I hate to "/thread" you bro, but if you own both systems like I do, you would know how much superior the 360 "experience" is when compared to the PS3. You would not need me to explain these things to you. Remember, I am telling you this as a COW.

I never said the XBL "experience" isn't better than PSN's. Trust me I've used XBL more than enough to know this. But how does that make PSN "broken" or "pointless to use" like you stated? That makes no sense. Just because something's not quite as good doesn't make it useless. I watched the video you linked, and basically he made a big deal about a bunch of ticky tack things like game updates, installing games, and not being able to appear offline. Who really cares? Sure it would be nice if that stuff was improved but is it really that important? I didn't hear him mention anything about the stupid stuff on XBL like the Ads that cover the dashboard even though you're paying a subscription fee, or having to pay $10 just to change your screen name, or how Microsoft is so bad at letting 3rd party developers integrate their stuff into XBL that they're driving away even big-name companies like Valve from putting cool stuff like SteamWorks like they are on the PS3 with Portal 2 and now the new Counter Strike sequel. XBL has it's downsides just like any service does. You can't call a service "broken" just because it has some flaws. Everything has their pros and cons. Aside from a few minor features and improvements, XBL is pretty much the exact same "experience" as PSN when it comes down to both of their main purposes, playing games online, which is what you'll be using both of them for 99+% of the time. Sure, 1% of that time on PSN will probably be taken up by minor inconveniences compared to 0.1% on XBL, but life is full of inconveniences and it's something that you just have to get over. Would you rather the PS3 be exactly like XBL and have to pay $60/year for it on top of your $60/year XBL? I sure as hell wouldn't. I'll keep my free inconveniences over convenience that comes with a price any day. Really? The ads that "cover" the dashboard? Funny, Im on the 360 dashboard right now, and on the Spotlight section (the 360 equivalent of the "whats new" section on PS3), and right now I dont see a single non-game related ad on the system. There is usually ONE ad up there, like a Nissan ad or something, but you have to actively go out of your way to see it.
This is how you identify people who do not own 360s or regularly play them, if you are pointing this out as a legitimate concern to your gaming experience.
These are the ads you are complaining about:

You will spend an entire 4 seconds in this screen. Also, note that this is the ONLY non 360 gaming related ad in this section, and I had to scroll through like 10 the ads just to find it. Every single ad on there except this Nissan one is advertising something 360 related. Right now, there is an ad for Gears 3, an ad for extending your XBL for $1, some s*** about Kinect, an add for Fifa12, and a host of other 360 related things. The Nissan ad was actually 7 ads down. Are you telling me that this bothers you?
But look at this........would you look at that! :o an ad for Lil' Wayne's "the Carter 4" on PS3, and the movie THOR. I guess your PS3 gaming experience is ruined  . (also, note that after taking this picture, there is a footbal ad up there for Direct TV "NFL Sunday Ticket". Guess that ruins your experience huh?

The thing about it is...who cares? Not only do you spend 4 seconds on here, you have to actively go out of your way just to even see the ads. This is the stupidest arguement I have ever seen a PS3 fanboy use to discredit the 360, and I am a Cow.
The ads are the first thing to pop up when the console is powered on and are an eyesore, they are huge and noticeable. I can't even find or see the browse all button half the time for the game marketplace since the button is on huge add! Every tab is pretty much an ad too, except "my xbox" When the ps3 is turned on the adds are not shown. Only when I go to the store tab I'll see tiny ads. They aren't shoved in my face like the xbox. I don't even have ps3, this is just experience from using my best friend's all the time. PC: No adds ever unless I go to the steam store.
