How the heck did GTA4 score so many 10's?

No military.

Barley any character customization, only some cloths.

No car customization.

Smaller map.

Nothing to spend your money on, no new houses.

Bad ending.

Glitchy multiplayer, seems like an after thought.

Shorter than San Andreas.

Graphical glitches (pop ups).

Bad framerate issues when playing online.

And more, seriously how did this game get PERFECT 10's? When it is far from perfect.

EDIT: What happened to "most people don't even finish a GTA game anyways" when talking about if episodic content was needed. Every one of my friends beat GTA4 the first week they had it.

"Receiving a 10 does not mean the game is perfect; it just means that it doesn't that the good far outweights the bad and the bad wasn't large enough to take points away from.

I personally think it's one of the most detailed games ever so I think it deserves the high scores.

IMO it deserved the 10, and i honestly think it depends on the person, if your into decent storys and more realism you'll love GTA4 ... if your into game that are oturages and pretty much a clusterF*** full of fun, then you'll love SA more.

Gamespot's old word for a 10 game. They have changed it a 10 to "Prime" now with the current system and they must not have changed it at that part of the site yet. Regardless, what Gamespot's charts label those 10 scores as does not mean who ever gave those games the score wanted the 10 to mean perfect.

From what I've seen in GTA so far, there is little innovation. More like taking what's worked, and putting it together.

Even in the reviews they have stated that the 10 they gave didn't mean there weren't any flaws. Just read a little bit. I don't care about that little chart, but I'm sure everyone knows nothing is absolutely PERFECT.

I never really thought about the money thing, what the heck can I spend on it besides clothes and guns? I wish I could buy apartments with it, maybe some sweet rides.xTHExJUICEx

That's what the those exclusive Episodic Content will probably include. I can only image what's going to be added. Probably a new location with new missions, weapons, cars, bikes, clothes, apartments, houses, boats and lots more.

I doubt they throw in all their "innovative" ideas on DLC, you'll see that in the next GTA game.

It's either because it's a great game in spite o fthose flaws, bias, or a combination of the 2.

Whats weird is the fact GS has always been hard on games that are very similar to their counter parts and GTA 4 honestly felt like every other GTA Ive played in the past. What exactly made this one a perfect 10? Its added online play?

Exactly. It goes without saying that nothing about any game with ever be perfect. Nothing about anything is perfect. There is always going to be a complaint from a lot of people about a lot of different things.

if microsoft is fundign the addon, it will be a completely different game. You don't honestly think that they would spend 50 MILLION dollars to have the same version as PS3 with just new cars or only new missions.... do you? I mean 50 million dollars is a lot for exclusive content to be generated considering it is "garunteed money" for Rockstar... it WILL be a different game.

Well M$ paid $50 million for the extra content, so it better have something else besides just a few more missions. I'm sure M$ is expecting a continuation of the story with most of what made the game great. I'm sure M$ already knows what they are getting and if it wasn't something great, they wouldn't have folked over $50mil for it.

What is kinda dumb about the ten score for gta4 is that there is only a handful of games that have ever gotten a 10. So then those of you who support the ten score are willing to say this is one of the greatest games of all time? doubt it.

I agree with this. I've enjoyed other games that have gotten lesser scores more this gen... I enjoyed GTAIII more then GTAIV... stupid Roman calling me every 5 min...

Oh it deserves the 10's... but like I said earlier in another thread, some other games that met high criteria for a 10 somehow lost the opportunity for certain reasons.

To put it more simply, if Grand Theft Auto got these tens I think other games should also receive love from the magical number. You all know what these games are...
