I would agree. The best games I've seen at E3 so far are multiplats and Sim City.

For an expo thats supposed to be console centric I've seen very little console exclusives.

One of the few things I actually agree with you is how Steam ultimately damages PC gaming,and that's why I support DRM-free sites like GOG as much as possible...

A console is by no means a personal computer,it's a standardised set of hardware,fully controlled by its parent company,while user has little say in the way its being run...

You shouldn't be so pessimistic,while MS is a very influential company,they have no chance to make such radical and negative changes to the PC as a platform.As I said,how would general PC populace react to MS connected their PCs to Xbox,a thing most of they don't care about at all?

Gamers aren't the only PC users,just a minority of them...

As I said,there are other OSs than Windows,and even if Windows tries to take a turn in the direction I find unacceptable,will switch to something else,Linux,or whatever...

Once my friends and I found that lighting tanks could take on prowlers we would mass them and just blitz every enemy base with 10+ lightings running around.

PS1 is still being played. I was in some massive battles last summer; haven't check back, so many other games etc etc. (and it's quite ancient now)

The underground expansion kinda killed it for me, but the memories, sweet memories. Nothing like it.

edit: haha, another great setup in the game was friends piling into the hummer equivalent, load the trunk up with gear and head out.

Lots of ganja and beer went down in those days, vehicle names have been wiped from my memory core :)

Lezpig the big PC confrence, the majority of games shown there are PC games. at E3 the only PC games are those coming from the big publishers (COH2, Planetside 2...etc), which isnt really where you find the majority of PC games.

I've only seen MS and Sony's conference, and they were so incredibly lame. It's just a shame PS3/360 gamers have lowered their standards so much that one good looking game at E3 is more than enough for them to be happy with their purchase.

Also..Microsoft lacks the strenght to enforce anything in PCgaming or pc as a whole. Unless people themselves choose an option MS won't be able to push anything. Even if MS would try to enforce Live (which they can't, both technically and legally) through DX devs would just switch back to OpenGL

Because they can't accept that a new shown game would be played on a PC and not on their precious consoles. Now they're all damage controlling saying "Still coming to consoles anyway". They try to play down their love of visuals so much its funny. I like good visuals and I'm not afraid to admit it's a big part of why I buy games. But the premise and gameplay look excellent too can't wait

DX and Live aren't currently integrated WITH EACH OTHER.

It's not necessary to use Live to be using DX, currently.
