaneously holding a controller and a 10" tablet is awkward.

And do you think it'll actually add anything meaningful to a game? Setting your formation in FIFA might be good or having a map of the gameworld sitting in your lap would probably be handy but that'd be the extent of it.

It's different with the WiiU because every console comes with a tablet as standard. And every tablet functions the same.

I'd imagine the adoption rate on Xbox will be so insignificant, the entire idea will be abandoned in no time. It's a gimmick and it'll be a short-lived one at that because MS aren't trying to sell you anything like with the Kinect.

As I said, it's just a means of trying to nullify the Wii Us "advantage".
