With the line up it has...Sure wouldHarlockJCBut we're not even certain of its lineup yet. It's unclear whether some of the games shown off were just tech demos (such as Metal Gear) or parts of games actually under development. Is there a list of confirmed games floating around somewhere?
No, I would never pay that much for a gaming device. I wasn't too keen paying $299 for a PS3 and 360. IMO $399 is just pushing it.
Well, if you mean $160 - $200 for the 3DS and $200 on games, sure. If it was $399 for the handheld itself, I would wait the 4 years for the price drop.
No, fortunately Nintendo would never do this.ycole11This, although I would. It's gonna be $200-$250 though.
Of course not. Especially cuz the game list i read was just a bunch of remakes that i already completed on previous consoles.

No way in hell would I spend that kind of money ($400) for a handheld gaming machine...Also, the 3DS IS NOT a potentially life saving Cell Phone. :|
I barely use handhelds as it is, I'm high tech throughout my house. I hate playing my dinky handhelds on a tiny screen knowing I got full on giant screen HDTV and Sound equipment turned off. Handhelds are nice for TRAVELING imho, and that's about it. I realize when I was a kid, and I didn't own much of anything, my handhelds had more value. I took them to school, they were nice on a busride home, during recess a break from the monkey bars, etc. It was portable, I even got some time in my bathroom!
Fastforward to the future, these days in my own house, with multiple HDTV's, surround sound systems, my own Office and Gaming room, and multiple computers...handhelds don't have that much meaning to me now. I still own them, as there are great titles to play on PSP and DS from time to time that are must plays (AAAe's), but overall, I don't really play handhelds to often. Trips to different States and Countries, Plane Rides...they still have their value of course. Hotel rooms, again, I get a little value. My Cell phone also provides entertainment as well.
I hope Nintendo does charge that much ($400), I would love to see how the fans react.
[QUOTE="MrFamBoyLOL"]No not at all. I think PSP go priced at 199 was overpriced I would not spend more than a actual game console system.RTUUMMPSP GO is $250 :/ LOL that was really dumb on Sony's part.
are you kidding me, 399 is over price,
and i dont think nintendo is that blind to see psp go fail at 249,99
it will probably cost the same as the dsi xl could even cost less since it has smaller lcd screen , then dsixl ,
and those cameras etc will be cheaper to make,
everything in the 3ds will be cheaper to make , graphics are gc level , wii was 249,99 w gamecube level graphics
so ya , nuff said ,
PSP GO is $250 :/ LOL that was really dumb on Sony's part. Some stores sells it for 199 since its not selling well[QUOTE="RTUUMM"][QUOTE="MrFamBoyLOL"]No not at all. I think PSP go priced at 199 was overpriced I would not spend more than a actual game console system.jasonharris48
No.
And the only way the price would end up that high is if the components and manufacturing costs are around that much - as Nintendo do not follow a loss leading strategy. It's conceivable I guess, but I don't think it's likely.
there is a 0% chance it will be that, so discussing it is silly
Really, the iPhone costs that much without a contract coz Apple can charge extra without the contract
The iPhone 4, and the iPod Touch 3G is probably still much more powerful than the 3DS, excluding the GPU
iPhone's have 833Mhz-1GHz CPUs, 256MB-512MB RAM, 1-2 high resolution cameras, gyro sensors and tilt sensors, multi-touch, among other things that the 3DS will not have
If we're lucky, the 3DS will have a 500Mhz ARM CPU, (Nintendo themselves said its "roughly" as powerful as the GameCube, not more) a GPU that we know might push 15-30 million polygons and have a 200Mhz Clock rate, and judging by the trailers its looking like 64MB-128MB RAM so it won't be cutting edge at all
The 3DS won't be more than $199, nintendo won't do that. The 3DS is clearly being made out of the cheapest but best tech available (for instance three VGA cameras)
Perhaps.
My justification is that there has to be enough great games to warrant apurchase. At $400 given the amount of 3rd party support (and undoubtedly the strong 1st party support) this thing appears to be getting? Man, even that sounds like a steal.
But we'll have to wait till it comes out to see how well the games turn out.
"This is a Steep Bill.....but it's worth it."
They better have a 3 games for free bundle with it if it was $399. Though I doubt Nintendo would do it.
Depends....If you don't want the data plan, then buying the phone off contract is proven to be cheaper over a two year span.Firstly they wouldnt....
Secondly, the droid and Iphones go for 199.99 with a 2 year contract. No one ever buys the phones barebone (id hope), they are around 500ish.

It was already confirmed that there would be a Metal Gear game. Those what I am looking forward to more is the KI game and the OOT remake.
I thought this was the reason ppl were mean to cows for 2 years. And It is a console. SW double standards ftw
