I got online last night after not playing KZ2 online in around 6 months. Granted, I have not purchased any of the new maps, but picken's were slim for available games.

I wanted to do the game type where it cycles through the modes, but there weren't any available. I finally got into a death match game type, and everyone was speaking in what sounded like Russian. I even chose US for the region when prompted.Perhaps the group I was playing with lived in the US?

I thought about trying a different region, but was afraid of the lag.

I haveexperienced lag while playing on the US servers while playing in the US, that is why I asked. Admittedly, it is rare, but it does happen (as it does with most online games).

The general consensus of those who have played the game is that KZ2 is a solid FPS. Don't believe me? Check MetaCritic or GameRankings. Just because a game does not sell as well as GoW and have as much online play does not say anything about the quality of that game. The only thing low sales but solid scores tell us is that perhaps a game is underappreciated or that it didn't recieve the attention that it deserved.

I have to admit that I would normally agree. I also thought there was a lot of hype surrounding the game but now, I wonder. If there really had been as much hype around it as I previously thought, then it should have sold so much better. Let's face it, people will buy over hyped games even if they are god awful. Perhaps there wasn't as much anticipation surrounding the game as we thought. Sometimes media coverage can lead us to misinterpret the popularity of a game. Of course, none of this is the game's fault. Personally, I loved the SP campaign and am dying to play MP.

Yeah, campaign was the best among the FPS's this gen. But I don't play KZ2 MP because I'm all sucked by TF2 :P
